Satellite A105-S4064: memory upgrade Questions
Hello
I plan on upgrading the ram in my Toshiba A105-S4064 (preinstalled with 512 MB). I wanted to discover a few questions, if I could.
First of all, what RAM would be compatible to install in housing, no?
Second, the size of the new RAM should be the same as the RAM that is already installed (in other words, 512 MB)?
In addition, only adding the new RAM to a laptop invalid warranty Toshiba?
Thank you very much for your help!
Hello
I see that you have several questions about upgrading memory on your A105
OK I'll try to make the best, I hope ;)Firstly you can upgrade the memory and the warranty still valid
Upgrading memory hasn t any bad influence on the validity of the guaranteeSecond, you can mix the sizes of memory. for example, you can use 256 + 512 or 512 + 1024 MB, etc.
This is possible because you can upgrade it to 4 GB maxAnd now finally something you kind of compatible modules it looks like you could use a DDR2 PC2-4200 533 MHz modules
I hope this info will help you :)

Subject: Driver issues in Satellite A105-S4064
I recently had to wipe a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S4064 of my fiance because of many viruses and spyware. I did the reinstall with XP pro. She had none of its original CD that came with the laptop, so I had to try to download all my drivers on Toshiba USA website. I was able to get the wireless, LAN, and Audio devices installed successfully by pilots on the Web site. I am only able to find a NVIDIA driver on the Toshiba site but when I try to run the setup it's just errors out because the display device is not a NVIDIA product.
The thing that got me really confused was that I checked Device Manager before I wiped the initial installation and the display driver that was listed was a Mobile Intel (R) 945 GM. I went on the Intel site and downloaded their Intel 945GM Express chipset family drivers but the following devices still have points of exclamation mark next to them in my device manager: display the device software modem and mass storage device driver. I searched high and low on the Toshiba site and cannot find the drivers that appear to work correctly. Can someone help me find the drivers I need to get the last of my devices installed correctly? Thank you very much for your time, I appreciate your help!
You are right. I checked the specifications of the laptop and it is listed Intel Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Graphics Chip. I really don't understand why the NVIDIA card is listed on the download page.
In any case when you want to install the drivers, you must follow a sequence of installations. After the installation of the OS, you need to install driver chipset first. After doing this display driver installation. Continue with sound, modem, and LAN driver.
According to this order of facilities, everything should be OK.

Satellite A105-s4064: where to find the Ethernet controller (LAN) driver?
Hello, I was recently forced to reformat my Satellite A105-s4064 due to some virus problems, and now when I look at my device manager my Ethernet controller is not installed.
I checked the main site and they don't have an Ethernet controller I've ever seen.
I can just be giving on it or research in the field of evil, but anyone know where I could find the Ethernet Controller driver for my laptop?Thank you
ChrisFirst of all, it would be interesting to know which driver LAN do you need? XP or Vista
Second, the A105 laptop is an American series. I know that because of the last digit in the model number. 5 at the end means that it is a series that was designed for the American market and you need to find the drivers on the Web from Toshiba site we!
However, if I understand correctly, you have already activated the Device Manager and the network card is not in the network adapters. There is an unknown device. Am I wrong?
Often the LAN chip must come from Realtek. Then maybe you should try to download the driver directly from the Realtek page.
Check it out

Satellite A105-S4064 - need drivers XP for LAN, video, Audio
Hello
I recently had to do a clean install of my Satellite A105-S4064 and have had problems to get the right drivers for it.
On the Toshiba site, it lists only 4 drivers for XP for my model, even if that's what it came installed with. The video driver list and sound do not yet work for me.
I need drivers for the modem, LAN, video, Audio, please.
Any help would be a great help!
Thank you
Ken
Hello
On the page of the Toshiba driver we you can find the right driver for XP graphics card.
At the moment the page provides a display driver nVidia GeForce (v83.02, 19/01/2006)I also found a driver of his right. It s a Realtek audio driver.
If you need a more recent version, then I recommend to visit the site Web of Realtek and download the newest one.But note; the XP SP2 operating system needs and before install you the audio driver you must first install the Microsoft Hotfixes; KB888111 and KB835221
After the installation of these two patches, you can follow with another audio driver installation. It also seems that this notebook would support an Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection - 10/100 Base-TX Lan card
So, you can visit the Intel page to get the right Win XP driver for this Lan chip.Good bye

Satellite M60 - issue CPU upgrade
Hello out there!
I am a happy owner of a Satellite M60.
I recently installed Win7 pro and nothing works well.I was offered a new processor Intel M770 and
now, I would like to hear if anyone has any experience changin processor in a laptop. The M770 have on the same specsas M740 and executes the same 915 chipsets. M770 has a 2.13 Ghz clock and the M740 1.73 revival.
If I swap the processors, my laptop will get faster, or it will explode like a hurricane and disappear into a smokecloud?
Best regards
Mogens> The M770 have on the same specsas M740 and executes the same 915 chipsets. M770 has a 2.13 Ghz clock and the M740 1.73 revival.
Well, generally the CPU upgrade is a really complicated because of the compatibility of the BIOS history, but I think you have a good chance to get the laptop working with new CPU M770. It belongs to the same family of CPU as the old CPU and chipsets support is the same.
In addition, I think that this laptop overheating not using this CPU of course there is more the dissipation of heat thanks to the fastest performance, but I think that the cooling modules should handle thisOf course, it s just my opinion personal and everything what you would do is at your own risk.
Good luck

Satellite Pro A10 CPU upgrade possible? Which processors?
Is it possible to upgrade the Satellite Pro A10 CPU? What processors are supported?
Hello
Usually the CPU upgrade is not possible on laptops because of several reasons.
But as far as I know that this camera was supplied with three different processors:
Intel Celeron P4 - M (Mobile) 2.0 GHz, 2.2 GHz and 2.4 GHz
Well, I put t know if the CPU was only connected or soldered onto the motherboard. However, it s not advisable to change the CPU. It is possible that after CPU change the laptop overheating for example.

Satellite P200-1I4 - CPU upgrade because of virtualization
Hello!
I have Satellite P200-1I4 and I need Intel CPU virtualization technology, but T2370 does not support. Is it possible to change as T7300 CPU or other with virtualization?I know, Toshiba does not support upgrades and so forth... I read the FAQ on the change of CPU, but I need options for my laptop!
Thank you!
JA? NISHello
The first point is that CPU upgrade is always risky, because I think that no one can say if the new processor will be supported the mainbaord, BIOS and chipset.
The hardware installed on your laptop works with preinstalled CPU but not with the other s CPU.The next point is not all laptops have virtualization and the BIOS must also support this. So I guess that your BIOS doesn't have such an option and that means that you cannot use virtualization even if you have a processor that supports this.

I also have the latest version of the v2.0 of BIOS published on 02/11/09.
I am also aware that in General CPU upgrade is not supported and not recommended. http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ7A01ZW0007R01.htm

Hello
Theoretically, the new Intel Pentium M Processor 765 2.10 GHz should be compatible with the motherboard, but the fact is that nobody can say it the laptop would be working properly after this upgrade.
One of the main problems could be the heat dissipation. Stronger CPU develops more heat, and this may affect the functionality of the laptop.
In addition the BIOS was not configured for other processors so it could be a problem.Last but not least as mentioned in the article of Toshiba, the upgrade of the CPU is not supported. So everything can be done simply at your peril!

In Satellite A105-S2236 RAM upgrade problems
I'm working on a Satellite A105-S2236 for a customer. She has Windows Vista Basic - and did not come with 512 MB of RAM, so it is very slow. I went by Crucial and got another chip 512 MB for this computer - after installation, it shows again that 512 - I tried to change the chips, each chip individiually running into the two slots to see if 1 chip or locations did not work, and everything works fine - except with 2 512 chips - it shows more than 512 RAM.
I spent some time on the phone with Toshiba - bascially for them to tell me that the motherboard is picky and will not recognize 2 different brand of chips of RAM. 2 chips are quite identical features except the one who came there is Samsung and the new is Crucial. I can't believe they don't work together.
Someone at - it ideas?
Thank you!
Hello
You won't believe me, but many people have reported the same issue with the essential modules. The best thing you can do is to return and buy products known and of good quality. If you want one, order the module of RAM Kingston. They will work for sure.
Homepage of Kingston. You can find a list of all compatible RAM for your laptop model.

Satellite L755-14Z - CPU upgrade possible?
Hello
Can someone tell me if it is scalable?
If Yes, what socket number is it, can I put an i7 inside?...All links to recommend a site to buy any help appreciated.
Thank you for your time and effort should help you
IanHi mate
I agree with Akuma.
Update CPU is very difficult. The fact is that even if the chipset would support the new processor, it is really hard to tell if the BIOS would be able to manage the new processor. So, in the worst cases, the BIOS will not work with a new game and wouldn't boot the laptop.
But why you want to replace the CPU in L755? This new model of notebook with a good processor.
Even if you want to put a new processor, you will not notice big performance push so I think CPU upgrade is not really necessary in your case.By the way;
Here's a nice Toshiba FAQ* Can I upgrade the CPU, graphics card or motherboard in my Toshiba laptop? *
