• Satellite A100: Cannot install recovery after having deleted the Ubuntu partition

  Hello friends,

  I have the Satellite A 100. I was using dual OS - windows vista home edition and Ubuntu. Now I wanted to remove Ubuntu and so I did the stupidest thing - directly delete the partition with Ubuntu which had the GRUB files. Then to the laptop computer restart of course the Grub bootloader wasn't there and if the computer is not started or load any OS. Then I thought that I will reinstall Vista with product recovery CD but the progress reached at 2% and then I keep getting error 1117 a failure to read. I tried so many times without success. I even tried to install XP, but it says Intel boot agent cannot make connection. And it also fails.

  Please help to reinstall Vista or XP. I'm really stuck and I learned a lesson not to tinker in mobile when it isn't those of Cup of tea!

  You will not be able to run EasyBCD because you are not able to boot Vista.
  EasyBCD can be installed only in Vista and will allow you to change the Vista Boot Manager.

  I think you need to format the entire disk HARD again should erase all partitions and must attempt to reinstall Vista.

  I recommend using a free tool called GParted LiveCD. Google for what it helps format the HARD drive!

• Cannot install VAP on Satellite L40

  I have a model of Satellite L40 - S13, which I formatted today. In this process, I installed Win 7 (32 bit).

  Now, the FN keys do not work. I read, so I have to install the Flash Cards Support utility and Vaule added package.

  The installation of the Flash Cards Support utility has no problem, but I can't geht the VAP to work. I tried the version of Win 7 and vista version. I always get the following error message: ID_ERR_NOTINSTALLTVALZ_MESSAGE.

  So I read, I have to update my bios. I downloaded the update to the Bios of toshiba home page, but even that does not work.

  Can you help me please, I'm kind of stuck here. Searched the Internet for hours and downloaded like 20 different packages...

  It is sometimes problematic to install and get configuration working 100% on old machines with Win7.
  For example, I installed Win732bit on two Satellite A300 with no problems. I installed VAP only without flash cards support utility and everything works perfectly, so I think you don t he need for your L40, no more, just VAP.

  Have you tried already?
  Now is better to install OS again and start over.
  After that OS installed driver chipset display driver, driver sound utility password and then VAP.

  It is not so easy.

  VAP contains all the modules necessary and you n t need to install other tools in order to install VAP
  I think that it s a Vista may issue you should do a clean install, then you must update the Vista for the last State.
  After have installed all the patches Vista, try to install VAP and other tools.

  Have you had problems with the previous version?
  Isn't it? So why you want to update? Just because Tempro says there's a new update?

  In any case try to manually download the VAP.
  means that you should visit Toshiba Europe page.
  Save the PPV on the HARD drive and unzip it.
  Uninstall the VAP old everything first, clean the registry with CCleaner.
  Then try again to install VAP

  I brought a new SATELLITE A100 series laptop, during the configuration and installation of new soft, I find myself with that.

  1. I am able to install the Toshiba Virtual Sound, it gives error on install start-> "Toshiba Sound only is not supported on your virtual machine".

  2 another problem is Toshiba Power Saver, cannot start Control Panel or taskbar, it gives an error Fatel error 0x3F0, I am able to switch between the different profiles using Fn + F2 keys.

  One, can help me to solve this problem.
  I am using Windows XP Pro SP2.

  1.) for me the error message seems very clear. It seems that you have used fake utility Virtual Sound. It is not designed for your laptop model.

  2.) I found several assignments with power saver same fatal error 0x3F0 and in each of theses cases the installation of the Toshiba recovery CD has solved the problem.

  PS: I want to add some useful information: I checked the page of the Toshiba driver and found two different sets of satellite. Don't mix the two series. It is possible to s that the drivers will not work.
  Additional you have to follow the installation guide lines that are in the document on the Toshiba page installation instructions.
  Incorrect installation order could be a reason for the driver and the malfunction of the tools

  With much hope and reputation, in the month of October 2007 (app) I buyes a Toshiba Satellite A100 series laptop. When I buy I was told that the laptop contains an Intel Dual Core processor, and even being mentioned as a label on the laptop. Seeing that I bought the laptop.

  After the purchase of laptop with the same hope, thinking that thosiba will give good service, I tool a warrantry of extension for another two years.

  After a few days of my purchase of laptop I got to know that the laptop doesnot contain processor dual-core Intel but is to have the Intel Core Duo processor that I don't want any.

  Immediately I took the laptop to nearest HCL care in chennai, they took the laptop protographs, xerox copies of my purchase and the warranty extension books and informed me that they will come back to me. I've been in regular contact with them during the month of may, but they have not responded to this.

  Now it's almost more than 1 year and the issue is not resolved

  We hope that you will look like this. I write here waiting for that I will get some justice at least at this point of time

  I think the sticker on your laptop is the same as on any other laptop, so I think that you don t have a bad processor installed in your laptop.

  I have the cd - key stuck at the bottom of the laptop, but I wanted to know I will be able to use a disc windows xp home SP3 install or do I need a disc of xp without service pack home?

  It s advised and recommended to use a Windows XP disk that includes at least SP2.
  If your Win XP disk is not contains SP2 or SP3, then you could create a clean Win XP disk and could include service packs using nLite.

  Google for nLite in order to get more details about this nice tool.

  I have a Satellite A100 and I can't connect to internet after seeing my reg / cleaned by uniblue, and for the love of me can't get a connection.

  I eat to get my hub connected to the internet, but my laptop just will not allow connection, it's a MCE and it works perfectly fine. I had so many divergent answers at different addresses, all ways said it that another provider has control or error 678. It seems that it's a question of access between the provider of my IP and my system provider does not communicate through this PROTOCOL and my XP PROFESSIONAL system.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite A100, model PSAANA-04E005 under Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 32-bit. I am wanting to sell, but have all my programs stuff etc I want to erase files and be able to convey simple with system also when I bought. Memory (purchased January 2007) gave me a Toshiba Recovery with this power drive do something if I needed it's of course is not the case to be foundI.

  Is there anyway I can fix this? All I can download etc to do this?

  If you n t find the recovery disk more and you want to restore the original settings, ask an authorized service provider. Guys can put in order a new disc of recovery for you.
  You have the address of the guy?

  Alternative, you can also sell the laptop without recovery disks. Just wipe the HARD drive before selling it with the HARD drive like s boot cleaning tool Darik and nuke or some other program.

  But I think you get a better price if it comes with recovery disks ;)

  Intel Storage Manager, you can download on the Intel Web site. In the Readme file, you can see what chipsets are supported, but as far as I know the package contains drivers for all of the newer chipsets.

  The easiest way if you have a floppy drive, you must download the Configuration utility from floppy on Intel sites. This creates a floppy disk with the drivers.

  Otherwise, you must extract the .exe file. More information you can find in the readme file.

  The different Geforce graphics chips are supported values of up to 256-bit
  As far as I know this laptop with GeForce Go 7600 Code name G73M graphics controller takes in charge a time memory 1000 MHz 128-bit memory interface.

  Hi, I'm fixing a Satellite A100 for someone. I can't get the video on the LCD display, an external monitor, either the s-video port.
  The system turns on and you hear the fans from the looks of the lights, the HDD seems to start windows.
  I reinstalled the two RAM modules and tried to use the FN + F5, but no luck.

  Sorry but I don't understand this question. I have 3 years old A100 (PSAA9E) and it works perfectly. If keyboard suddenly stop to answer should I think it may be a common problem with this model of laptop?

  Back to your problem: FN + F5 will work if the operating system is fully loaded. You hear sounds? You don't see anything on the screen?
  Experiment with RGB port also.

  Rename the package for example in "display driver" and then uncompress the package.
  Then go to the folder where the driver was decompressed and then launch the installation.

  Verify that all services in msconfig have been activated after the installation of VAP.
  Otherwise, you need a system restore that allowed the recovery of HARD drive and you need to restore the phone to factory settings.
