  I recently installed a version of Perl for windows 64-bit from active state. I ran some of my old Perl scripts from the DOS command line and they have worked all well. I met a problem when I tried to pass parameters to the Perl scripts. None of the parameters being passed to the Perl script. When I tried to use Windows to check/change the file association for Perl, I found that there is no way to specify 'open action' as it was in previous versions of windows. I did some research with Google and I found a few articles who have recommended changes to the registry. I would like to be able to avoid making changes to the registry. How can I get windows settings I specify on the command line for the Perl script?

  I'm looking for some normative advice pertaining to the construction of cocoa plug-in for PS CS5, using the latest xcode. In the construction of various samples, I find many questions. I had the filter to dissolve build agains OS X 10.6, but no dice against 10.7.  I still use in various random questions that have been documented elsewhere, for example errors Adobe unit Types.

  All that to say, what is the latest xcode and the version of the OS that we can reasonably expect to target the CS5 SDK (with samples)?

  Bonus points... are there compatibility problems if we build against the CS5 SDK and want to target our plugins CS3 and CS4?

  We usually don't update the SDK much after that it comes with the major version.

  So the next update SDK will probably come with the next major release of Photoshop.

  What about older versions of targeting: it should be fine on Windows as long as you avoid API new CS5.  On the Macintosh, it is more complicated because the CS5 SDK target cocoa and 32/64 bit - but older versions of Photoshop carbon and 32-bit only.

• PP CS5.5 has stopped working - a problem caused blocking the program.

  I have the Master Collection 5.5 and Premiere Pro decided to not start (it was fine last time I used it about 6 months ago). The start screen appears for about 2 seconds and then the message 'first Pro CS5.5 has stopped working. A problem caused blocking the program works correctly etc.

  I uninstalled Premiere Pro and re-installed from disc, but I experienced the same problem I uninstalled now again. I am aware that the disks are old enough now, and I wonder if I need to download a newer version. I found a few downloadable update files, but I didn't know what version I have to select (there are a number of version numbers, and some say that for electronic downloads) or if I need to reinstall from my records to get the update, or if updates are stand-alone programs.

  Can someone point me in the right direction to get this issue sorted?

  Another solution would be to change the CC, but I do not see the options to do this, the upgrade of my 5.5 Master Collection - and I can't see how to contact Adobe...

  I had a conversation with them, and they said that they did not support the CS applications and showed me the forums!

Sorry, CS5.5 is a suite of older applications and we cannot provide tech support 1-1 for every piece of software ever designed. Finally, this type of support tends to move to the forums. My apologies for your inconvenience.

  You have not quite a mysterious issue going on, however. You say it worked fine before, but now it does not work. I suspect a hardware conflict, probably a video driver. You can return to an earlier version of the driver to see if that will help?

  Open the Adobe folder and check if the Adobe Premiere pro CS5 folder is created with files stay inside?

  SDK for Perl 4.0 will work against ESX 3.5. There is a compatibility chart in the Installation Guide.

  It depends on what you want to do with :-)

  Each document workspace has an ITextVariableTable interface where you can manage the variables in a document. The ITextVariableFacade allows you to place variables in the stories. To find where the text variables are used, you can either use the front or you can iterate through OwnedItems for the kCalculatedTextVariableBoss of the class

  For some unknown reason, Adobe has not published all classes, especially ChangeVariableInfo. One way around this problem is to use IScriptRunner and a little javascript.
