Satellite A105-S4384 - a 4GB SDHC work?

Help I can not get my A105-S4384 to see a 60 - HD 4 GB SD chip.

Y at - it an upgrade online that I can download?

I doubt that a SHDC 4 GB card works in the Satellite A105.

Look in your manual, I can only find information that normal SD cards works.

  • Satellite A105-S4384 - how to use the s-video port

What is the way to use a s-video cord to connect my 4384 to use the TV as a display?

I use Linux Ubuntu 8.04... Thank you

    Hello

Usually, you don t need no work around special to make the connection with the external TV.
You must connect the laptop with the TV using the s-video cable.

Please note that the s-video channel must be enabled on your TV.
Then change the video output in the properties of the graphics card.

Using a Windows operating system, you would be able to switch to the external TV by pressing the FN + F5 keys, but as much as I know about Linux OS this function will not work.

  • Re: Satellite A105-S4001 - touchpad no longer works

    Hello

The touchpad on my laptop has stopped working suddenly. The two buttons below are functioning normally, however. When I tried to open a link, I could always do it by gently pressing once the touchpad. Now, it does not so I have to click on the links with the left button. I tried to disable and enable synaptics (in Control Panel as well as by the Fn F9), but to no avail. Any suggestions? I'm afraid that it is something that can't be fixed because the laptop is already quite old (4 years) but I hope someone can prove me wrong.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You should try to reinstall a driver for the touchpad, I think that your model belongs to the region of Usa. So, check here:

  • ENERGY SAVING does not work! Satellite A105

Please read very carefully, as I tried to make it as detailed as possible. I had this problem before, and when I installed the new BIOS driver, it fixed itself. I'm not so lucky this time. Also, please AVOID recommending to use my recovery CD, because I know, it is possible to solve this problem without it, and the restore CD is the easy/practical answer on how to solve this problem.

OK, so I just installed the new BIOS software, and now my TOSHIBA Power Saver won't work. I use a Satellite A105-S4284 on Windows XP SP2. When I start the computer, I get this message:

    TPSODDCtl.exe - Ordinal not found
The 21 ordinal not found in dynamic link TPSMainCtl.dll library.
    Ok

I know that this refers to the power of Eve, but I don't know what to do about this.

In addition, I searched other forums on this issue. When I open the control panel and switch to Classic view, TOSHIBA Power Saver icon is there. I double click on it, and I get this message:

Cannot open, as "TOSHIBA Power Saver" is not running.
In order to run it, please open "Power Options" in the Control Panel, then choose "TOSHIBA Power Saver" in the list box "Power schemes" on Page "power schemes".
    Ok

I open power options, and toshiba power sleep mode is already selected. I tried to apply another and switching back, but this did not help.

I tried to reinstall both the power of Eve AND the common modules on the site of TOSHIBA drivers, and which did not help. I tried to uninstall the energy saver all together, and I get this error message:

Cannot locate the Setup log 'C:\Program Toshiba Saver\uninst.isu. Uninstallation will not continue.

I opened the saving folder in the location above, and there are two files: TPSTrace (a plain text file) and TPwrSetup. $$$ (Note: the ' $' are not mistakes, that's what he said). The plain text file contains this message:

A fatal error has occurred. The program will end. Code: 0x45A location: TPSDel.cpp (230)

Help, please! Thanks in advance for all time!

Looks like something in your system is really messed up. Because you won´t be advised to recover your machine, so I can't give you any suspicion because that would REALLY be the one and the only option to solve this problem.

If some software Toshiba uninstall NOT etc then it won´t repair itself, or it can be sorted out by re-installled or force too install apps...
Maybe you make you a few remarks and then save your files in order to recover your machine?

Would be the best method. Otherwise: good luck!

  • Satellite A105-S361: CD/DVD control buttons not working not

I am facing some problems with my cd/dvd control buttons on my satellite a105-s361 keyboard and I was wondering if there is no reason, I could find why this is so. If it's due to software or hardware problem.

    Please answer.

    Hello

To my knowledge the A105-S361 was designed for the U.S. market and so if it s a software issue you should look on the page of the Toshiba driver we.

I assume you mean the Toshiba control functionality of the buttons.
The utility is not configured or does not work. In this case I would say reinstall this tool and then after phone restart, you might try to install it again.

Note: Don't forget to check the options buttons in the control of Toshiba utility

  • Subject: Driver issues in Satellite A105-S4064

I recently had to wipe a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S4064 of my fiance because of many viruses and spyware. I did the reinstall with XP pro. She had none of its original CD that came with the laptop, so I had to try to download all my drivers on Toshiba USA website. I was able to get the wireless, LAN, and Audio devices installed successfully by pilots on the Web site. I am only able to find a NVIDIA driver on the Toshiba site but when I try to run the setup it's just errors out because the display device is not a NVIDIA product.

The thing that got me really confused was that I checked Device Manager before I wiped the initial installation and the display driver that was listed was a Mobile Intel (R) 945 GM. I went on the Intel site and downloaded their Intel 945GM Express chipset family drivers but the following devices still have points of exclamation mark next to them in my device manager: display the device software modem and mass storage device driver. I searched high and low on the Toshiba site and cannot find the drivers that appear to work correctly. Can someone help me find the drivers I need to get the last of my devices installed correctly? Thank you very much for your time, I appreciate your help!

You are right. I checked the specifications of the laptop and it is listed Intel Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Graphics Chip. I really don't understand why the NVIDIA card is listed on the download page.

In any case when you want to install the drivers, you must follow a sequence of installations. After the installation of the OS, you need to install driver chipset first. After doing this display driver installation. Continue with sound, modem, and LAN driver.

According to this order of facilities, everything should be OK.

  • DVD drive is dead - l need to reinstall XP Satellite A105

    Hello world

My wife went on vacation in Hawaii, and while she was missing, its Satellite A105 (is no more under warranty with a dead DVD player) started to malfunction to the point where XP where freeze at startup.

I tried everything I could, but it wouldn't boot.
So finally I took a DVD USB drive formatted the drive with killdisk and tried to use the recovery disk to at least get the operational unit. Problem is that the unit does not complete the installation I get the following error:

    Windows cannot find c:/bin/errordialog.exe

I thought it was the disk so I cleaned it and still the same thing, since I was a student, I had access to XP pro from the msdn network so I got a copy and still the same error.
I don't have a big enough USB flash drive, and the laptop doesn't have a floppy so I'm stuck with no way to restore the operating system... Needless to say that the wife is not happy with me!

I managed to get Linux installed without problem, but my wife wants his laptop back to xp and will probably hate me until I can correct what I did. Help, please!

    TIA

As far as I know it s is not possible to boot from the CD/DVD USB drive and reinstall the operating system by using this procedure.

I would recommend therefore to replace the CD/DVD drive with a new, then boot from the Toshiba Recovery CD.

The CD/DVD drive is an essential device for laptop and it is worth having a what functions and trouble free work.

  • Error in device IO after installing Vista on Satellite A105-S334

    Need help please!
Recently, I did a full restore of my computer Toshiba Satellite laptop.
My computer came pre-installed with Windows XP Media Center edition.
I had upgraded to Windows Vista, which was one of the worst computer decisions I had made.

That's why... I did the full restore with the factory restore disk that came with my laptop.
Before restoring, my CD player worked fine.

Now all I get is an error message "the request cannot be performed because of an i/o device error."
When I put in the disc, I can hear it turn. I see even my mouse cursor will turn to a disc as if she was about to open the drive, but the error message.

I tried to reinstall the driver... no luck. I also tried to change IDE properties that don't seem to work either.

    Someone please help!
If it helps, I have a rug * drive his DVD Ram UJ - 841 S Satellite A105-S334. I can't boot any CD, however, if a disc contains a few documents, it will open up very well!

    Help, please.

Stand by. I'm a bit confused.
If I understand you right you can use the drive as a boot device and boot media is readable, but you cannot use the drive just under the operating system. Am I right about that?

Have you noticed this problem right after the clean install of OS? Did you remove some pre-installed software components? Did you install additional software for burning CD/DVD?

  • Satellite A105-S2051: common Module not found. This configuration will be terminated

    Hello

I installed Windows XP but when I try to install any utility (like the Hotkey Utility) I get the message:

TOSHIBA common Module not found. This configuration will be terminated.

I can't find the "Toshiba ACPI common Modules for Windows XP" on the Toshiba web site. I tried the web site in English,

I tried every single link in the support for the Satellite A105-S2051 page.
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

There is nothing like the Module 'common '.

I have lived a great incredible waste of time while searching for the reader.

So please, any help would be welcome.

    Hello

I found Toshiba ACPI common Modules for Windows XP (Toshiba value-added Logic Device) in some different sets of Satellite A105.

    For example: A105-S271 A105-S2711 A105-S361 A105-S3611, A105-S2719, A105-S2712, A105-S2713, A105-S2716, A105-S2717

Go for no apparent reason the A105-S2051 is not there.

However, try the Toshiba ACPI common Modules of different A105.

    Maybe the latter won't work.

  • Satellite A105-S361 wouldn't boot CDrom or PXE Linux

    Hello

I just bought a toshiba satellite A105-S361, I deleted all partitions & installed Linux operating system. After a few days, I find that, although everything works perfectly, I can't boot from the CDrom or network (PXE). No matter how I change the settings in the BIOS, it is just try to boot from the CD or network, it goes straight to the startup hard disk!

I was wondering if the hidden partition that toshiba use for its "express media player", has nothing to do with helping start the laptop cdrom/lan as well!

Otherwise, no idea why I can't boot from them?
I'm really worried how to fix my laptop, should I have to re - install any OS!

    Hello

First of all, you have installed Linux on the unit and Toshiba doesn't support this OS.
Toshiba delivered and designed only with a Microsoft Windows operating system.
I don't know if your question has anything to do with LINUX on your laptop but if the function m worked with the Windows operating system, so it must be a Linux question.
