Hey guys, I have a big problem, my Toshiba L300D begins!
I turn it on and it turns on the led lights (power, batery etc.), but just nothing on screen.
The fan works, the HARD drive starts.
The screen remains black.

Pleas help me!

Hi marcos12lis,

You can see something on an external display or is he too black?

Have you checked the FAQ here in the forum? There is already an article on this behavior and that you the steps must follow:

    Satelite L300D 22R / 2GB / 160 MB / AMD Prozessor / PSLCGE

    Hello

This BSOD code usually means that you are using the wrong driver SATA.
Have you downloaded the driver from the Toshiba page?

The Satellite L300D-22R belongs to the PSLCGE series so have you chosen this model number on the Toshiba page? Maybe you should check it again!

In the worst cases, you install XP compatible mode. That's why you n t need a SATA driver, but some users reported that the AHCI mode is slightly faster

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L300D begins only after the battery has been drained and recharged

I have a satellite L300D that has a problem at startup. Last week, it closed but got stuck on the "Disconnect" screen for a long time. Finally I manually turn it off by holding down the power button. Don't think no more of him it happened sometimes with my computers. However, when I went to turn it back on - it was nothing. Power lights came to the front of the computer, but not to screen at all. Could not even access the BIOS. Nothing. It was like that for several days.

Tried all the common solutions - removed battery, disconnect the power supply and press the power button - still nothing. Tried w/o - just AC, just the battery. Even stripped down to the motherboard to see if I could remove the CMOS battery and reset the CMOS but it is soldered on the motherboard. Put all back together, still nothing.

Finally, I had to recharge my cell phone using a USB adapter and given that the computer had power I tried the usb port and it worked (for example, I could charge the phone - still no screen on the computer). The computer's battery is dead and I plugged it in. That evening, after the battery was full, I tried the computer and it has perfectly worked. Started correctly, shut it down, restarted and it was fine. Unplugged this night there and reconnected again in the morning and... nothing. Just a black screen. No BIOS.

Killed the battery again then reloaded and now my computer is working again.

Any ideas on what could cause this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

In my opinion her only the only one you can is update the BIOS like Akuma suggested. This problem is not related software so that s the only option you have I think. You can download the latest version of the BIOS here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If this is not the case, contact an authorized service provider please. Guys can fix all this hardware related problems can diagnose this problem. Maybe the motherboard or something else must be exchanged.

    Good luck! :)

  • Keyboard does not work under Vista on Satellite L300D

    Dear readers,

I have a Satelite L300D with Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium. It is about 5 months and so far I have not had problems.

Today, I started the book and noticed that I was not able to type my password for Windows.
I thought, there must be a problem with the keyboard and restarted the laptop.
I tried to enter the Bios and I wonderd, keyboard worked as expected it. Back to Vista, the keyboard does not work yet.

I rebooted again and activated Capslock befor the Windowsstartup and looked at the LED.
Just after the appearance of the Windowslogo, Capslock off a keyboard was dead.
So I thougt it must be a driver error. I deleted the two driver files Hardware-Director told me where the drivers keyboard, rebooted twice a keyboard had returned to work, but only until the next reboot.

So I decided to make the recovery of HARD drive and reinstall Windows, thinking, this should fix the problem.

    But it's still there.

Is there someone who could help me? If this is an error of the driver, is should have disappeared when the laptop is in a State of delivery, right?

I would be very happy for any advice or help

    Greetings from Berlin

    Thomas

PS: I want to say sorry for my bad English... :-)

    Hey mate

    > It's about 5 months and until now I didn't have problems.

I wonder why this keyboard problem happened after 5 months of use?  :|
This means that this keyboard worked fine using the Vista and the Toshiba Recovery disk operating system but recently stopped working if the Microsoft OS is running.

In my eyes it s a hardware issue ok, it s really strange that you can use it in the BIOS and the Linux system. But I recommend to contact the ASP (certified partner) in your country and ask if the technician could test with the new keyboard.

I think that your warranty is valid and therefore everything must be covered by the warranty!

    Good luck

  • Taskbar of Satellite L300D-18E gel

    Hi all

I recently bought my laptop Toshiba Satelite L300D-18th in November last year and I have a problem occurring makes me crazy.

Almost everytime I use the laptop freezes the taskbar, at first I thought nothing but now its really starting to make me wet off the power. I've not had it long theres no way I must have this problem. I took out a policy of extra care so I take the laptop back, or would be - this something simple?

I looked at the list programs to see if there is anything here that is not and there is no and my windows live one care antivirus is fully updated up to what could be the cause?

What do you mean by task bar gel?
Hang whole OS or not answer?

For me, it sounds like a software problem and software problems are not covered by warranty (that I know of).
Take your recovery disk (you can create it using the Toshiba recovery disc creator) and reinstall the whole OS in order to check if the taskbar would be still freezes

  • Satellite L300D - no OS cannot be installed

    Hey,.

I have a Satelite L300D from a friend and I would like to install Vista on it. Now the problem:

Boots of Vista-DVD - all very well... Then, a few minutes after the development stage it says and error when copying files. OK, so I checked the HARD drive. A FUJITSU - I've found no diagnostic tool for it. I did a RAM test - everything is ok (Memtest86 +). Good so I tried Windows XP. After the installation has been loading a few things, BSOD
Windows 7 32 - bit: crashes on extract the files. The hard drive makes noises, every 5 seconds the same noise. a small click.

I installed the HDD on another laptop and tried to install Vista: no problem. Facilities managed. Same Vista DVD. OK, the ODD is damaged. I tried to install Vista from a USB key. Same mistake. It cannot copy some files. A few minutes while expand step is running.

OK, ODD or HARD drive is broken. RAM is ok. Following idea: AHCI.
I set the SATA Mode on Compatible. Vista starts but crashes and HARD drive makes the same noises. So I tunred AHCI once again. The problem persists. I see the background and cursor and I heard the sounds of the HARD drive.
    Return the notebook: Installation ok.

What is the problem? Windows XP/Vista/7 does not work. I'll try Ubuntu, simply test if he has success. I'd like to update BIOS but shit! Windows only. Then, someone has the same problem? What could be wrong?

    Hi Commifreak_1,

Normally, if the HARD drive is causing such clicking noises it means that it s defective and replacement needs but you have tested it on another laptop and it worked, which is really strange and I can t understand this

In General if RAM, HDD, ODD is ok and you are still not able to install Windows, it seems to be a problem of serious material caused by the motherboard, CPU or other part.

What you can try is Toshiba recovery disc. If it doesn t work as well it s really hardware problem and you need help from an authorized service provider to get rid of this.

  • Re: Satellite L300D do not begin with iTunes

The new L300D received 13 s today (with Vista Home Premium), loaded MS Office 2007 without problem and anti-virus and then iTunes software.

When trying to turn on laptop later would not start (got stuck on Please wait). Succeeded to restart using the system restore to a point of restoration before itunes was downloaded.
    Help, please!

I n t have experience with iTunes, but where did you downloaded it?
Maybe it's the s virus in it or an older version that is not compatible with Vista.

To be honest, I could be also software anti-virus because you wrote that you have installed the software, then on iTunes?
You did a reboot between these facilities?

    > What steps should I follow?
As far as I know on the second partition of HARD drive folder HDDRecovery is saved recovery image. When you start the installation of (F8 at startup) HARD disk recovery partition recovery image D will be installed on the C partition. In this case the D partition is not deleted. C just partition will be formatted before installation of recovery image begins.
Just use F8 option and go fix my computer. Just follow the on-screen menu and choose the software factory default recovery option.
    > 2 If the disc is defective, how do I re - install supplied OS (vista) for a new HARD drive?
After reading this question, I see you didn't read the document s user manuals. You need to create a recovery media (DVD recovery) and this recovery DVD you can use for recovery image installation if there is a problem with the HARD drive or you want to install original recovery image on the new HARD drive.
3 > unrelated meanings, can I upgrade to Windows 7 (clean install) 32 or 64 bit version?
Of course you can do it. Please visit the download page of Toshiba on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and check if all the drivers, tools and utilities are available here. Of course before doing this, create recovery DVDs.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Re: L300D-10U - unable to connect to the Internet

    All Hy.

I have a big problem with my Satellite L300D-10U. I can't connect to the internet via the network card. I have Windows XP SP2 home edition, and I have drivers installed correctly, but does not connect.
I have another PC Toshiba laptop, and with this one I can connect to very good.

    What can be the problem?

    Hello

Is this the first time that this system will be connected on this site?

If its you can try the FF:

    (1) once the ethernet is connected, the DSL Modem power Cycle. (Some Modem picks up the MAC ADDRESS of the network card on where it was previously connected and restarting it it redétecte it again.)

    (2) If your provider gave you an installation cd or a starter kit, you may need to install on the system.

    3) click Start and on the type of field to run RUN then click ok or open.

-Type IPCONFIG here and checked on this IPADDRESS pull you. If your getting something that begins with a (169 IP, ex is 169.12.23.1) so you have an invalid IP address.

-Type IPCONFIG/RELEASE - it will put everything back to 0

-Enter IPCONFIG / RENEW - your system will request an IP address from the modem and your modem it will ask the DHCP server.

-Type IPCONFIG again, if you get an IP address that begins with a 192 or anything else to 169. then you can try clicking on a Web site.

-Type Ping www.google.com - if you get 4 replies then your good to go.

-If it does not do #4.

    (4) try to go to the mode safe mode with networking by pressing F8 when you turn on the laptop, go to plan online on this mode. If you can get online in safe mode which means that it is beeing caused by a utility running on the backround of windows such as Antivirus, Utilities on IE etc.

Hope that this will somehow help you with this, isolate the internet connectivity problem is really difficult because it can be caused by several things. But if you have any important data on the system, you can refine it by a recovery :)

  • Re: Why is it so hard to find drivers for a Satellite L300D-11V

I recently acquired a laptop Toshiba Satellite L300D-11V to my daughter when she was upgraded to a netbook. It had Vista on it and I tried to installed Windows 7. I've never owned a notebook pc before, only a desktop pc; and they have never been through an OEM like Toshiba, but is built for me or by me. I bought Windows 7 and here, asked if he had any tips to install the drivers on my laptop Toshiba.

Windows installs all drivers actually when it installs. Not the best that you not understand, or later, but enough so that everything works.

I had problems but try to update of maps, graphics and imaging (webcam) devices. Windows gave a dated 2008 latest ATI driver accredited a pilot signed for the ATI Radeon X 1250. After a few searches through Toshiba, I managed to update this for 2009. But it took 2 days to research before finding what I think is the last Catalyst (and last?) ATI Radeon X 1200 series v.8.593.100.0 dated the 10.02.2010. Unless of course you know better... ??
The webcam Chicony USB 2.0 CNF7051 is something else.

The drivers for this camera software might work when installed by Toshiba with all the other stuff of Toshiba, and they resolutely refuse to work if you remove the software of all Toshiba with a clean install of Windows 7. The camera works you understand with other software; Messenger or Skype; but on its own... no! I managed to remove the message "the pilot was able to start" and thought that I had a crush, but I now have a message "webcam disabled or has failed.

At least he does when you try to start the software, not on every start at the beginning. So I'll stick to this... unless of course... ??
At times like this I realize why I buy a machine no OEM and install my own operating system and the latest drivers, not the old ones that are provided and not updated by OEM.

In my opinion, it is not difficult to find drivers for Toshiba laptops. You just look for the right place.

Many people with European models of research pilot on the US page and I was wondering why they can't get good portable.

I assume you have the European model so you'll find drivers on Toshiba are supported on the page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.

  • Satellite L300D has recently started to freeze

    Hello

First time poster so hope im in the right place!

My L300D has recently started to freeze on me, he's about right start. If I move the screen slightly it will unlock and I can work on it, but is likely to freeze again with any movement of the laptop, so the constant movement of the screen to thaw it is a bit annoying that you can imagine!

I used compressed air to remove dust from the fans because it had seemed as if it was overheating, but that made no difference.

Is there something simple I am missing or is this tendency to freeze a symptom of the beginning of the end for my laptop?
If anyone has any experience of this / tips for getting on it, it would be well appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Kevin

    Hi bluekev,

I never heard of this issue, but maybe the problem is with the LCD cable... Such a cable wouldn t be expensive and you can get it from an authorized service provider. Also guys can redeem you.

You move only any computer laptop or screen?
I ask this question because it could also be a HARD drive problem, but if you move only the screen I doubt

  • Satellite L300D - how to get rid of the Aston Shell software

    Hello

I bought a new computer Satellite L300D last month and was very happy with it.
Unfortunately, yesterday, by chance, I ran a progrmme called Aston Shell.
My computer the entire screen has changed.

When it came to MacAffee, he asked if I wanted to change my registry. I hit on no.
Now, it will not be closed properly, I don't know where to find my files. He also tells me that there is a trial, thirty days if I fear at the end of the thirty days that my computer will be any good.

Someone told me I should be able to return to the Explorer of Windows through my preferences and my BONES should not be affected.
I don't know what that means. It has been suggested also not uninstall Aston until I do it.
Although I am grateful to that person to get advice here, I don't know what to do. I'm a little bit of panic.

Can someone help me please. Thank you.

    Hello

I think you should simply set the back bone to the point of time at the beginning.
Vista and XP supports this feature called System Restore tool.

Check this tool and turn the BONES until that time before the Aston shell has been installed.

    I think it should work!

  • Satellite L300D - impossible to find HWsetup, boot from the CD

I have a big problem with my laptop.

Sound on windows xp, I formatted it. All is well now. I wanted to install windows 7, I bought at the store.

I try to install it but the laptop won't boot from the cd. I'm trying to get into the bios, no way to get... I try f2, f4, f8, f12, esc at the beginning that nothing worked. Ive was searching the Internet for more than 8 hours now and apparently I need HWSetup to use my BIOS. No problem, I got it I install on USB (Vista version). When I try to see the priority boot sequence, its empty, I don't see anything. I try to default restor it build a sequence, I moved cd ROM. upward. Reboot, do not work. I see hwsetup and sequence disapeard even once, I tried like time 5 did not work.

I though that it was because it's the version of vista and I am using windows xp now, so I tried to find the HWSETUP for windows xp and guess what, IMPOSSIBLE to find. After a few hours trying, I decided to post here.

So it is impossible to boot to my cd Oh and yes my cd drive works fine.

    Please help me!

    Hi ranmyus,

Hwsetup you can download from the official website of Toshiba if you search through Satellite L300D and Windows XP. For Windows XP, but it is called utilities and * not * HWsetup:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

As far as I know, you can change the boot order in the BIOS if you press the F2 key.
In addition the start menu you can access when you press the F12 key after you have turned on the computer.

It works when you connect an external keyboard?
