Satellite A200 - including details on BIOS 2.10 WIN

I have the Satellite A200 1N7 with 2x512MB RAM. My maximum resolution of RAM is now 2 MB. I can to change 1x512mo by 1 x 2 MB. I can to install the new bios update (2.10 day WIN 19.02.2008). Is this possible?

I'm afraid you did your complicated ad. If I understand you right you use 1 GB of RAM for the moment, but want to upgrade to 2 GB. Am I right about that?

On the BIOS update, I say follow: you can do the BIOS update when you want but if the system works well leave him is.

  • Satellite A200 - I forgot the BIOS password

I have a TOSHIBA SATELLITE A200 model that I brought on Dec 2007.
I forgot the password I gave to the BIOS, and so far, of mar16th, I am unable to go in,

I tried to fix it through centres of local services to Chennai and Tirunelveli, but could not get the success.
I have also filed a complaint with TOSHIBA Service Center and went to TASHIBA in Chennai service center, and they said:

    (1) remove the BIOS chip could help, but it didn't
    (2) motherboard must be changed.

In fact, I set password BIOS and of POWERON the same thing, then...
Is there a way to remove the BIOS/POWERON password?

The details of my laptop are
    Model: PSAFCL-01M00P

    Hello

I wonder why the ASP in your country could not remove this password.
Usually, the unknown password can be removed only by technician ASP.
You will not be able to remove it!

  • Satellite A200 - cannot downgrade the BIOS to v2.40

    Please help me.

I bought a brand new toshiba Satellite A200 series laptop with vista home premimum inside.

For some reason, I'm not a fan of big vista.
So I lowered my XP OS and as I was looking for pilots and all this for XP I saw an update of the Bios for my laptop it's 5.20 which was for XP. Although for Vista its 2.40 as per mentioned on the Web site.

    Now where my problems began.
I downloaded this v5.20 bios and updated.
Soon the problems began as laptop is overheated, it freezes and sometimes refuse to give performance.

As I was unable to find all my drivers for XP I switched to Vista using my recovery DVDs. But the problem remains the same with Vista too, so finally, I took my laptop to a Toshiba Service Center.

They have said that it is a motherboard problem so they fixed, but they have not set the Bios.
I still v5.20 on my machine.

I tried to go down to v2.40 but it always shows an error.

Can someone help me pls... I am able to boot with a USB but I don't have a version of DOS of Bios v2.40.

Please if anyone can provide me with my version of the bios.
I'll be grateful to her for ever.

    Here are my system specs.

    Date 2009-01-26 03:04:19

    [Information on PC]
    Model name Satellite A200
    Part number PSAFCL-01M00P

Not even this when I buyed the laptop he showed me 749 something like a shared graphics memory now it shows only about 399.

I know that it is simply because of this update of the Bios.
Now I am not yet able to play good games.
This machine is almost useless for me now.

No help from you people will get.

I put t know why you want to downgrade the BIOS.
Have you read the information on the site of Toshiba for BIOS version 5.20? I created this:
    > Support Windows XP and Vista OS

So I think that you should not downgrade the BIOS. The most recent BIOS 5.20 is for Windows XP and Vista.
You can find this information on Toshiba Asia because you have the model of Asia (not Europe):
    http://www.PC.Toshiba-Asia.com =>
Update BIOS version 5.20 Satellite A200 (for the PSAF0-* & PSAFC *-* ONLY)

The Toshiba Service Center did a good job with the latest BIOS.

  • Satellite A200 - AH6 PSAE0C: update BIOS - Date & Time Reset problem

Then I updated my laptop Satellite A200 - AH6 PSAE0C (Bios and graphic update) after installation of Toshiba Power Saver, but from time to time now, if I do a restart, there is a black screen on reboot with some info about my BIOS and some things put in guard/failure.

Also, when she comes back, once again, every so often, my time is reset to December 2004, 12: 00

    Any suggestions?

Hmm... This strange s... maybe you should try to update the BIOS again. I'm not sure if this is possible if the BIOS has been already updated to the latest version but it worth a try.
In addition, you should access the BIOS and it set to the default settings and need to save settings.

    See you soon

  • Satellite A200 - 1 CG PSAE3E: BIOS corrupted - solved with the crisis recovery disk

    Hi all

I would like to report on the success of the recovery of corrupted bios on my Satellite A200 - 1 CG (PSAE3E).
Like many others I downloaded a latest bios update for my laptop and it started under Windows 7 64-bit.

In fact I only needs of some practical information from the bios update tool, but the update started automatically
without a question. :( After several blocks has been updated the progress bar stuck a heterocycle.
In 2 minutes, I got only the system completely frozen. I turned off the system manually, it works again, and...
my laptop was completely dead: screen etc black and of course, I wasn't able to boot in Windows 7.

So for those who only plans to update the bios: DO NOT update the BIOS ON the SATELLITE UNDER WINDOWS! THE UPDATE MAY BE STUCK!

I searched on the web has found a solution. With a specially created disk and external usb floppy drive, the problem can be solved then

I tried the recovery procedure described here, but it did not help. Earlier versions of tool phlash16.exe
where it is not able to restore the bios. I heard that the disk was read constantly for about 2 minutes. After the recommended 5 min break, I changed the power of and then turned back on it and... I had the same darkness of the screen as before :(

The strange thing is that the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe also did not work, but it was different from the earlier version. If I used the older version of the tool, the disk has been read for about 2 min, if used the latest version of the disk was read for about 10 seconds. It was for me, as the bios was not simply read by the tool.

So I searched and searched again. Then I found it: it takes phlash.ini to the phlash16.exe!
I downloaded an old bios (something from 2007) for an unknown Toshiba laptop to the Toshiba site. I renamed both the archive and found a phlash.ini inside. I changed only the second line in the ini file of... = 0 to... = 1 (I guess).

Then I formatted the diskette under dos, copied the minidos.sys he phlash16.exe (latest version), a new bios for my laptop in BIOS. WPH (I guess) and after a phlash.ini has been fixed. After that, I started the crisis recovery makeboot.exe utility (found on the site, which I mentioned earlier). After that, I have the phone in recovery mode (Fn + B) bootet and... It worked like a charm. So, the important thing was the phlash.ini!

So for those who has the same problem with corrupt bios, I've had: it's phlash.ini and the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe.
All other information can be retrieved on the web site, which I mentioned earlier. The described method works with the phoenix bios!

    So good Look

    Kind regards
    Igor

    Thanks for the friend information
But to be honest, the procedure of BIOS is always a sensitive issue and I would be always careful in using such things.

When even good to know that your device is running again!

  • Satellite A200 PSAE3E: what the Bios update changes

Someone can't tell me what efect will be a ubdate Bios on my laptop.
This update can not damage the laptop?

    This update is a risk?
P.S.: I use Windows Xp SP2, Vista not.

    Thank you

    Hello

The update of the BIOS is only risky If you would use incompatible BIOS or use a wrong update procedure.

If you have installed XP on your computer A200 laptop then a BIOS upgrade to the XP version would be desirable because of one of the main reasons.
Without the version of BIOS XP your FN buttons will not work.

So if you want to use the FN keys, the update of the BIOS XP is not necessary.
But if you want to use the FN keys, you will need to update the BIOS to the XP version.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A200 - headphone and microphone works do not (Win XP)

I have fully operational Windows XP with all works very well. However, today I tried to connect a microphone to the computer, the software noticed, muted the internal speakers, but it is there no sound in headphones whatever I do. I tried if the microphone is well only to find out I have the same problem - the software realtek notice me, I plugged a microphone, but does record no sound.

I would be most grateful for any help.

Are you sure you checked all necessary settings?

I m not Satellite A200 owner but I have a similar Satellite A series and I installed the two OS (Vista & XP) on my HARD drive.

Of my knowledge you should check the settings of the sound options & audio different microphone.
In Control Panel, you will find the Sound & audio devices. Choose it!
    Then select the Audio tab.

That could be sound recording of area that provides information on possible devices for sound recording.
First of all, you should check if the Volume settings are defined at a higher level.
Then check if a right device has been selected (in my case it s a Realtek HD audio input).

Tab another voice (almost), you can test the record too much voice. This could be very useful to check if the microphone is working correctly
    Please do!

    Good bye

  • Satellite A200-1GH - asking of BIOS password

The start of my laptop is blocked by BIOS password, even though I know exactly that the password was not established. It is a known issue with some Toshiba computers laptops listed here http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletin.jsp?soid=1863789#. Toshiba who repairs free of charge.

I want to assure you that my cell phone is on the list. But there are 5 model numbers numbers where: A200-ST2041, A200-ST2042, P200-ST2071 while the laptops on the Toshiba site list includes numbers to 3 numbers only: 1N9, 1SM etc.

My laptop has 3 digit model A200-1GH, model PSAECE-02900ERU number. Are there matching 5 digit number?

On the site of Toshiba laptops are only American models for your laptop is not listed because you have a European model.

Normally, a BIOS password can only removed from an ASP. In your case, I would go to a local ASP. You can search here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported downloads & => find an ASP.

    Hello everyone!

I just installed new version 5.60 BIOS for XP. And my laptop with terrible Frost (and pulling in the games).
He can be and how can I solve this problem?
If anyone has the older versions of BIOS for XP please?

    Hello

Have you noticed a higher temperature while playing games?
Maybe this gel it linked to the higher temperature which could appears because the cooling modules do not work properly?

In you case I would check the cooling fans because do not twist fans clogged with better performance and this could lead to higher inside the laptop.

I clean my fans every 2 months with a jet of compressed air.
This allows especially to get rid of dust and debris.
