S2340T better than USB (DisplayLink) HDMI?

I had my S2340T monitor for about nine months and have always had problems with it under Windows 7, 8 and 8.1.  Plug into a USB port and use the latest DisplayLink drivers causes artifacts on the screen while scrolling or moving the mouse on the screen.   I have two monitors.  Another one (a HP 2311 x) is connected to a DVI port on my card from Nvidia 260GTX.  There is no problem on this monitor. I wonder if I might have better luck by giving up USB and try to use the S2340T with HDMI.  When I tried, the monitor reports that there is no input signal.  But still, it seems that avoiding DisplayLink entirely is the way to go. All advice is appreciated.

After working with customer support Nvidia for about two weeks on this issue, here is the solution:

The DisplayLink (all versions) driver does not work with the Dell S2340T. You must use HDMI instead of USB. In Device Manager, uninstall the driver under USB DisplayLink graphics cards. You must contact your supplier of the graphics card of a program to check the stability of your graphics card.    I can strongly recommend Nvidia.  I use the GTX 260 card, and the stability test is here. Test your memory with memtest86 first. Finally, please monitor the temperature of your system, especially the CPU, with a tool of the manufacturer of the motherboard. You can't wait for the stability of the system unless your system temperature is within the plug. For reference, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, the motherboard is ASUS P8Z77-V LX, BIOS is 2204, processor is Intel i5-3550, 16 GB of DDR3 memory.

    Hello

I love firefox videos esp. Much better than the internet explore and chrome. Very stable and smooth. He played very well and then crashed. I thought it might be a few programs I uninstalled as shockwave who played hell with my computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled mozilla firefox and adobe flash player, but still could not play videos you tube, or golf revolution, etc. I took a screenshot, but I do not see an attachment to send you. It says I have to update adobe flash player or adobe flash player is required for video playback, which I have already done several times but it still doesn't appear in my firefox plugins. Have you downloaded the Flash Installer via this page?

Do you see the Flash plugin in its installation folder?

You should find the plugin Flash (NPSWF32_11_X_XXX_XXX.dll) file in this folder after you run the installer of Flash:

    • 32-bit Windows: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
    • 64-bit Windows: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\

+ This device would work better with USB 2.0 - Click here for a list of usb ports.

I thought all the usb ports 2.
I just checked the drivers in the Panel, and I thought they are all up to date.

The laptop supports without a doubt USB 2.0 ports.
I guess that this message can appear for many reasons: for example the USB device malfunction.
Also the problem of USB port could be responsible for such error.

So as the first workaround I recommend you remove the USB hubs and controllers in the Device Manager list.
Open the Device Manager, look for the controllers and USB hubs and uninstall the driver.
    Reboot the laptop

Usually the system will begin to recognize USB devices.

Note: during this procedure, all external USB devices must be disconencted

Using a usb to hdmi cable can I connect my TouchSmart 600 computer to my TV without damaging my PC?

    Suzanne,

With the help of a video-to-USB device like the EVGA UV plus + 19 will not damage your computer or HDTV. The EVGA UV + 19 more is an active device and is not just a passive cable. To the best of my knowledge, there is no passive cable which will convert the USB ports in HDMI ports.

  • The Vista is better than Windows XP Home edition?

    Hello

I installed vista, but is not supported & is unlikely to be the main programs I want to use with it! Is it because Vista is new, or Windows XP Home edition (which he runs under) is a better OS.

I read on the forum that WXP can be used in another partition. This would cause a problem? How would be affected other things like access to internet or e-mail if I used it in a partition?

Need help please, I'm lost and want to know the best thing to do.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Vista should be better than XP, but now many 3rd-party devices and programs are not compatible with Vista and therefore it s advisable to use two BONES; XP and Vista.
You can install the two OS s separately on two partitions.
    This should work.

With regard to the reception of the email: Please check where the e-mails are stored.
Especially as Outlook e-mail applications use a same folder of installation on the partition for saving e-mail. But the path can be changed in the settings somewhere.

A few words about Vista. As you probably n t know the needs of Vista a lot more material resources such as other early BONE. You will need a really fast and high performance for laptop or desktop PC to use all the features of Vista. I'm talking about the Aero glass effects, etc.

  • Is Digital Zoom precision on the Nex 5N and al better than simply cropping in post-production?

The main question in the subject line. If the answer is 'no', what is the new clear Image Zoom. It provides nothing that I can't do post-production with cropping?

If previous digital zoom and turn off zoom of the image are not better than cropping, software like The Gimp would be sufficient, or would I need pro-level photo editing software?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi lporrel,

As the camera will only m the image zoomed in and you might get a correct exposure for this small part of the image, this is a good option to use the digital zoom.

When you use the digital precision, Zoom auto focus feature works with priority on and around the central region.

While in the cropping a picture, its quality will remain identical to the original image, but the size will be smaller.

  • using a remote trigger cable usb or hdmi?

Any device that would activate a remote shutter release cable usb or hdmi?

    Thank you

    Tom

Canon lists not all accessories for the SX600 remote shutter release on their website or in the owner's manual. I've found other manufacturers one or the other. As a general rule, the higher end cameras are those with capabilities of remote shutter release, such as the series of G and the DSLR. I suggest to use the timer for the moment, and maybe someone can have a configuration that might work for you.

  • The 70 d is significantly better than the 7 d in the management of the high ISO situations?

I have a 6 d and it really spoiled me with its low noise high ISO capabilities. I wonder if the 70 d is much better than my 7 d when it comes to managing high ISO. It has the same sensor as the 6 d and I really like this display on D 70.

It is not "clearly" better - you will not see the difference that you can with the 6 d and higher models.

  • What are Service Packs? Can I upgrade to Service Pack 2 for free? If yes how? If I update it will help or hinder my system? Any pack is better than another?

Windows Vista Service Pack (basic information)

    Hello

I know this may seem a simple/stupid question, but I do not understand what are "Service Packs".  I don't know much about computers.

I have restored my laptop to the factory setting today and I reinstall my programs again.  I am trying to install a new program as well (Autodesk Inventor 2012).  The installation says I can't because I need Service Pack 2 and I only have Microsoft Vista Home Premium (Version: 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001).

What are Service Packs?  Can I upgrade to Service Pack 2 for free?  If yes how?  If I update it will help or hinder my system?  Any pack is better than another?

Thanks for the information and assistance that you can give.

    AstoriaBoro

You can install Service Pack 2 very simply - go to Windows Update and check for new updates - then install all available updates.

Once they are complete, return again (after a reboot) and do the same thing - repeat until there are no left.

Along the way you will be installed Service pack 2 :)

  • Why is windows 7 better than professional?

I was wondering why is windows 7 better than professional, because I want to see what features ultimate has this professional is not

Ultimate has some extra multimedia features, such as Windows Media Center.  It also has the ability to run multiple languages, I think. In addition, there is not much difference.  And if you do not need to connect to a domain, home edition Premium you will probably give everything that you need and want (and more).

  • iMovie dealt with only 4 k better than the first. I got lost? Help

I'm trying to see if I'm doing something wrong or missing something. I have 4 k 3840 x 2160 footage recorded on my iPhone that I have downloaded on my i7 3.5 ghz quad core, nvidia 1070, 6 GB ram, ssd, pc on Adobe and without using a proxy, I could not change the images. The raw 4 k has been trolling and freezing and would not play even at 1/8 res. OK for fun, I imported the images into iMovie (not CPF) on my old 2012 4 GB of ram, i5 2.5 ghz MacBook and it instantly imported and washing and playback was flawless. I'm lost. How is it. I didn't choose any encoding in iMovie. Is there some choices I select first or something. Also I know that it's the Adobe forum and I write for someone who is familiar with both platforms that I am trying to get my PC and first to work like the move

I don't know anything about it on Imovie... another that he is not a pro NLE. And some of the video apps fans are specially designed to work with the VFR, that most of the pro NLE are not.

Many 'film amateur' apps take a lot less computing power to work, as... Well... they are far away as complex and big a program. Don't want not to say that they are not very good for what they are designed to do, only that they have a different fill niche.

The standard to get images of the iPhone in PrPro, recommendation is to use the free program of handbrake to convert the VFR in CFR iPhone and then import them into PrPro.

    Handbrake download page: https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php

And no, I would not recommend trying to import VFR and PrPro do proxies on ingestion... convert to the CFR before import, or use other applications to change.

IMovie can work with this phone better than PrPro images, but... There's a hell of a lot of things PrPro can do that Imovie can not even dream of. If you need those, then your application PrPro. If not, well...

  • Lightroom is really better than a bridge and ACR?

I use Bridge and ACR for years. I have been turned off to learning Lightroom, but feel I can do is not so much because it seems the standard for photo editing.

So I sat down and tried to understand, and it was a pain in my butt. I guess that's just the learning curve, but it is not as simple as I thought it would be.

Is it really that much better than ACR and bridge? Should I even waste my time to learn?

If you have a good Bridge/ACR workflow then technically has no interest that Lightroom if you compare editing capabilities. Lightroom and Camera Raw have both share the same raw processing engine. You can get the same results of both programs. I switched to Lightroom years because I just love some of the things in the interface is better I like to work with Camera Raw. But it's my choice. I take no sides of the cataloging features as much as I can in Lightroom. I use it mainly for the develop module features. And I want to print from Lightroom as well. I don't think you should feel loose or lower when you talk to other photographers, just because you use Camera Raw and Bridge. Tools can give identical results. It's mostly a matter of choosing which is best for you.
