Satellite A200 - 28 p: touchpad will blue and freezes

Hello, can someone give me and my friend were little help, we have all two laptops A200 - 28 p nine and she comes to live this weird problem with the touch pad I first noticed about a week after I bought mine. I was fortunately with the touchpad when suddenly it lit in blue and totally frozen and no matter what I did, he would not answer and I had to force the laptop in (via the Ctrl, Alt and del keys) to get the touchpad to meet once again and he does this to me about 3 times and I thought that maybe it was just me something wrong that I don't hear well with touch keys, find it difficult to use, especially when playing computer games so I bought an external mouse, but he lit blue, once again, since then and that the other night when I forgot my mouse moved and external something using the touchpad but fortunately because of my external mouse could exercise and not have to shut down the laptop.

Now this afternoon my friend just sent me a text explaining why she disconnected as its touchpad has just made this blue light to the top of the thing and froze. There is no warning its will do, one minute the next end, its blue and frozen, anyone else experienced this and if so how to fix what I could not find any help at all, on the basis of knowledge or in my little troubleshooting on the manual.

Well, if his thing like my laptop so do not worry. If you press the top right button where you see the 2 arrows then the touchpad will turn blue because it allows you to use shortcuts and control the volume with her. If he disappears in blue, it out again just tap the upper right corner.

  • Satellite A200-PSAF6A - white screen, will not start

I've had for about a year or more now, out of warranty, and I had no problems so far. The operation of the machine is perfect, done a little warm here and there, but I never had blockages of material etc. The problem lies in the boot process where it lights up but the screen remains black and the HARD drive activity light flashes once, the optical reader clicks like it normally does at the start, and all the normal power supply/battery lights are as they should be, but the laptop will not progress beyond that. The power led remains blue and there is not much activity from the hard drive or any part of the material. This not even the screen of the BIOS at all. At some point, which I suppose because I can't see a pattern emerging in any form, the laptop will emit several beeps and the HDD led starts to blink signifying a boot up is ongoing, but the screen remains blank. At this point, if I turn off the laptop holding the power button / I am sometimes able to start with the display work, but once these things are depend on chance then sometimes it works and sometimes it isn't. Is that a real problem for me because I use this laptop for school and I get sometimes it will feed any or he will, and I'll have to wait a certain amount of time, which could be easily half the class and when he does the beep hard distracted others which is quite annoying.

Now, I went through a lot of similar topics and tried what was said, but to no avail of course. I tried to delete all the components (RAM, HDD, optical drive, Wifi etc.) and reinstalling them that sometimes only a temporary solution. In the RAM slot I have 800 mhz and 1x1GB 667 mhz-1x2GB, I tried various arrangements with the installed RAM and RAM I have around my house, but I have not yet come to a solution. I find that I can't start up with RAM in just the second slot, I guess it's probably normal, but if it's not please comment and tell me otherwise because I read about another solution to a similar problem a person should use the ram in the second slot to get his laptop to start.

My suspicion is that it's to do with a kind of BIOS check or maybe a BIOS corrupted, that I could not resolve without a technician because I am already in the current version of the BIOS. I did not update the BIOS that is not. If not then I'll assume that it is just a fault of power on the motherboard circuit. It's a really weird problem because it works quite well after, and I don't think it's a hardware problem perfectly serious because he wouldn't if it was.

Any help is appreciated on the topic, share your knowledge, if you have had a similar problem because whatever it is would be useful

    Thank you

I'm not 100% sure but I think that the graphics card can be removed. Maybe you have enough experience with replacement of equipment, but laptop disassembly without maintenance manuals can be risky.
I really hope you know what you're doing. Maybe you should contact the nearest authorized and ask for help.

  • Satellite A200-13O: 320 HDD will work?

    Hello

I have a Satellite A200-13O and I wonder such propulsion will work with it:
    Seagate Momentus 7200.3 320 (7200 16 MB, Serial ATA/300, G-Force)
If not, what are the spec max to a hard drive for my laptop model?

    Hello

I think that he should t be a problem using this HARD drive in your laptop A200.
The A200 has been equipped with SATA HDD too.

But as far as I know it's a SATA (SATA/150) HARD drive. You HDD seems to be a SATA II HDD (SATA/300), but the controller is compatible to the bottom and must be able to handle this HARD drive.

  • Satellite A200 28H: F6 floppy will not work when installing XP

    Hello

I am trying to install Windows XP pro on my new laptop (Satellite A200 28 H), and since it needs driver SATA, I downloaded the driver suitable for my laptop (Satellite A200 28 H), put it on a floppy disk for use with a USB floppy drive (which works fine), press "F6" when appropriate and everything... But it simply doesn't. I had training as a technician for a few years, so even thouh that is no longer my work and I might be a little rusty, I think I still know at least a little what I do... Well, apparently I'm more image than I thought!

I've tried several things, and this is what I get:

    * If I don't use all the disks, Windows XP will not find the hard drive. Which was intended, no problems here, don't except for the fact that it is completely useless for me :)

    * If I force the driver on the floppy disk, despite Windows tells me that is already a driver that can be used, then within 10 seconds I get a BSOD with the stop message 0x7B (found or inaccessible boot device).

    * If I use the floppy drive, but do not force the driver and listen instead of Windows ("oh, you already have a driver? ("OK, then, use and too bad that diskette"), I can actually finish the installation process. Windows will copy all the necessary files on the disk, it will even restart correctly after that and moved on. But when the installation is complete, the computer will restart, I'll see the loading for a second screen, and then, BSOD stop 0x7B again.

I'm sure I downloaded the driver for my computer. In fact, I also tried a couple of bad drivers too, just to be safe (IE I use Intel Matrix for ICH8M, but I also tried the ICH7M to be sure), I tried with drivers downloaded from the Toshiba site, on the site of Intel and whatnot-other-website-for-newbies-or-powerusers, and I still have the same behavior as described above.

I tried partitioning / formatting during installation, and I also tried leaving the file system intact. If I do the latter, the only difference is that I have offered 2 possible OS to boot from, the two being Windows XP and both failed miserably.

It's probably worth mentioning that, if I use the recovery DVDs and start over and clean with Vista, I have no problem whatsoever, except for the loaded gazillion process during startup, the RAM already used half and applications useless hundred I don't give a darn on... And the fact that some applications that I need work just can not be installed on Vista.

If anyone has any idea how to solve this problem, I would be very grateful!

    Hello

The procedure, including the SATA drivers in Win XP using the external USB floppy drive is very easy.
First you need to download the Storage Manager and having to put on the diskette.

During the installation of Win XP you must press F6 for inclusion since the external floppy drive and follow the new instructions on the screen.

    _Note; _
Very important is that your XP CD Win would contains SP2!
Without SP2 a BSOD can appears and could break up of installation!

Don t format or don t create all partitions after the installation of the SATA driver. It can erase the installed and included from HARD disk SATA driver.

Last but not least some readers of external floppy drive are not supported. I read that some users had some problems with an external FDD drives they tested another drive and it worked finally

  • Satellite A200: No audio after update SP1 and NET Framework

    Hello

After my laptop Satellite A200 update Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 86 and
Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista, the speakers and the headphones stopped working.

When you go to the speaker icon in the taskbar, it says "No. AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE INSTALLED.

    I'm confused.

    Can someone help pleeeeeeeease.

    Thank you

    Hello

I think you should just go to the Device Manager and should remove (uninstall) the audio driver.
Then go to the Toshiba European page, choose your model of laptop, download the audio driver and unzip the package.
    Reboot the laptop.

After the Win operating system has started, the new device (sound card) should be recognized and the operating system asks for the driver.
Now, you must point to the driver package that you have downloaded from the page and must be reinstalled the driver.

    Check it out!

  • Satellite A200 plays not only will not play DVD

I'm a first time user on this forum so Hello to everyone.

My problem is that my Satellite A200 of (duration Vista) won't play DVD. When I try I get the following message: "Windows Media Player cannot play video DVDs. You may need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try to lower your screen resolution and color quality settings. Needless to say, I've played a bit with the appropriate settings and there was no change in the situation. In a response published in another forum, someone suggested that I ditch Windows Media Player in favor of something better. I thought that the alternative program, he has proposed would be free, but it wasn't. In any case, I tried to play the DVD with other programs and received the same basic message. Is not a thing of Windows Media Player, it's a thing of DVD playback. In addition, it does not matter if WMP isn't the BEST DVD player - I just want to play DVD! I wrote to one of support from Microsoft customer care and they wrote in saying that it wasn't their problem. They consider it a "question of material". I don't buy that.

Just a bit of history - I bought the computer second hand a good friend. Now, I don't ever remember playing a DVD on the computer, which somewhat confuses things for the following reasons. Just after I bought the computer, which is running Vista, I installed MP3 player software which has expressed its disagreement with the CD/DVD drive drivers. What I think is a quite common problem. This time Microsoft representatives were happy to help me and told me to delete two lines of registry keys. That fixed the problem to a certain extent, because now the reader a) still existed and b) could read and play CDs. But when I tried to play a DVD I got the above message.

So as I said, I never even remember reading a DVD on the drive, I don't know if the problems are related to the problem of shock of MP3 software, although it seems unlikely that they are related. Finally, the computer has been less than a year when I bought it and in all other respects, it has been very well (unbearable slowness of Vista by derogation). Unfortunately the extended warranty is now sold out so I hope this isn't a hardware problem. The fact is that, given that I've never even played a DVD on this thing, and he plays the CD without any problem (in addition, the drive can READ DVD, he can tell me all the chapters that are on a DVD and play the files that he - she won't just play movies), I don't think it's material. I think that there is a current bug.

If someone could shed some light on this matter, I would be eternally grateful!

    Concerning

    Tom

    Hi mate

I m using the VLC Player as well.
I m totally happy! It s for free, it s small, don t need a lot of material resources and manages almost all file formats.
    That s awesome!

I totally agree with you. VLC Player is more than recommended!

  • Satellite A200-1YX: sometimes Touchpad left click

My A200 is 20 days. OS is Vista Home OEM.
From time to time, my left touchpad product clicks, which can be very annoying if I write something.

I know it's left click, because if I have large text, my cursor appears from time to time in the line where the pointer is at the moment.

I tried with the uninstall/install Touchpad drivers, but it did not solve my problem.

    Best,
    VJT

    Hey, Dragan

Please don t be angry with me, but I n t think a touchpad could create left clicks automatically.
I think that you accidentally hit the surface of the touchpad while typing, and consequently, the cursor put another position.

Try to disable the touch pad using the FN + F9 key combination and check if it happens again

  • Satellite A200-1QZ - view suddenly becames fuzzy and a little green

    Hello

Excuse my bad English, but I have a problem with my 2 month old Satellite A200 - 1QZ Notebook.

Sometimes, about 2 times a week, my screen get is fuzzy (there looks like the color depth would change to 16-bit or less) and I can see a small green tint (but here? not sure m) on the entire screen.
I do not understand why, because sometimes during games, chat, write in word or something else, so no matter what I do.

Currently AI? using m for laptops modified Desktop Driver Catalyst 08.2 (the driver is original, but I have a tool called 'Mobility DotNET4', I modified with.

I don't think that the updated driver is the reason for my problem, because I remember of the day, I used the notebook for the first time and 1 hour later, I got it too. And now, the certified Toshiba display driver has been installed.

I solve the problem with the restart of the system, but it is very uncomfortable during the games or chatting.

I hope that my text is understandable...

Help, I would be very grateful.

    Welcome MatthiasV

    Hello

Eventually he s a graphics card problem, it is possible if the 3rd party graphics card driver has been installed.
The graphic drivers from Toshiba support thermal protection which is needed to prevent overheating of the material!

If you have used a non-Toshiba driver then a GPU could overheat and therefore this issue happened.

However, for me, it looks like a hardware problem and therefore the laptop must be checked by a service provider authorized in your country!

    Good bye

  • Satellite A200 - 25 c - looking for examinations and tests

    Hi, I would buy the A200 - 25 c: T8100 - HD2600 - 2 GB - 320 GB (800-1000a ¢ A?) A¬)

But it is very difficult to find any tests or comments on this particular model. I'm looking for mostly pictures on this topic, given the autonomy,
energy consumption, from the reflection of the screen (ok, this is better or worse than others), noise and how (and how much) for an extended warranty (in France).

Thanks for all who have experience on this laptop special or links to this topic.

    Hello

Unfortunately it does not already exist many tests/reviews on the net, since the machine is fresh on the market. But one of my friends has a Satellite A200 (I Don t know the exact model) which seems to be a really good and reliable machine with enough performance for almost everything what is necessary today.

Even games are well experienced, so I think that the machine does what it should.

With regard to the tests: just periodically check google.com or Web and type 'Satellite A200 - 25 c test' (or 'review' instead of trying) and you might find something that brings you perhaps closer to the decision to buy this machine.

  • Satellite A200-195: TOSHIBA Flash Cards 'black and white cards' does not

I was wondering if someone can help me.

Recently, I restarted my Satellite A200-195.

I found that my flash cards for my function FN hotkey buttons disappeared and are not pop up on the top of the screen more.
However, I am able to support the other function keys on the keyboard part F1 - F8, one that allows the mouse F9.

I already uninstalled and installed the added value package, support Flash utility and even tried to update the Bios, but it seems that my Bio is already the latest version.
After all, that I seem to be able to activate my mouse F9 key, but my other function keys don't work anymore and the flash cards still do not appear like they use to.
Is this what can I do to get my flash card pop up on screen without having to bring my laptop back to factory default?

Have you tried to restart Flash cards?
Start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities > restart Flash cards.

You can also try is to install the Flash cards support utility if you can find it on the download page of Toshiba.

  • Connection to a Satellite A200 to a TV with video and audio.

I have a Satellite A200 and I was wondering what cables to connect to my TV with video and Audio. I have an S-video cable at the moment, but I need the sound of the TV.

    Thank you.

The problem is that cable s-video doesn t transmits the audio but only video signal.
If you want to get the sound on the TV, you must use additional RCA cable.

  • Satellite Pro M10 suddenly ran very slow and freezes

Two weeks ago, that my SP M10 is suddenly very slow and freeze. After a reset, it began to check the HARD drive, which lasted about 8 hours, and several repair lost clusters to files. But the student pilot did not run faster. I reformatted the HDD to FAT32 (NTFS has not worked) and reinstalled Windows XP. First, it seemed to work very well, but a few hours later, it freezes again.

After 10-20 min, I got access. This has not changed so far. CHKDSK another also lasted several hours and again showed some lost clusters. I think that my HARD drive is damaged, but how can I see if there a lot of bad sectors? Can I fix it? Can I possibly replace my 40 GB HARD drive with a larger HARD drive capacity?

Are there restrictions or can I use any brand?

    Hello

I had the same problem with my Satellite 1900. The result was the HARD drive damaged (bad sectors). I tried to fix it with different tools, but without success. The best solution is to swap the HARD drive.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 GB: ATI HD2600 glitches and GPU failure

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba A200 - 1 GB with Windows 7 x 86.
I tried all the drivers site ATI toshiba Web, new and old and the screen becomes weird, ATIKMDAG fails and recovers until the BSOD comes up, then when I restart the laptop screen Black Guard.

I can only see the login external monitor screen, however the same seeds will appear on this screen, I think although it is not a screen problem.

I am running windows 7 now with integrated drivers only (from windows update), and I played a game for an hour without any problem, if I install the catalyst with the latest drivers that he keeps doing the same thing, so basically I would like to know if it's a hardware problem or a software problem. The temperature of the GPU does not 47ºC.

Please check the 2 videos I recorded with fraps on dropbox. When the video becomes all black, it's when the ATIKMDAG failed and recovered.

    Video link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bmtm437o3rsost6/PkllwdMSNy

    > I can only see the login external monitor screen, however the same seeds will appear on this screen, I think although it is not a screen problem.

In my opinion, the internal graphics card begins to malfunction.
Its certainly not a problem of display internal.

What you could do is to recover the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery disk and could test the laptop using factory settings (Toshiba default image that has been installed on the first day of purchase) and test if the seeds of same would be visible.
    I guess they will do
