Upgrade RAM to HP DV7 2220 ev, which?

Hi all

As I wrote in the title, I have the laptop described for 3 years and after the upgrade ssd I did last month, now I'm

looking for the last update of the laptop, the RAM modules.

For the moment, the laptop has 2 x 2 GB ram ddr3 1333 MHz, and I think that his mother can support up to 2 x 4 GB memory (max 8 GB). Therefore, I am concerned and curious because it does not exactly the profile of the manufacturer modules MHz ram. So I ask: it will support 2 modules of 4 GB memory ddr3 at 1600 MHz if I buy them or I have to buy 1333 MHz modules?

Thanks in advance.

The actual speed of your system's memory is DDR3-1066. The DDR3-1333 is already downclocking. If DDR3-1600 memory cannot downclock to 1066 as necessary for the performance of your system. Also, a large part of the DDR3-1600 memory market is memory of 1.35 Volt low voltage and you need the variety of 1.5 volt.

Above is the kind of memory you need.

    Hello

Can someone tell me if it is possible to upgrade the ram on the dv7 6b13ev 8 GB to 16 GB?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello:

Because your laptop is the Intel processor and chipset, you can install 2 x 8 GB of memory.

See Chapter 1, pp 4 & 5 of the service manual on the link below for upgrade memory info.

  • Problems upgrading RAM on Pavilion DV7 Notebook PC

I know that it is an old machine, but still good.

I have the original 4 Mb RAM installed and trying to update this to 8 MB.

I installed a single module of 8Gb, DDR3 PC3-12800, which seems to be supported according to the carrier material online for this machine.  I see that this RAM is seen in the system BIOS and memory test BIOS passes; However, when I boot to Windows, I get a blue screen that provides actionable information... just a hexadecimal error code.

I tried the SIM in the two RAM slots with the same effect.

The RAM I am using is a new module from PNY PC3-12800, spec'd to work in 1066 and 1333 and 1600 MHz and a 1.5V SIM.

    Please help if possible...

    Thank you

    Hello

    The book says:

    2 the customer-accessible/extendable SODIMM slots

    Memory DDR3, 1 333 MHz
Support dual channel supports up to 8 GB of RAM in the following configurations
system memory total of 8192 MB (4096 MB × 2, both channels)
    Memory ● 6144 MB (2048 MB × 1 + 4096 MB × 1) total system
    Memory ● system total of 4096 MB (2048 MB x 2, dual-channel)
    ● 3072 MB total system memory (2048 MB × 1 + 1024Mo × 1)
    2048 MB total ● system memory (1024Mo × 2, both channels)
    2048 MB total (2048 MB × 1) ● system memory

Now you put 8 GB in a slot then it's not going to work. You have to put 2 x 4 GB. You can use 1.5V, on this machine, 1.5V RAM will use a bit more power and more hot, that's all.

    Kind regards.

  • Maximum RAM in a DV7 7205tx? I want to upgrade the RAM in my DV7-7205tx 8 GB to 16GB.

Hi, I would like to upgrade the RAM in my DV7-7205tx 8 GB to 16GB, but the specifications say that the maximum is 8 GB. I am intrigued by what the DV7-7304tx has been released with 16 GB installed and it has the same processor and the same chipset. Can you please explain why the manual tells me that I can't spend my 2x4gb chips to 2x8GB?

    Much appreciated,

    Greg

Although not conclusive, the following information suggests strongly that the dv7-7205tx is capable of 16 GB (2 X 8 GB) memory.

The OP needs to open the memory Bay and check whether 1 or 2 modules of memory are installed and that the part (s) was/is. If a single p/n 670034-001 is installed, the system should have no problem taking another module of 8 GB, the maximum of the motherboard is rated to 16 GB. If two p/n 641369-001 modules are installed, something is fishy, as it departs the HP part Surfer information.

    The protégé 4000 is compatible with the PC133 modules! AFAIK, you can upgrade RAM of this notebook 1 GB (1024 MB) and you can use these modules;
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

You can create partitions on the HARD drive using a 3rd party like Partition Magic 8 tool. I use this tool and it's really nice.
After you create 2 or three partitions on the HARD disk, you could install different OS (operating systems).

    Hello

I don t think that after updating the BIOS on the Tecra 8000, you will be able to use the 512 MB of memory.

    Hello

First some general information on your machine:
Your laptop can be upgraded to the top 8 GB and max upgrade, you can use both modules of memory of 4 GB.
Compatible 4 for GB DDR3 - 1066 MHz apart number PA3677U-1M4G. Module of memory with this part number is tested and 100% compatible with your device.

If you check this forum you will find number of threads as your one, where people try to level of RAM using Rams Corsair and spoke of the same problems. Obviously the reason for non-working machine is compatibility issue with these RAM modules.

The 'value' Modules of RAM use many markets good chips using several banks/channels, which can cause problems of compatibility with some chipsets/CPUS.

I highly recommend to use high quality and 100% compatible modules of RAM from Toshiba or Kingston.

  • Advisor to upgrade RAM to T430

    Dear,

I plan to upgrade RAM to my T430 with 4 GB RAM stick. I don't know which is the best between additional upgrade of another stick of RAM to 4 GB or 8 GB. I want my T430 running with RAM dual channel, so what should I choose for the best performance of my laptop?

Everyone has experienced this situation please take the time to give me your advice. Thank you very much.

I put two sticks of 8 GB in my DDR3 T430s. is now very expensive. I paid one more a few months, but I've seen 2x8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 for as little as $50 last week.

I agree that 16 GB may seem exaggerated, I think it will be long term option best and lowest cost. I now maximum RAM I can put in my T430s I have benefit from this extra RAM being able to minimize, or even completely disable paging. This makes my system run faster.

If I put in less RAM now, for example a single stick 4 GB or 8 GB, and then when I need to be upgraded in the future I'd RAM more of rest have of and DDR3 price would be probably much higher than today. (Consult prices of previous generation DDR2 today.) "I expect that the same thing will happen to DDR3 after DDR4 comes out.)

It is the 15-n233sl model and the plug you have 6 GB. See page 42 of the manual here:

    Repair manuals

The manual indicates that it takes up to 12 GB which is a 4 GB and 8 GB module to the module but regularly, users have reported success with 2 x 8 GB for a total of 16 concerts. For most of the users 8 GB is a lot and it would mean just remove the module from 2 gig you have now and its replacement by a 4 GB. What that you choose to do I would have 2 modules size even for enable support dual channel. 8 concerts running dual channel is likely to be just as good as 12 concerts running in single channel due to incompatible modules. • CC 7100 cmt: questions upgrade ram cmt dc 7100 (please help)

    Hey all,.
There is history... or you can just go to the section "cut to the Chase" to the bottom of the post

    The long story...
my name is chris, and I'm trying to help a 14-year-old son, friends learn a lil more on his old pc.

his pc has a hand and is obviously outdated, I got a bunch of old carcasses of office and let him rumage anything that would contribute to his pc. We found a total of 3 GB of ram ddr400mhz which is just below its limit of 4 GB machines.

so I thought everything would go smoothly, it is certainly not my first ram upgrade, having built many of the old desktop computers it was inflict through, I consider myself pretty well informed on the pc and have renovated a lot of pc, same Freelancer my skills of mechanics and tokens for a lil extra cash on the side I have dealt with many a problem, repair and upgrade, since I took my first windows machine in 2000, before that I started with a commodore 64 and eventually got an apple iic when I was about 10 years old... anyway, what im getting here, is I USED to know my s#@t, but for some reason any It's evading me and google isn't offering anything on the subject.

We planned on him to update to sp3 after have modernized their equipment as much as we can, while at the same time educate him as much as I could about how the computer worked, how to open and how to treat the components inside, it was the first time, he had never looked inside his machine or any machine besides...

However, because of delays and the issue with the ram does not, I eventually send him home with the same stock set up, he brought to me.

    Cut to the Chase

The problem here is that for some reason when I install 1, 2 or 3 the cards of ram 1 GB the machine do not post and triggers a series of beeps system, so obviously something isn't jiving, and I can't put my finger on it.
I can use 1,2,3 or all 4 of his stock [256 MB ddr 400 mhz] ram cards and it will display and start with change messages memory clear system, however, when you use less than four of its ram slots, a message is launched upward during post, stating something to the effect of all the slots must contain the same amount of ram

We are working on PC is a:
    HP DC 7100 CMT
    Windows XP SP2

    current installed RAM is [256 MB ddr 400 mhz] x 4 = a total of 1 GB

    tried to upgrade RAM parts:
    Ballistix [1 GB ddr 400 mhz] x 2 = a 2 GB total

    more

Memory Dell [1 gb ddr] (mhz are not)

I thought it was probably a bios thing and was about to investigate, but we ran out of time, now I'm tender hand to this community in the hope that someone here can indicate what it is I'm obviosly dominant, I really want to get his machine is upgraded because it is expessing a lot of interest in Unity3D , and scripts, ANDS I'd like see hiw cultivate these skills and I can't buy a machine, and he cannot afford a new machine, so the upgrade of its rigging with these old quarters would be the most ideal situations for him, if we cannot find out we will simply create a new rig out of my 'old' , but the 3.0 ghz core dou in his dc 7100 cmt processor is probably better than any of the alternatives in my attic... so yes this is my dilemma and I hope that some here is kind enough to point me in the right direction

    Thank you and best regards,
    Chris

    Hello:

You must have the total amount of memory in slots 1 and 3 are the same, and the same quantity in slots 2 and 4.

The PC will not work if you put 1 GB in slot 1, 1 GB in slot 2 and 1 GB in the Groove 3 because you're short 1 GB in the empty slot 4 and just short of 1 GB in slot 4 = 5 beeps.

Then... If you do not have 4 x 1 GB then use 1 GB in slots 1 and 3 and 256 MB in slots 2 and 4.

See the table below on page 16 memory configuration.

The processor is about $ 100 on eBay. However, I wouldn't do this upgrade if your goal is to improve the power of the laptop game. You would not notice a significant improvement. .2 ghz is an increase of 9% which is not significant at the risk of tearing the machine. Also, the power of game is not so much based on a lot more information about the processor, the graphics card and who can not be upgraded. Laptops can usually be modded in game machines when they come that way from the factory.
