  • Wireless card pre-installed

    Hello

I am disappointed by the wireless card that I had installed with my Lenovo R500. I like the computer itself, but really want another wireless card. I have a few questions:

    1. Can I have a new wireless card installed by a certified company Lenovo?
    2. I can install my card wireless on the laptop? If so, how will I know if it is compatible with my computer?

Thanks for your time, I'm really looking for general support to find out how to replace your card wireless pre-installed, if you are not satisfied with it and that you want to upgrade.

    Thanks for the help!

    -James

HMM, that's what you're looking for. It will show you the proper procedure to replace the wireless card. Click here.

After you download it. Open it.

Expand "R500 (15.4 inches wide screen).

Expand "to remove and replace a FRU.

Click on "1070 PCI Express Mini for LAN wireless"

However, it is labeled as a FRU [replaceable unit plant] not a CRU [Crus by]. Your warranty will be void if you replace yourself.

  • Equium L10 does not recognize any PCMCIA wireless card I install

    Hello

I just bought a brand new Toshiba Equium L10 and I can't get any wireless card to install. I tried different models of Belkin, Netgear and MSI, which works perfectly well on other laptops, but not on this one.

The L10 is a clean build of Windows XP SP2 directly from the retailer and I am using the following steps to install the wireless network card:

    1. start Windows XP SP2 and log in as administrator
    2. run the software for the wireless card
    3. Insert the wireless card

At this point, windows only recognizes the card as an ethernet adapter wireless and will not install the drivers. Even if I manually install and specifically point to the correct directory, it fails to pick up the pilots still and says that there is nothing in the directory for the material that I install.

I have the latest version of the BIOS for the L10 and have tried all the following features without result:

    1. disable the legacy USB support in the BIOS
    2 disable built in ethernet
    3. run the Diagnostics of PC from Toshiba (reports that everything works just fine including PCMCIA)
4 rebuild provided using DVD from Toshiba laptop

Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? It drives me crazy and I've never had this kind of problem with any other laptop. Is this a defect known with Toshiba laptops and what is the solution?
Is this a problem with Win XP SP2? Is my laptop defective?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    K.

You can post the details of this card?
Have you contacted the manufacturing of PCMCIA card for support? Maybe there is a new version of driver for this card.

I've noticed some problems with Vodafone on a Satellite P10 PCMICA card. This card caused a blue screen on the unit. Well, the deactivation of the hyper-threading technology in BIOS has solved this problem. On other maps, the new version of driver also solved some strange problems.

However, what I would say it is there are a lot of things that could be a bad influence.

First of all I recommend you ask the card to support manufacturing.

  • How to install mini-pci in 1955-S805 wireless card?

I am installing a new mini-pci wireless card in my Satellite 1955-S805. I was able to lift and remove the black band brilliant above the keyboard and unscrew the two screws holding the key on the keyboard. But under the keyboard is silver metal. It doesn't seem to be a way to go beyond that. Everything I read seems to say that the mini-pci card under the keyboard.

Anyone know how to install a mini-pci card in these books of 1955-S805? Or does anyone have a manual on this model?

    Thank you

    Hi Pat

I don't know, but you have an American model. I have laptop 1900-703. This is a European model, and I had no problem to install the mini-pci wireless card.

Your device also has a wireless keyboard. Am I wrong?

If you want a built in wireless card, you must remove the laptop keyboard using keyboard left and right of your unit releases. After that, you can see small cover on the place of the keyboard and this cover are fixed with a screw. This small undercover he has wireless card slot.

    Hello

seems really strange, especially after the installation of a pc wireless card software. I can give you a suggestion:

EVERYTHING YOU DATA BACK UP AND REINSTALL YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM.

I think that it is the only way, because when you describe you already tried almost every thing, then a recovery is inevitable. Copy/backup your data and put the new OS on the HARD drive.

After that, make separate accounts (for example 3 accounts) and install the card netgear with the admin account. It should work.
    Would appreciate some comments.

  • Can I install a wireless card in my Satellite P30-141 wireless Bay?

P30-141 does not come with wireless capabilities and I can't follow all the cables of wireless antennas that must reside in the top cover of the machine, but I would like to know if it is possible to undertake my own installation of a toshiba wireless card? Would anyone out there know of a specific wireless card model / reference number that could be used to do this? I am quiet happy tinkering around inside the machine, like its four years past the warranty I think I already replaced the LCD once, so I'm pretty familiar with the guts, just can't find any documentation on this component getting in this particular machine.

Any advice would be a great help!

    Hello

As far as I know the number of units of the Satellite P30 series were equipped with card WLan.
So I think that the motherboard must contain the necessary PCI WLan mini slot.
But the question is if this unit was equipped with the WLan antenna.
If there is no cable antenna (black, white) near the miniPCI location, then this would mean that the WLan antenna is not available and this means that you could not install the card miniPCI Wlan module.
Without the antenna you will receive no WLan signal!

Why you n t try a USB WiFi key? It s in use and you don t just any external antenna.

Did you use the recovery process HP plant or install using a different operating system disk? If the latter, you need to install the drivers for all your hardware, including drivers for wireless network cards. You will get only the pilot specific support for your laptop model HP Web site tech.

If by "wireless card" you mean that you have a 3G USB modem through your cell phone provider, contact the cell phone provider for help with that. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How to: install a wireless card; Is a router still required after completing this

How difficult is it to install a wireless to my current desktop card, so I don't have to use a router?  I am running Windows Vista.  Is it still possible?

Even if you install a wireless card, you should always have a connection to the Internet. That is done via a wireless router. If you are near a public "hotspot", you may be able to connect through instead of one to have on your home or office.

It is certainly possible to install a wireless card. There are types that require the case to be opened to allow access to the PCI bus. There are types that plug into a USB port available on the case. It is not difficult to install.

I have the feeling you are trying to get rid of the cable between your computer and the Internet router.

  • HP 15-r240tx: wireless card driver not install (missing)?

    Hello world

Recently I bought HP 15 - r240tx (FREE DOS) from Flipkart, I installed windows pro 8.1 as soon as I received the laptop.

I downloaded all the drivers from the HP driver page and installed most of them.

My nvidea, audio, display, usb etc drivers work fine but my Wireless card is not.

I tried the realtek driver, but it is said that the network cable is not connected.

"" On the help desk, it gives the same error: "connect a cable Ethernet in this computer"

Also the button on the wireless keyboard is always on (white) and never goes.

I'm confused, am I missing a driver or something? Can I still a wireless adapter?

I would be happy to provide more information...

    Thank you.

    Hi @Gauravdeep .

    Thank you for your response.

Your network card should not be listed in the other category.

I suggest that you remove the network device and unknown in the other category.

Then search for the hardware changes.  This should then list the network under network adapter.

Once this has been accomplished, ran the HP Support Assistant to find the drivers for your network card.

    Good luck!
