• Satellite L750 turns on and turns off by itself using Linux

  Today, I had some strange behavior on my laptop. It closes unexpectedly, after showing a dialog box saying "your computer will stop in 60 seconds". And then when I turn it back on, it stops just before the start and it turns on by itself after a few seconds.

  It not too much heat, the CPU temperature is normally between 50 - 60 c (I constantly monitored using Conky). In addition, someone told me to upgrade the BIOS, so I did it, but the problem persists. I also tried to replace the RAM and run a memcheck, but everything looks good on the side of the memory.

  I use linux and had a look on ' / var/log/syslog ", but I'm not sure that I know exactly what to look for. Messages saved before you stop do not seem to describe something suspicious.

  I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but it seems that the problem is more hardware related and I would like to study what are the causes stop randomly. The same thing on Windows, but there is no warning before stopping.
  My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L750-11w.

  Clues would be greatly appreciated.

  You have verified the functionality of the laptop using the Windows system, but have you used the Toshiba recovery disc and have you tested with factory settings?

  If this would be a hardware problem, then the laptop would be closed without any warning messages.
  So I guess there must be a software problem, I guess that some triggers for setting this automatic valve downwards.
  But to be honest, I have no idea of what parameters can be

  I have a training environment with the help of portable computers W530, who are locked in a box in front of the offices. It is not practical to reach the computer as it's hidden and so I need to use the dvi cable external monitor for the configuration of the bios, boot order, etc..

  Currently, boot options are hidden from the external screen until windows loads. The external monitor would then become active. A way around the monitor to the laptop altogether?

  VGA is driven by Nvidia, so apply the same parameters. Comes to the boot monitor in VGA BIOS (I forgot what we call this specific setting, as my W530 is at home). You should always pass nvidia Optimus only.

  Please don't be angry with me, but first I would not talk about problems if you use Linux on the Toshiba laptop. Is that Linux is not supported and that's why some features of laptops may not work properly.

  About the light battery;
  The LEDs are controlled by the BIOS. As you know the laptop was running Vista and so the BIOS support for Vista.
  As I said above, if you use another OS like XP or possibly Linux so some features may not work properly.

  Running Linux (Debian), I have a mouse very quick respose.  All options are set to the slower. A the more prominate advice suggested I have question HP because they sometimes provide software for Linux operating systems.

  Does anyone have an idea?  I also had a problem when I entered in the model and the Ser. No.. (at the bottom of the mouse) and the HP site said it was a mistake...

  Install "xinput", I was in a 'root' window, you may need to use 'sudo '...

  Accel game speed (should be "update frequency" reciprical times 1000) mine was at 10 which is a frequency of update
  
  100 so (1/100 * 1000 = 10).  I couldn't locate the frequency of my mouse (HP X 4000), so I guessed to 8 KHz. leading to 0.125
  
  I put it and then the "Accel Velocisty Scaling device" to get the right (with a little tweaking) speed.

  This slowed my mouse.  You can read about these settings from the page for xinput...

  VLANs or real dedicated switches.     Both are considered to be best practices.   With other types of traffic on the same subnet / vlan / switch as the iSCSI traffic is considered average way of not not best practices.   the iSCSI traffic is a unique type of specifc IP traffic and does not mix well at all.

  If you want to mix this traffic, you must have a NAS iSCSI san no.
