  • SAMSUNG SSD of 840 EVO and the compatibility of the Inspiron 17 5748

Does anyone know how to get a Samsung SSD to work in an Inspiron 5748? A BIOS update would be useful?

There is absolutely no problem regarding the SSD compatibility, some very old systems here are held in SSD Samsung and Dell used their Samsung SSD OEM partner.

I strongly suggest a clean format and install (remove all clear them partitions beforehand or course the reader) it could be a matter of hunting wild goose if you perform a new installation, and it will be difficult to diagnose.

Wizard software should have told you regarding the State of health of the reader? If it is GOOD then its most likely your electronics semi-fresh install it here is the root cause.

  • 5.5 vSphere updated for compatibility with Samsung Tera1 Zero customers 1

Hi all, we anticipate a 5.1 to 5.5 vSpehere upgrade (Update 1).

I checked the compatibility matrices and can not find a match for our Tera1 Samung SyncMaster NC240 customer zero. My hypothesis is that VMware simply did not worth to test compatibility with the help of these models and it will actually work.

Everyone upgraded to 5.5 vSphere update 1 with zero customers Tera1 and they can confirm if that succeeded?

    Thanks heaps...

We are currently using Horizon view 5.3 with vSphere 5.5U1 and about 700 Tera1 zero clients have no problem Display protocol is of course PCoIP, over WAN and LAN connections.

Looks like the product you're looking for the Apple TV.  This unit uses your wireless internet connection to listen to all that play on your Mac to your TV via a process called AirPlay.  The latest version also has its own dedicated applications.   Here is some information on Apple TV:

  • Passage to the SSD for late 2008 MacBook for editing video: Samsung 850EVO or Pro?

    Hello

There are a lot of things out there on the upgrade the bowels of SSD and I narrowed my choice to Samsung 850 Evo or Pro, but there are some details that I found not covered elsewhere. The idea is to give to my MacBook Pro a few years in addition to be able to edit HD video (currently, it slows to a halt). I'm also upgrading to 8 GB of RAM.

My questions are: both the EVO 850 and 850 Pro actually work in my model, old as it is?

I would notice the difference between the two while editing video, taking into account the difference and compatibility issues/limitations of price? (Limits of SATA would effectively slow the levels of the EVO Pro?)

If/when I get ahead, it is advisable to keep my entire modification on a with the main files external HARD drive, or should I keep makes it / cache on the SSD drive?

    Here are my specs:

MacBook Pro (15 inch, late 2008)

2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor

    4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory

    Macintosh HD boot disk

NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M 256 MB graphics card

Running OS X El Capitan 10.11.5.

Please keep in mind, I am a techno-idiot and 90% of the above words I learned again in the last two days!

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Graeme.

    Yes.

Probably not.  You willing MBP of SATA2 connectivity and the full potential of each SSD not happen.

It's your choice.  If the capacity of SSDS is quite large, personally, I like to keep all data on a single disc, but maybe it's not convenient.

    Ciao.

  • Allows you to TRIM on Samsung 840 Pro SSD without danger?

I'm still in Yosemite because of compatibility issues with some software that we use at work. I saw OS x 10.10.4 you can activate the TRIM of the terminal, which would help a lot on my MBP of 2011 with a 840 Samsung 256 GB Pro. When I bought it, it's the tip about 500 MB/s as well read/write - excellent! But more recent benchmarks shows a sad note:

It's obviously a part of poor cleaning result and the lack of support from TRIM on OS X. whereas it's easy to activate the TRIM, I'm not so sure that it is safe to turn it on. There are many items from 2014 and 2015 mentioning bugs in the firmware from Samsung regarding FILLING in queueand bugs in the Linux kernel regarding sequentialTRIM that created a different problem. Most people would have problems because of the firmware on the disk problem.

-Where are we now? Is this even a question? I can't find a more recent post on what are the potential risks. I do a lot of video Import/Export at the time (where the wish for a faster drive) and I can't risk of corruption. We're talking perhaps about 50-60 hours of material, all the corruption in exports would probably take long to notice (before anyone looks at everything).

A quote from the post to MacRumors: 'so if you have a modern Samsung drive, it is important that your operating system uses regular sequential TRIM. Linux is the only OS that uses queued. All versions of OS X (same El Capitan) and Windows (last) always use sequential TRIM and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. »

So is it true? I can easily activate topping on my Samsung SSD, no risk that I'm suddenly stuck with random corruptions on my files in a few days/weeks?

As far as I can see 'about tech' article there is no problem on Mac, only Linux distributions that uses queued TRIM, which the Samsung 840/850 readers wrong informs that it supports. Sequential TRIM and Mac/Windows should not see any problem.

"Samsung TRIM questions seem to appeared only when used with the TRIM controls in queue." OS X uses only sequential TRIM of orders at this time, so allowing the FILLING with the line of Samsung SSD should be OK, such as reported by MacNN. »

  • Compatibility of the SSD with MBP

I was advised to upgrade my MacBook Pro to replace my hard drive with an SSD. (Samsung 850 PRO 512 GB)

The results were great. But after a few weeks, the computer would suddenly stop and restart. Initially, it was casual; last week, it happened several times throughout the day.

Best Buy or Samsung would give me the time of day. I had owned the player for about 6 weeks. Tired, I bought another identical yesterday disc [never forget the madness of this decision!]. Today the computer just closed and restarted.

Is there a problem of compatibility here?  Could someone suggest probable cause?  The original never hard disk once done this.

    Thank you.

    MBP 15 "mid-2010

Intel Core i5 to 2.53 GHz

Remove the SSD, install it in an enclosure, plug it into the MBP via USB and see if it will start the MBP externally (key OPTION key at startup).

If so, the internal SATA cable is the main suspect.  Replace it.  This is common with SSDS in Mbps.

If no success, run an Apple Hardware Test:

Note that an error free AHT is inconclusive.

  • Satellite U300-130 - new compatibility of SSD

    Hello

I have laptop Toshiba Satellite U300-130 (PSU30E-03D01GPL) and I need to replace my original HDD (Toshiba MK2035GSS) Player.

I thought about buying the SDS disc this time. V300 120 GB or Plextor M5S 128 GB Kingston

Are they compatible with my laptop?
With side s no problem but what about interface?

Kingston has SATA Rev 3.0 (6 Gb/s) with backward compatibility SATA Rev 2.0.
TOSHIBA MK2035GSS HARD drive has ATA-7/SATA1.0a/SATAII1.2 interface.

My laptop does support SATA II and it will work with Kingston V300 without any problem?

    Thank you
    SEV

    Hello

    > Are they compatible with my laptop?
Generally you will be able to use any SATA 2.5 SSD drive.
I upgraded my laptop with a series of SSD Samsung 840 250 GB.
But I don get t the full performance since my laptop computer s controller supports only SATA II (3 Gb/s), but it is no problem to recognize the SSD drive.

    > My laptop is supports SATA II, and it will work with Kingston V300 without any problem?
Install a tool of diagnosis of hardware called Sisoft SANDRA and you will get details on your controller.

  • Tecra 9100 bluetooth and Samsung SGH-D500

    Hello!

I have some trouble getting my Tecra to send files to my SGH-D500 using software of Samsung's PIM & file manager.

The app does not see the BT's COM port, it offers only IRDA as a configuration option.

However, another software connects to the phone OK, so I guess that it is a problem of compatibility between soft Samsung and battery Toshiba BT.

Toshiba Z500 or D600 procedures did not help.

Everything works OK with widcomm BT stack.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you!!

    Hello

Sorry, but if you use a non-Toshiba software you must check if Samsung support can help you. I have mobile phone Motorola have and transfer of data with battery Toshiba BT is successfully in both directions.

    Good bye

  • Early 2009 MacBook SSD compatibility

Hello. My MacBook is early 2009 with 2 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM, 120 GB hard drive. Now OS x 10.6.8 but intend to upgrade to El Capitan.

I want to spend my hard drive to a Solid State Drive. Transcend SSD370S series is available in my place.

Can I use the SSD of 256 GB of this series on my MacBook with no problems?

Here is the link for the site of Transcend. Compatibility list on their Web site does not include Apple laptops.

    http://www.transcend-info.com/products/no-631

    Thank you.

I have a Macbook in early 2009 and put a Samsung (pre Evo) 840 SSD inside and the speed is incredible, it feels like a brand new computer. Your Macbook has a Nvidia MCP79 SATA 3 Gb/s controller and there is a conflict between the controllers on some SSD only allowing them to operate to SATA 1.5 Gb/s, so you must be careful 6 Gbps. The conflict I know with certainty is with SSD using a Sandforce controller, but recently posted one here in their car with a controller Marvell only running at half speed so there may be others. TranSend uses what they call a TS6500, which is actually a renamed SiliconMotion SM2246EN controller and I can't find the evedience either way if it will work with the SATA 3 Gb speed with the Nvidia controller. Confused yet? I think that the essential is that we put 2015 (2016 ok) technology in 2009 computers and computer terms this year 6 scale is enormous, there may be incompatibilities. Probably the BEST way to avoid is to find a 3Gb SSD or a 6 GB SSD that is guaranteed to work in your Macbook. OWC has a line of 3 GB disks, which are more expensive but guaranteed to work http://eshop.macsales.com/

If you have to pay a little more to get a compatible drive, it is well worth. Add SSD to my Macbook and my iMac end of 2009 were the best computer improvements I've ever done.
