Satellite A200-23O: Vista Home Premium how to set time battery

Hello
My A200 with preinstalled Vista only shows battery remaining percentage % time, but not her remaining battery in hh. My previous notebooks could display the time remaining on the battery on XP and one of my friends is using another laptop with Vista Business and the remaining life of the battery is available there also.

I updated my BIOS to 2.4, but it still does not work. How can I make it work?

Kind regards
GH

Good question. Wanted to get this posted on my laptop too. But what I found after hours of searching with google has been, that this feature is hardware based.
I have a Toshiba laptop and another machine, one with XP and one with Vista Ultimate. None of them shows the time of the battery percentage only.

I read you can install some 3rd party applications so that this works, but do not know if there are programs for Vista too or even if some of these tools are installed, it will work.

  • After a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium, how long will it take to run updates and it will take a lot of bandwidth?

updates after clean install of Vista Home premium

I plan on upgrading the hard drive on my laptop two year old, which will require a clean install of Vista Home Edition full.  I live in a remote with the satellite internet service.  I would like to know in advance what will happen after the installation with the updates of the program.  I will ask you to install them? It would take a lot of bandwidth?

    Hi EllenCB,

Welcome to Windows Vista community responses.

Once you make a clean installation on your hard drive is erased. Now, when you install the operating system return updates that have been deleted will be delivered by Windows update to install on your computer. To save time and bandwidth, you can directly install Service pack 1 and Service pack 2 for Vista which would contain more updates. Of course when you run Windows update and when you try to download from the internet, your download speed will decrease. It is best to keep your system up to date which will allow your version of Windows to run better.

Before installing the update, run the checksur tool, this tool is running an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations. Download the tool from the link below.

  • have to reactivate Vista Home Premium (for the second time), but did not have the product key - thinking that I had to upgrade to Windows 7 instead.

Now, I had recover and restore to factory settings on my PC for the 2nd time in 2 years (I think a problem for Vista?).  Rather than activate Vista Home Premium (which I did not anyway-25 character product code), I thought it would be beneficial (and relieve another instance) upgrade to Windows 7?  I would appreciate any thoughts. Is that what I do online and Windows 7 will work around the Windows Vista Home Premium?  No risk of problems since Windows 7 is new?  I basically use it for home, but like following applications.  Windows 7 is having the same issues that has Vista?

You cannot switch to windows 7 since Vista without activation of Vista.

  • Vista Home Premium problem: the system automatically restarts

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 with Vista Home Premium installed on it. I bought it about two years ago. Last month, the laptop always automatically restart. Although I restore the system to its factory, the problem still exist. I also use recovery disk, but it has not solved the problem. And then I intend to reinstall my vista Home premium. However, I don't have an installation disc. This is because as my laptop with Vista Home premium pre-installed on it. How could I get a vista installation disc Home premium? If I contact the manufacturer (Toshiba) or you can get it from Microsoft?
    Thank you

    Andi

original title: problem Vista Home Premium

If the laptop comes with Vista Home Premium installed, then do a restore to factory re-installed this program.

Go to start / computer / system properties and read what is installed on your system.  It's probably Vista Home Premium.  You don't need the disk to re - install anything else (and recovery options will not solve the problem if a full restore to factory settings did the trick).

You can get in trouble with your device drivers (but I doubt it). Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you need you to do all you have time to do - they help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

It seems to me like some kind of hardware problem which is the cause after what you did to remedy.  If the above does not work, then I suggest that you take it for a repair of computer diagnostic and repair shop.  Make sure that you back up your first data as they can wipe the hard drive clean for their efforts.  Before that, you can contact the manufacturer to see if they can offer advice or suggestions (and check how their use to maintain the machine would cost).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • 1IZ satellite A200 with Vista crashes every day without no reason

    Hello guys,.

I have a Satellite A200 with Vista Home Premium installed. In the past months, the BONE is suspended every day, I was not able to detect the reason. nothing is having replied to the questionnaire, not even Ctrl-Alt-Delete, the only solution is to stop from the power switch.
I do not found something wrong in the system log, so I do not know what to do. Toshiba PC diagnostic shows everithing OK.

What can I do? Perhaps a cooling problem? A guide for cleaning?

    Thank you.

    Hello

So to be honest, it's hard to say what are the really causes your system to hang. Possible reasons:

    HIV 1-infected
2 problem of file system Os including drivers, programms...
    3 had to be clean
    hardware problem 4

    I recommend:

    1 search for viruses
2 reinstall the drivers (especially as a vga and chipset drivers). Check installed programs
3 use compressed air jet to blow off the dust from the cooling module.

If this does not help, do a fresh install of the operating system. Then we will see what to do

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A200 - Vista Home Premium to ultimate upgrade

Hi back from the guy with a new query.

"" I'm looking to upgrade Vista Home Premium to Ultimate... checked the requirements of what is known on the "Windows anytime upgrade" site and I can you there is a lot of conflicting ideas on how its all done up to the fact that I would need a disc to upgrade mailed to me.

After reading a few other forums recently, the answer lies in what you guys can or perhaps are not able to advise me... and the question is:

Only the so-called "rescue disk" provided with the purchase, IE the Windows operating system disk... ALL CONTAIN THE ' VISTA "SYSTEMS AVAILABLE..." Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate? and very unlikely, but she coded upgrade or anything like that, as its meant to be to perform upgrades?

Thanks a lot again in anticipation of your kind comments

    Andrew.

Firs of all I think you should know that it is a forum for users and to my knowledge, there is no guy from Toshiba which could provide instructions.
I know, it's, your Toshiba Recovery DVD contains the same Win Vista that was preinstalled on your laptop.
It seems that you bought this laptop with Vista Home Premium and this operating system should be placed on the recovery media.

Please DON t mix the Toshiba Recovery DVD with a DVD of new, original and clean Microsoft Vista.
Toshiba Recovery contains an image include the OS, drivers, tools and additional software.
    It s already active.

The MS Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista but to use a version of Vista that a right serial key must be inserted.

Hope I could make a clarification.

  • Would Satellite U300-11V running Vista Home Premium 64?

    Hi all

    I have a Toshiba Satellite U300-11V

The laptop came with Vista Home Premium (32) and I would like to upgrade to the 64-bit version and I wonder if my hardware is actually compatible with it.

I tried the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor, but that had nothing to do with 32 vs 64...

You can find the full specifications of my laptop to the:
    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/JSP/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?PRODUCT_ID=132428&disc _ MODEL = 1 & service = UK & tab = 2 #2

Any suggestion would be deeply appreciated

    Kind regards
    R

Of course, it s compatible with Vista 64 bit OS.
Satellite U300-11V belongs to the series of PSU30E.
I checked the European driver Toshiba page if a 64 bit Vista drivers are available, but unfortunately, they are not released.

However, you would be able to install Vista 64-bit on your laptop, but you have to collect the drivers Vista 64 bit unique from other series of laptop.

Several series of laptops are equipped with the same features and sometimes, you can use the same drivers on different laptops.

I just bought a laptop with Vista Home Premium, but the software I use, mainly PageMaker and Quark will not charge.

Can I install Windows XP to run alongside Vista and if so, how, or is there another way around my problem

    SOG1943

If the applications you use are not compatible with Vista, then you need the Win XP.
If you want to use the Win XP you must buy and the version complete and install it on the laptop.

    All that s.
