• I need assistance with my Palm Treo 650!

  I recently bought a Palm Treo 650, which is Cingular.

  I have TMOBILE, and I read that some people online who have made it possible to make this phone works with the tmobile network.  I looked at a lot of places, and I don't think that its as simple as just get an unlock code.

  In general, to use a Cingular phone on a different network, you should get an unlock code from AT & T. If AT & T won't cooperate, certain third parties claim to know the algorithm to calculate the unlock code and it will sell to you. Buy at your own risk. Please note that most phone only allow a small number of unlock attempts before they turn off unlocking, you can be as few as 1 or 0 tent left on your 650.

  Once the phone is unlocked, if you insert a T-Mobile SIM card, it should work. I used a 650 Cingular unlocked with a SIM from T-Mobile to the United States, as a test, then used with a French SIM card when I was in Europe. No problem.

  (Read the unlock code has been the biggest challenge. Fortunately, the phone was a hand of a current AT & T customer, so they are cooperative, even though they we confuse first giving us code for 680 my friend...)

  I had a Treo 700wx.  I used Microsoft Outlook to synchronize my treo.  So I just hooked to the storm and said Desktop Manager to synchronize with Outlook.  All my contacts, calendar, tasks and memos were transferred easily.

  The hotsync Manager create you any duplicates.

  Clean the database of contacts in Outlook, you need hard reset your Treo, set the desktop hotsync conduits replaces handheld and then synchronize.

  There is a 3rd party app that will remove duplicates in Outlook.

  One thing that you may not be aware is that Palm desktop 6.2 lines already installed Outlook 2007, there is no need to install the update for Outlook 2007 lines.

  You can remove the update 2007 conduit using the control panel.

  I just got the new Tour.  I've been using the Palm Treo and Palm Desktop (v 4.1.4).  1: the BB Desktop manager does NOT ask for name/password of the device, as indicated on this site.  2nd AND MAIN QUESTION: when BB starts to pass data from one platform to the other, it invariably gets stuck in the first transaction (calendar) on file 3724 3385, how it is listed as "not responding" and the same message comes back to Palm Desktop.  By another post, I adjusted the settings in Hot Sync related to the calendar to 'do nothing', but still experiences the same problem.  Help, please!  If I can't get these documents (including contacts) in the BB, it is worthless for me.

  Thanks for the suggestions. What ended the work has been upgraded to the latest version of Palm Desktop (v6.2) syncing the Palm Treo to Outlook (instead of Palm Desktop) and then sync Blackberry to Outlook.  Nothing else has worked, but now the contacts and calendar are in the Blackberry which was the goal.

• Problem Bluetooth with Palm Treo Pro

  I just bought a Jensen with Bluetooth receiver and I can't seem to get my Treo Pro to connect so I can use the hands-free function. I tried even after installing the latest patch. I tried with my 680 and it worked like a charm. Can someone tell me if this problem is common with the Treo Pro? And also how can I solve this problem.

  Hey this is izzynice3. you helped me with the ringing of the 650 unlocked. I had to open another account because it wouldn't let me in. you really seem to know what you're doing.  I have a few questions if you don't mind.  My treo was flashed to metro if the browser is called blazer. Internet works fine except when I try to play a video from like you tube or tmz.  He always says that this type of link is not supported (0 x 1511)... Is there anything I can do to fix this. Also, the minitone thing worked fine. I tried to use the online manual to assign different ringtones to different contacts. He showed that there is a ringtone to the contact edit traction, but I don't have that. ???

  When you use the Blackberry Desktop Manager to move my Treo info to my new Blackberry Curve 8330, it sticks to the calendar #256 entry.  I went through some of the pages of tutorial and support of the Web site without success.  Any advice?

  The problem is that you have an attachment (or more) in the calendar, you must remove the attachment on the calendar.

  I just bought this laptop on Amazon, and to be honest, did not consider the operating system.
  I have programs that only runs under XP and frankly can't get into Vista.

  Is it possible to downgrade to XP? Do I have to buy the software? There was a leaflet presenting the phone promising a free upgrade to windows 7, but online I found it was expired. Would Toshiba downgrade me to XP for free and if so, where, in their site?

  Downgrade from Vista to XP isn't possible, you need to do a clean and new installation. Generally, you need a Microsoft Windows XP disk to install XP. By the way, the disc should contain at least SP2 or SP3 to best.

  As Timox writes for this model, you can get all the drivers on the Toshiba site. Here, you can download all the drivers and tools for your laptop and that kind of thing is also pretested by Toshiba.

  Hello good and welcome on Palm forums.

  Take a look at this page on the Palm website.  It gives you directions to move data from your Treo to your pre.

  With respect to the data on your SD card, the Pre and Pixi use SD cards.  Palm has included the storage space on the device.  To move your data, use an SD card reader to make the card appear as a hard drive on your Mac or PC.  Then, once you have your Pre or Pixi, connect it to your computer in USB drive mode and copy the documents that you want to move to your new phone from the SD card to the storage space on the pre or Pixi.

• Problem of warranty with Satellite L450D-11V

  Hello.

  I just need some advice here.
  I own a Toshiba Satellite L450D-11V with a years warranty. I bought it in the city of Belfast in the United Kingdom.
  So that travel in Asia one of my Ram chips burn for some reason, and when I arrived in Australia, I had to get it replaced.
  Now the chip grilled while the laptop was under warranty, but at the time where I got to the shop in Australia, it was a month after the expiration of the warranty.
  It cost me a cool $ 194.00 to get a new chip in it as I understand, it was a Toshiba registered shop.

  Basically, I want to know who do I contact about this because I kept the broken part and any reception and relieved of taxes for the expenses.
  I understand it has been repaired after expiration of the warranty and so I am not able to get help, but I'm being honest when I say that it happened before hand and I'm pretty sure there's a way to check when it is grilled.
  If anyone can point me in the right direction or give me some advice, I'd appreciate it.

• Treo 650 Z and keys are switched

  Has recently had problems with my Treo 650 for several years. Verizon has sent a replacement 650. One of the issues of the old Treo remains. It seems that the keys Z and Y on the keyboard are switched, i.e. Z type a Y and Y Z of type. How can I fix it?

• Satellite L450D-11V - update recovery partition

  On my Satellite L450D-11V with Windows 7 Premium 64-bit, Tempro today said there is an important update that replaces the recovery partition with a new, to overcome the problem of error message on portable computers with more than 4 GB of RAM. Although I have only 3GB, it says that the update is for everyone because it can go to more than 4 GB in the future.

  It is all very well, so I downloaded and tried to run the .exe unpacked, but at half way through the installation, he stops and tells me that the update is only for 64 bit versions of Windows 7... which is mine. I got it for five days, it came with Windows 7 Prem 64 bit and I certainly did not use 32-bit downgrade DVD and it says clearly "64 - bit operating system" in my computer.

  Update do you mean exactly? Can you post information please as filename, etc.. ?

  Normally there is no recovery partition. There is only one file called HDDrecovery on the second partition where you can reinstall Windows from this folder. On Vista and Windows 7, there is a hidden partition but it s the Windows recovery environment and has nothing to do with Toshiba.

  Moreover, I don t use TEMPRO because install updates manually if it of necessary.

• Satellite L500 - 11V - Black Bars top and right side

  After searching Google for a week now, I have yet to find a satisfactory solution to this, which seems to be a common problem. I have the Satellite L500-11V, with Windows 7 installed all the latest drivers from the site Web of Toshiba and the BIOS update to 2.10. The laptop was works well, and then all of a sudden this week display seems to have evolved over the left and down. Now I have a black stripe on the top and right side of the screen!

  Also, I noticed the maximum resolution is 1280 x 800, I had put it at 1280 x 720 if I can see the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

  Toshiba or Intel (as I have 4500 Mobile Intel Chipset) never have solved this problem...

  Would appreciate some answers to this annoying problem.

  Native resolution for this 15.6 display is 1366 x 768.
  You can choose the resolution in the display settings?

  It is not easy to understand what the problem is here, but as a first step try to reinstall the Intel display driver please.
