Safari lost

my daughter has downloaded a third party browser application that removed safari. now, we want to return to safari but cannot find a way to do it. Help, please

Try going to settings > General > Restrictions and ensuring Safari is turned on.

If that fixed it, go to settings > general Reset > reset home screen presentation.  This will put all your icons by default, so you will be have rearrange again, but it should make your reappear Safari.  Good luck!

Safari sidebar slips into view, move the mouse to the left or by clicking on the icon in the toolbar.

There are 3 menus through the albums has only 2 3 show any color.  This is part of the new flat design, minimal color (a bit like side bar of the Finder)

    Favorites - No.

reading list - Yes (if photos)

    Hi rmmilleriii,

Under Firefox 3.6.3 and Safari for Mac OS 10.6.3. Safari4 improved to 5. Lost all bookmarks in Firefox. Import, said it worked, but nothing appears. Firefox will not add favorite not either. Suggestions?

I guess that something is corrupted your locked your bookmarks and history file. Try the instructions available in the bookmarks and toolbar buttons not working after upgrading

You must also switch to Mac OS 10.6.3

  • iPod touch will not got to some Web sites - "Safari cannot open the page because the network connection has been lost."

Safari refuses to go to certain websites (facebook.com, youtube.com) on my iPod Touch and instead displays this error:

S afari cannot open the page because the network connection has been lost.

The bubble at the top where I typed in the URL doesn't change, it always says "facebook.com" or something else.

No matter where I am, so it won't get fixed by resetting my home Wi - Fi router. Other sites load fine. I have reset the iPod, too, by pressing the sleep button and one on the front (whatever it's called) until I see the apple logo. I also did 'Story clear and data Web site' in the Safari settings.

I searched the web and found a number of threads that start with similar complaints, but I can't find one where the problem has been resolved in fact.

    Thank you!

Not "no matter where I am," means, it happens with all networks?

    If so:

    Try:

-Reset the device iOS. Nothing will be lost

Device iOS Reset: Hold down the On / Off button and the Home button at the same time for to

ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    -Reset all settings

Go to settings > general > Reset and tap reset all settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as your contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) are not affected.

    -Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

    -Restore factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at an Apple store Genius Bar because it appears that you have a hardware problem.

    Hi Michel,.

Please open the monitory of activity by going to Applications > utilities on your Mac. You can search any processes with the name of SAFARI COULD HISTO and close it. More detailed instructions can be found here: error with Adobe products: close the following applications.

Also, make sure you reinstall your CS5.5 disc or direct download. If you use Time Machine or similar backup to restore your programs on your computer reformatted, you may encounter issues. Adobe programs do not correctly migrate due to hidden files permissions.

  • I lost Safari!

Suddenly, I discovered that Safari had fallen from my iPhone 6.  Completely gone. I tried to find Safari again on the App Store, but it's not.  Tried to check on iTunes, nothing.

Then I checked if I could recover, but om my restore most recent version was then with missing Safari.  Could someone help me to Safari on my iPhone?

  • Lost folder Safari bookmarks

Safari 9.1.1. : I was a change in editing very simple bookmark to bookmark files - by changing the order of the folders so a folder was closer to the top of the list because of its importance for me.   Received an error message that says could not do it because the favorites were the synchronization, please try again in a few minutes.  WAITED 5 minutes and moved the folder closer to the top of the list.  However, when I opened that folder of bookmarks, the bookmarks disappeared.  It happened after the synchronization message.  What is causing this glitch and do for restore missing bookmarks

You can only restore the entire file of bookmarks to a previous state. It is not possible to restore the individual bookmarks.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select, then copy it to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

    ~/Library/Safari

    Quit Safari.

    Select

    Go ▹ go to folder

in the Finder menu bar. Paste it into the text box that opens by pressing Command + V, then press return.

Should open a folder window. Restore the file named "Bookmarks.plist" in this folder from a previous backup of the changes unwanted.

If you don't have such a backup, but the Favorites are still present on an iOS (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) device that synchronizes with iCloud, then see below.

Save your iOS devices. Turn off sync iCloud Safari on all devices except those. Quit Safari and delete the bookmarks on the Mac, and then enable synchronization Safari on it. Launch Safari. Bookmarks must synchronize icloud.

  • I seem to have lost all my favorite Safari on my Mac Mini and devices

Synchronization of bookmarks (tons of them in folders) via iCloud on my Mac and all my other devices (iPhone and iPad). I deleted them inadvertently on an older Mac Mini, I reinstall and they appear no more of my devices (new Mac mini, iPhone iPad and 6 3). I have recent TimeMachine backups of my new Mini. Is it possible to restore the iCloud preferences and bookmarks the way tone were before leaving the backup?

Thanks for your help with this.

  • I lost Safari by dragging it to the trash

I emptied the trash by mistake. I then downloaded Safari 7.0.4 and discovered that it won't work with Lion 10.7.5, can I get an older version of Safari or do I now have to update my OS?

You will need to update your OS unfortunately. Unless download you an older version on some third-party site.

  • Lost Safari bookmarks

I accidentally erased all the bookmarks on my iMac, when I reactivated an old iPad that I intend to use for exhibitions and conferences.  When I deleted the bookmarks on the iPad, they have gone on the iMac. I was not too worried because I have a time Machine, but now I can't find the Bookmarks.plist.  It is in one of these hidden libraries?  I have to have Time Machine replace Safari entirely?

I have disabled synchronization iCloud on my old iPad then the should not be a problem in the future.

    Thank you.

    Alice

    Alice,

Make sure that Finder > Preferences... > sidebar > yourusername folder is selected under 'Favorites '.

Disconnect from the internet and quit Safari.

Then using Time Machine, you need to restore the Bookmarks.plist, which lies in the "yourusername" > library > Safari folder.
