Hello

It seems that the missing codecs. Make sure you have all the necessary codecs.
If in doubt, try to download and install K-Lite codec Pack (full version or mega):

Having too many CD/DVD programs can cause strange problems, especially if they're loading of parts of
themselves at the start because they will be competing for resources. This does not mean that this issue has been
caused by those, however, it's a possibility depending on which and how many you have installed.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

• Can't open my dvd tray & DVD will no longer play

I have a HP Pavilion dv6810 laptop. Recently, I tried to play a dvd, but the computer does not recognize that there is a dvd inserted. I must start by saying that a few days before I tried to access a data cd, but was unable to do so. In any case, when I then tried to use the dvd player, it does not recognize that there is a dvd in the machine. Now, unfortunately, I can't not to open the dvd drawer. It is stuck and nothing I've tried will open. I tried opening outdoors also although inwardly by clicking "Eject" Quick Play. I've even tried doing lever, but he is really stuck on one end.

I don't want to have to take the machine to a repair shop. They're going to have it forever and I need for my work every day.

Any suggestions?

Hi, looks like you have a defective optical drive.

To remove media insert a paper clip in the access of the output in the control panel front of the optical drive and gently push on the paper clip until the tray is released.

• CD will no longer play in a cd player.

Recently, I've burned audio CDs in WMP and they play in the computer, in my two dvd players connected to TV and my car stereo but won't play in my two stereo cd players. In fact, a few but they take a lot of time to "load". Others never load nor a message 'no disc '. If I try a cd burned months ago, they play as they always did without problem or delay in "loading". Obviously, the music is ON the cd, but something is at the origin of these 2 players for not being able to read or load it. I tried different cd Mfg., but which was never a problem before. It makes little difference. The worst was a Memorex color cd batch all gave a message 'no disc '. On a few of the blanks Magnavox (which ALWAYS worked very well), they will BE finally "load", but it takes a lot of time. Most will not. Yet once, I tried previously burned to the cd in the cd player 2 and they work fine. What I NOW burn, is a problem, but ONLY on 2 stereo drives cd and only with CDs burned in the last month or two. I ran the free program offered by Microsoft to correct WM, etc, but nothing has changed. I did a little at different speeds without success. Basically, I've been ripping / burning using Windows Audio at different speeds a few with no perceptible change in the results. Later I received from an expert internet the burner to computer was bad. It is relatively new and has worked very well until very recently.

Q: could it have something to do with the cd been closed properly? The cd play in my car, my computer and my dvd player if it has not been closed correctly? During the burning process, he says it closes.

Q: codec have something to do with the playback of the cd? Could they have changed during a windows update do the cd players obsolete readers?

Ed.

• old videos will no longer play / audio codec missing

Some old videos that I no longer will play. It says I'm missing an Audio Sharp G.726 audio codec (45). I tried to download the components, but I do not know if it is applied to Windows Media Player.

Yes, I had already tried and that has done nothing, so I went to http://www.free-codecs.com/sharp_g726_audio_codec_download.htm , a site that had the missing codec and installed it. It took three tries and I had to uninstall and reistall of other codec packages I tried, then restarted after making my slow super computer and reinstall just the single missing codec and finally it worked.

• Audiobooks from Netlibrary will no longer play

In the past, I managed to download and play 2 audio books from the media center of Netlibrary my clip. Yesterday, I tried to download another book, and he won't play at all. When I select my music and press Play, it scrolls all chapter numbers, but it will not stop on a whole chapter and play anything. I deleted the audio book and downloaded another. I had exactly the same result.

What is happening with my clip all of a sudden? This problem can be corrected?

Thank you!

• music past PC from XP to Vista PC and more will no longer play in the drive media or import into itunes

I transferred a large amount of music from my work (XP Dell) computer to my home laptop (Dell Vista) via an external hard drive. About 3/4 of the music now will not import into itunes (nothing happens at all when I try to add or drag the files on), and Windows media player will not play them. He complains about the codex or file extension. I is not the exact message at the moment but you can get it later.
The songs will play in another free player I downloaded (I don't remember who it was but can find out (I'm not on my laptop now)).
I've had this problem for a year or two and thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 just if I can access my music again, but don't know if it will even work and prefer not spend this money if there is a solution under Vista.
The files are a mixture of types, some were given to me and others that I transferred via CD myself. I have all the original CD or files. Each of them has played without problems on the XP PC. When I got this problem, I sent one of the files from my Vista computer on an XP machine and it played smoothly on this point, so it seems not that files have been corrupted. It seems to be a Vista problem that also affects good windows media player and itunes. I want to be able to get the songs in itunes, so I can listen to on my Ipod.
Any help gratefully received.

• Windows Media Player will no longer play downloaded visualizations

Recently, I had a problem range from simple annoyance to frustrating. The visualizations that I bought two (IE GE Force Aeon of spectrum) and those downloaded from Micorsoft (Album Art 3D, bubbles) will not play. It was a gradual progression, first I would like to restart and the problem seems to be resolved. Then my X 86 would not work, but would be my Media Player for 64-bit. Now they don't work at all.
