Satellite A10-S403D: NO start UP but the LED code flashes (flash)

Hello

I want to understand what is happening to my Satellite.

When I try to start it, it does absolutely nothing but orange flashing:
Short-Long, short-short-Long, short, Long, Long

How can I understand the meaning of the code please? :-(

Thank you very much for your help!
Bye bye!

Hello

It is a firmware simply displayed if no hardware problem have been located on the motherboard.
The LED provides this firmware and only the technician can read this code.
OK, you will probably be able to read this code, but you will find all the details on the meaning of the code.

I found a useful description how to read such a code.

Hi, everything was fine... until I put the champions league final on! My phone was on and fine, I then put an installation disc (AXIS AND allies)-it to half way through and it stopped - no power left in the battery!

Well it would have been ok, but it was connected to the sector! The adapter green light was on and the amber light. I checked the adapter - it was fine - not bad etc, then the battery. I tried to turn it on with just the Commander dashboard and without battery, but that didn't work.

All that is happening today is lights indicate the ca is to and active, but after a few minutes, when the power of the battery falls down the captain goes out when battery don't--and just then turn it back on but the laptop is off!

    Hi Paul

Please be careful with this case. It is possible that there is a problem of electronic power supply. In my opinion, it should be checked. In my opinion, you must contact ASP in your country and explain to them the situation.

  • Go off & on several times before the monitor turns on. Comp seems to start OK but the problem is with the screen.

Original title: XP start help please...

... are to be turned off & on several times before monitor lights. Comp seems to start OK but the problem is with the screen. Do I have to make a boot disk & if so - HOW?

    Hello

    ·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         Did you check the connection of the cable to the monitor?

    ·         Have you tried to update to the latest graphics card and motherboard chipset drivers?

First, try to connect your monitor to a well known PC, maybe the old laptop that you use now. If the monitor works, the problem is with the video card in your PC. If the monitor does not light, the monitor. It is usually cheaper to buy a new monitor that in order to be an old repaired, unless the monitor is still under warranty.

Try connecting a monitor well known to your PC. If the monitor works, your old monitor is fried and needs to be replaced.

If your monitor works when connected to another PC, the problem could be your video card. First, and then you turn on your PC, the power and cooling case fans run they. If they do not, it could be the power supply.

Then, open the computer case. Before you do anything inside, unplug the power supply.

IMPORTANT! Touch any metal part of the computer case to connect to the PC. A single static spark can destroy computer circuits.

If the video card is the type of card that plugs into a slot on the motherboard, remove the screws or attached at the top of the card, remove the card, to manipulate the card by the edges to avoid disturbing the circuits on the card, carefully and re - install the card. Sometimes simply reinstalling the card corrects the problem.

If this does not work, replace the video card with a card of similar type. Perhaps now is the right time for an update of video card.

If the video card is integrated into the motherboard, you can install a new card in one of the PCI slots on the motherboard. When the PC starts for the first time, go into the bios and disable the onboard video.

  • Satellite Pro P100-124 starts upward, but nothing on the screen

    Hello world

I'm a newbie here & laptop but my companion got a satellite Pro P100 (Toshiba Satellite Pro P100-124 PSPA4E-001001EN) & it is my asked for help. Here's the problem:

Laptop starts to go through the procedure of starting with lights coming and cd player starts to work the rotation of fans, but nothing shows up on the screen

I said it could be the graphics card but could do with a starting point, I'm PC savvy but on the desktop, it's my first attempt at a portable computer so please be nice...

    Hello

    Have you tried this thing?

->, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter from the portable computer
    -> waiting for ~ 30 min 1 h
-> connect the two parts again and try to turn on the device

If this will not help, then it would mean that a hardware problem serious causes this problem and you will need to contact a Toshiba ASP technician to know exactly what s wrogn.

  • Satellite P10 554 turns off, can't start again, but the lights still burning

My P10 554 stops after a few minutes. After that, I can't restart, but led lights are always on fire. When I'm waiting for a few minutes or a few hours, then I can restart my laptop once again, but it spans about one or two minutes and then stops himself again...

I thought about a problem with the fan or something like that, but why the led still is on fire after stopping? What can I do?

If the AC adapter is plugged in to the computer some LEDS are usually on. For example the battery LED lights up green when it s fully charged.
However, it s not usual that the laptop stops after several minutes of race and for me it certainly looks like a hardware failure.

The problem is just a common user like me and you is not usually able to fix or to locate the fault. You certainly need a help of a technician with a lot more experience.
The guys from the ASP can run diagnostic tests and are able to find out what's wrong on the Board.

  • Satellite A10 - does not start correctly

I have a Satellite A10 and I can't start even last known good configuration or in safe mode does not work and if it starts it will take much time but a blue screen appears and indicates that an error has occurred and prevent any damage on the hard disk.
I put in the recovery cd, but I do not have the cause of xp, it is said start windows 98 but im on a xp pro I got when I bought the laptop. So, if any of it can help?

    HI Johan,.

If you are unable to boot from your hard drive, then your only other option will be to boot from a CD-ROM.

Most of the commercially available backup utilities (Norton Ghost, Acronis True Image, etc.) include such a bootable CD. Supplied with your laptop product recovery CD is very probably a stripped down version of Norton Ghost, which is specifically designed to format your hard drive and then restore an image of 'Phantom' of the original OEM software.

It is quite possible for your hard drive to be damaged and have still LED lights when it is accessed. The damage might be the physical mechanism of the player, or the lining of the surface of the platters etc.. A CD bootable one of backup utilities will probably include a version of CHKDSK, you can run to test the integrity of your hard drive. Norton, for example, include a copy of Disk Doctor.

If you have a copy of the original Windows installation CD, you can boot from that in the recovery console and try to repair what is damaged on your hard drive, assuming that the problem is that the damaged or missing files. In principle, you can use the XP Home Edition CD to do this only if the damaged files are not specific to XP Pro to which cases they will not on HE drive.

    Hello

What you can do is to change some parameters in the Toshiba Power Saver.
I assume you are using this tool and it s preinstalled on your system

OK, you can find the Toshiba Power Saver in the control panel.

Access the GST and chose the details of you power mode.
Then switch to the power saving (second tab) and set the method of cooling for maximum performance.

This should increase the fan speed and cooling performance.

  • Satellite A10: Is it possible to upgrade the processor without changing all the other components

I wonder if anyone might know if it is possible to update by Satellite A10 CPU without changing other components. The laptop has CPU Celeron [R] 2.50 GHz 2.49 GHz, 752MB of RAM.

    Hello

If you look at the technical side, then it s surely possible.

But I can say such things why not:

-performance you earn is based on the costs you have marginal
-you lose your warranty if you open your machine and you want to dare the revocation of your warranty?
-the cooling system is aligned to your CPU, in addition, you will need to write such things as CPU microcode. If the tools to write this weird firmware are available for toshiba technicians and not us :(

I have tried several times with all my toshis and believe me: lose money and be disappointed is a very pleasant pastime :)

  • Satellite L30 PSL33E won't start at all - the LED blinks 6 times

    Hello

My poor mother is quite upset! Its Satellite L30 PSL33E just died.

It completely off and now won't start at all.
Orange light flashes six times when you press the power button.
No hard drive, fan, screen or any other noise / activity.

    She tried without the battery.

A kind of hardware failure, I guess.

Any ideas what this blink code means?

    Thanks in advance,
    D.

I put t know what the code means, but you can read it. short means 0 and 1 long

In any case, the error code means that a hardware failure has been detected on the motherboard and motherboard replacement could help you?
    Why?

because what is really hard to fix a motherboard for laptop very s.
It especially not possible if you n t s have sufficient knowledge, experience, and special tools.

I think that either you contact the ASP in your country and ask a difficulty or you'll have to buy a new laptop ;(

  • Satellite A300-1NO - webcam does not work, but the LED lights

    Hello!

I have a laptop Satellite A300-1NO, with Win 7 installed. My problem is that my webcam does not work always, when I want to use it. Sometimes, it works perfectly in Skype, WLM etc... but sometimes I see a white or a black screen with a 'loading circle' in there. Blue is the LED light, I can see it in Device Manager too, but there is no picture, just 'loading '. I tried to uninstall the driver and then reinstall it, I installed the new "camera Assistant for Toshiba", without success.

Is there any solution for this?

    > Is there any solution for this?
I put t think there is solution for this. If I understand you right there is a problem with software pre-installed. It is not easy to say why this is happening.

I have Satellite A300 too and use it with Win7 32 bit. Webcam works fine all the time.

One more thing: have you noticed this problem in the first moments after installing Win7 or later?
Have you installed something that may be the reason for this?

  • COM/LPT ports on Satellite A10 lost and can't use the modem

My Satellite A10 lost ports, and I can't use my modem.
    What can I do?

    Hello

I think you should remove the modem from Device Manager. Restart the machine and the operating system should recognize the modem again. Then you can reinstall the modem driver.
All this should be done automatically and you need t to add all ports.
The properties must be enabled if you have administrator rights.

    Thanks and good luck

Driver Toshiba is recognized by XP and everything seems to work fine except the drive is still empty.

This phenomenon is the same when using original burner XP or Nero.

    Hello

Have you tried burning different media?
Not all CD or DVD is compatible with the player.
Usually, you should find tested and compatible media in the user manual which must be preinstalled on the laptop.

I m not 100% sure, but as far as I know the reader doesn t write on + media
I recommend you to test some different manufacturers of disc form.

Just FYI; I use TDK and I m very happy.
