Satellite A200 - Vista Home Premium to ultimate upgrade

Hi back from the guy with a new query.

"" I'm looking to upgrade Vista Home Premium to Ultimate... checked the requirements of what is known on the "Windows anytime upgrade" site and I can you there is a lot of conflicting ideas on how its all done up to the fact that I would need a disc to upgrade mailed to me.

After reading a few other forums recently, the answer lies in what you guys can or perhaps are not able to advise me... and the question is:

Only the so-called "rescue disk" provided with the purchase, IE the Windows operating system disk... ALL CONTAIN THE ' VISTA "SYSTEMS AVAILABLE..." Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate? and very unlikely, but she coded upgrade or anything like that, as its meant to be to perform upgrades?

Thanks a lot again in anticipation of your kind comments

Andrew.

Firs of all I think you should know that it is a forum for users and to my knowledge, there is no guy from Toshiba which could provide instructions.
I know, it's, your Toshiba Recovery DVD contains the same Win Vista that was preinstalled on your laptop.
It seems that you bought this laptop with Vista Home Premium and this operating system should be placed on the recovery media.

Please DON t mix the Toshiba Recovery DVD with a DVD of new, original and clean Microsoft Vista.
Toshiba Recovery contains an image include the OS, drivers, tools and additional software.
It s already active.

The MS Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista but to use a version of Vista that a right serial key must be inserted.

Hope I could make a clarification.

  • Upgrade Vista Home Premium to Ultimate - Windows complete PC Backup and Restore

    Dear Madam, dear Sir

Upgraded my laptop HP DV7 Vista Home Premium to Ultimate, mainly to use Windows complete PC Backup and Restore.

The restore time and unfortunately no option in the boot menu at startup to restore system from images. No menu advanced etc. I guess starting always remains at the level of the premium and does not provide "Windows complete PC Backup and Restore" restore options.

Grants menu of system restore points, with only the last good restore point and no option to select point of previous restoration or system image to restore from.

    Mmmm nice ideas...

    Thanks in advance

    Good day

Complete PC Backup is designed for the reinstallation of the operating system that you have backed up.

You access it to start from a Vista DVD.

My 32 bit HP came with Vista Home Premium which is updated with SP2.   I'm trying to upgrade to Vista Ultimate, but get this message: could not start the upgrade.  To update, cancel the installation and choose to upgrade to a version of Windows that is newer than the version you are currently using. "The choice of installation custom is available, but I n

Uninstall vista SP2 on your computer.

The Service Pack level on your computer does not have to be communicated more top/more later then the Service Pack to upgrade.

If the SP1 upgrade, uninstall SP2 from the computer, etc..

If it is higher on the computer, you must do a clean install, as the upgrade is an earlier version of Vista.

  • Upgrade Vista, home premium to Ultimate 64

I'm currently running Vista Home Premium 64, service Pack2.  I received an upgrade DVD from Microsoft, but it is for Ultimate 64, service pack 1.  When I try to install the upgrade, it indicates that the choice of upgrade is disabled.  Do I need to uninstall service pack 2 before the upgrade?  If so, where can I get instructions on how to do it?

    Yes, you must uninstall it.

Here are the General Info for your problem, I wrote up some time for this:

On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.

Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have install.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537

"How to uninstall Windows Vista service packs"

If the OS installed Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 1 upgrade disk > uninstall SP2 installed operating system > install the upgrade > reinstall SP2.

And run the upgrade of a Vista operating system.

  • Can I use "Microsoft Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade [Home Premium to Ultimate]" upgrade to Professional to ultimate?

"Can I buy" Microsoft Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade [Home Premium to Ultimate] "and use it to upgrade Windows 7 Professional to ultimate?

    # Anytime Upgrade is specific edition.  If Home Premium was the original OS on the computer and then restore it and then use the HP upgrade last month to THE or buy a professional for the last update.

Except if you have language packs that come with Ultimate I'd stay professional.  Professional is expected to support up to 2020, while Ultimate is limited to supported until 2015.

  • Windows 7 Home premium to ultimate upgrade

    Hello

    recently, I bought Y560 with 64-bit Windows 7 home premium (with i7 & 8 GB of RAM).

I was told that in order to better use the resource that the laptop has been it is better to go for Windows 7 Ultimate.

Is this true? It is worth the upgrade to Ultimate?

    Thanks for the tips.

    Vinciane

    Hi Joel,.

It's hard to say. It depends on whether or not you need/want the extra features included in Ultimate. You can find a comparison between Ultimate and Home Premium using the link below. Also remember there are alternatives to these features if you miss one of them it could be cheaper and better to find another application to perform this task alone. It might even be available freeware that can do the same thing.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-7/compare/default.aspx

If you do not miss the extra features, I would say that it is not worth to spend money on an upgrade to Ultimate.

  • Win7 Home Premium to Ultimate upgrade

I have win 7 home premium on my computer and works well.  I want to go to the ultimate with a new disc install ultimate (version integral 64-bit) when I try to install it, and use the 'upgrade' prompt, Setup stops and sent it to me to Microsoft "anytime upgrade page" is anyway I can get around this?  or is the "anytime upgrade" the only way to upgrade to Ultimate? The disc I have nine and possess the product unused key.

Ok. Simply enter the product key when asked to do so. There are a small chance that the upgrade may not work (see the bottom of my first post) If you have two choices: 1) just to check their website for any questions related to the Express upgrade or the Anytime Upgrade 2) call of the factory supported team.

  • Satellite A350 - Vista Home Premium 32-bit or 64-bit

I just bought a Satellite A350 and I installed the 32-bit version of Vista.
I have done this correctly, or should I have installed 64 bit version.

    Thank you, Lisa

    Hello

You can use both versions of Vista; 32-bit or 64-bit
The main difference between the two versions is that the 64-bit version would deal with 4 GB or more of RAM.
The 32-bit version can use only 3, 2 GB of RAM.
