Satellite A200: Some collapsed devices work after BIOS update

I've recently updated my BIOS to V2.60 on my Sat A200
but ever since I have apdated BIOS some hardware components stoped working.
So I decided to use the product recovery CD but it no longer works.

Whenever during the loading phase of the system breaks down and I get a blue screen mentioning a file called CLFS. SYS in the root of the problem

Is there a solution to my problem?

Hello

What Sat A200-xxx you have exactly?
In my experience, there are different versions of BIOS for different operating system.
The Vista and XP needs the different BIOS!

But I wonder why the Toshiba Recovery disk not working anymore?  :|
Usually, you should be able to not recover the system no matte what BIOS was installed.

Have you tried to format the HARD drive first using another disc for example like Win XP?
Check it!

I think you need to format the HARD drive again and then should try to recover the laptop using the recovery disk

I was hoping if someone could help me pls.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 (PSAFCA).
Recently, I tried the bios update and while I flashed the bios I forgot to plug the laptop into the current and the battery was flat at half way through the flashing.

Thus the laptop now won't post when I turn on and all I get is a white screen.
I was wondering if someone could pls advise me on how I can get the old bios back or even a method of flashing it if I put the bios back in so I can at least get a message to display on the screen.

Any help that you provide would be greatly appreciated as I am at a loss.

    > while I flashed the bios I forgot to plug the laptop into the current and the battery flat at half way through the flashing.

Well buddy, the cell must always be connected to the mains during the execution of an update of the BIOS! This is very important!
Now it looks like the update of BIOS didn't t run and finish correctly and the ROM module seems to be flashed incorrectly.

Unfortunately, there is no other solution to communicate with ASP guys and ask for help! They should be able to help you.

But note; in the worst cases, the ROM module is unfortunate and the motherboard needs to be replaced.

    Good luck

  • Satellite L750 - Bluetooth does not work after BIOS update

I am preparing some L750 notebooks for use and accept updates from the Toshiba, which included an upgrade of BIOS v1.70 for v2.00. He appears after this update occurs that Bluetooth no longer works, i.e. try to install Bluetooth Toshiba stack will fail as it is said that the Bluetooth radio is disabled and must be turned on for continue.

As the L750 (model PSK1WA-0C300R) is not a hardware switch to enable or disable the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, the only option available (Fn + F8) is unsuccessful. I ran a recovery of factory default installation and Bluetooth still does not - resumption of classes does not restore the BIOS to the previous version. I have 5 of the model and confirmed the update of the BIOS is the cause. Two laptops now have v2.00 and Bluetooth has been tested in the work before the update of the BIOS.

If Bluetooth is not critical for the environment which I deploy these notebooks, it's an annoyance I want to solve. My questions are: has anyone encounter the same problem and managed to resolve it? Is there a BIOS v1.70 available for download to restore the functionality? Y at - it an update of the BIOS > V2.00 for solve the problem I have? Thank you.

    Hi JasonL750,

Load default settings after updating the BIOS? Go into the BIOS, press the F9 key to load the default settings of the installation. Also, make sure that Bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS if there is such an option.

In addition, it would be interesting to know what happens if you use the FN + F8 key combination. Don't you see that he has an option to turn on Bluetooth and if so what happens if you do this?

    What should I do?

Saying: don t work do you mean it does not fuel upward or what do you mean exactly?
    Flash the BIOS correctly?

Maybe something went wrong during the upgrade, which means that l ROM flashed module isn't properly

In most cases a special disc of crisis of the BIOS would be required to operate
Not sure if you can get it repaired by your own

  • Satellite Pro L100 does not work after BIOS update

Okay, the computer is a Toshiba Satellite Pro L100 PSLA4. Problem occurred during an update of the BIOS on the official website of Toshiba. I downloaded the zip file, it extracts and activated the .exe file at the Interior.

The window opened by the .exe is a program flashing BIOS, the .exe wrote at the same time a new BIOS file to a temporary folder.
When he tried to use the program I got was an error saying it couldn't find the new BIOS to the entrance.

I tried again only to get the same error. Then I left the laptop for several minutes and when I got home, I found a laptop no longer Virgin.
On which I hear by an obvious lack of BIOS functions i.e. power LED does not change when the connection to disconnect it from the power outlet and the fact that I had to take out the battery to turn off the machine. When the power is turned on now it is check readers and restarts (no display, no beeps)

    What should I do?
The first thing that comes to mind was to reset the BIOS.
A problem, I can not find the RTC battery or a rider switch.

    Hi George

I can't tell why it happened, but I can tell what happened.

In my opinion, something went wrong during the process of updating the BIOS and the ROM modules was not writer properly.

Simply says the BIOS update procedure has failed.
In this case, you will need to contact the ASP in your country for a fix
The technician must be able to rewrite the ROM module and updated the BIOS again.

    Good luck buddy

  • Satellite L300 - webcam does not work after BIOS update

I've recently updated the BIOS to 2.2, and the webcam has stopped working. He disappeared, and there is an unknown device in Device Manager in USB bus controller.

I've tried everything, even with the new Vista OS pure but nothing as there is no webcam I have installed the drivers but not recognised so I would like if I can get the BIOS to 1.5 and fix the webcam. If I can cos I need. Is this possible?
    TNX

    Hello

I put t think its BIOS problem.
First the unknown device (webcam) appears in the Device Manager and it means that a device has been recognized by the system and the BIOS.
The only reason why its listed as unknown devices is: the driver is not installed correctly.

After update BIOS, you have to put back the BIOS to default. Access BIOS by pressing F2 and in the BIOS, you can use the button to default to F9 and F10 to save the changes.

After that you should start the machine and need to go to Device Manager.
Mark the unknown device and delete it from the list (if possible)
Go to control panel-> software control and check the list of software for webcam software (from chicony). Uninstall this software if its part of the list.

    Now, restart the laptop.
Clean the operating system using CCleaner and install the correct webcam for Vista software. Note: pay attention to the 32-bit version or 64-bit.

If the installation fails, try the Toshiba Recovery disk and define the notebook back to factory settings.

By the way: decommissioning of BIOS is not possible because the old BIOS is not downloadable.

  • Equium L40 - 17 M PSL49E - collapsed Wlan work after BIOS update

    Hi all

I have problem with my laptop.
    The laptop Equium L40 - 17 M, model PSL49E-00C005KS.

For a few days, I am updating my BIOS after update, with the version P20B200 (bios 20080617131309), internal wireless stop working.
Show me device is turned on but activity is off, and I can not turn on the device.

First thing I think is 'Windows' and I start the recovery disc. But after the problem of the recovery is still exist, Wireless does not.
Then I put external USB wireless and are trying to connect with the router.

Computer recognises USB but it also don't do no work orders, so the problem is not wireless (I'm not sure why), but I think that this problem is because the laptop can not recognize USB device properly.
I want to Flash the bios with old BIOS but I don't have it

I'll be grateful to someone who have the same problem, tell me how to resolve this.
Or send me an old bios for my laptop.

    Hello

I always put t know what BIOS version, you used.
Is that Equium L40 PSL49E can use two different BIOS versions.
If you are using XP you need to version 5.50 of BIOS, but if you use Vista then you need to use the BIOS 2, 00 - Win.

Secondly, I would recommend updating the driver Realtek WLan until you try to Flash the BIOS again.
I think that the need for notebook Realtek Wlan driver.

Check the driver from the Toshiba page or download one from the Realtek site directly!

PS: The wireless network card must be turned on before you try to connect to the router.
You have to switch the WLan ON switch and need to press FN + F8 until the WiFi network has been activated!

  • Satellite A200 - Touchpad scroll function stop working after BIOS update

    Hello

After that I updated the BIOS (drawn from the Toshiba site), the scroll function stop working. I can still click, move the mouse pointer, but can no longer navigate the touchpad. Relocation of Synaptics driver is not the problem. The strange thing is that the computer detects only my touchpad as standard pointing device (port: PS/2) device. "Graph of pressure" and "Moodpad" function also stop working and complain "this program requires a Synaptics TouchPad, and the Synaptics Pointing device driver.
My computer is Satellite A200 PSAE0C-TR605C.

    Anyone know the reason?
    Thank you

    Danny

    Hello

What operating system is installled and which is more interesting: what version of BIOS you have installed? Why I ask? Because there are 2 different BIOS versions, one for Vista (1.80) and one for XP (5.20) which means that when you Flash a BIOS XP on a computer with Vista installed then some functions do not work properly as the FN keys or the touchpad.

If please check this out and make sure you have the appropriate BIOS installed.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite C55-A-16Z - graphics card does not work after BIOS update

    Hello

I have a portable Satellite C55-A-16Z with windows 8 and a Nvidia geforce 740M graphics card.

Last week he asked me to update the version of the bios at 1.30.
    The bios update was successful.

However when I restarted my laptop I started having a BSOD dgxkrnl.sys.
Correction of the error and restarted for an another BSOD Windows, and after the second solution, I stopped making BSOD.
But now, I noticed its games running, if not use the dedicated card, but use the 4000 Intel.

In the settings Nvidia dedicated card is configured to be always on.
It seems that my card is missing, but it appears in Device Manager.
I tried to delete, update the drivers and the default factory reset, but nothing helped.

Also, when I go into Options power the Intel card is listed and when I disable the card intel in the Device Manager it starts to use the graphic viewer for windows.

How can I get my Nvidia card to work again?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

After the BIOS update the BIOS should be set to default settings.
You can do it in the BIOS.

In addition, you mentioned that Windows 8 is still installed on your laptop.
8.1 to win has already been published by Microsoft and I highly recommend that update you the system of 8 to 8.1 Win Win.

Before you start the upgrade to 8.1 win, you should check and read the instructions step by step for Toshiba: http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

I guess that after the Win 8.1, nVidia graphics card upgrade works well also.

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite A300-20 b - Touchpad does not work after BIOS update

I've updated the BIOS on my Satellite A300-20 b latest version 2.00. Update succeeded, but when I rebooted system touchpad has stopped working.

I tried to find the solution, resettled drivers (windows XP system). In the Windows Device Manager there is no problem with Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad, I see. Software Synaptics shows no problem I can enable and disable the touchpad, but it does not work for the touchpad. I tried Linux live CD and in this system does not work as good touchpad. I think there is problem in this version of the BIOS.

Does anyone have the same problem?

    Hey Buddy,

Have you tried to turn the touchpad on or off if you press FN + F9? Check this please!
Also, try to load the default settings in the BIOS.

What happens if you connect an external mouse to the laptop? It work?

I can t imagine that the BIOS update causing this problem. If it doesn't work, you need to contact a service provider for help. They can check the touchpad and replace.

  • Satellite A500-17 x - micro does not work after BIOS update

I have a Toshiba Satellite A500-17 x which I have just updated the BIOS to version 2, as recommended by the tempro software. Now with the new update my microphone does not work. Where can I download a copy of the old BIOS?

({I used winphlash64 in advanced mode to restore the original backup, it does to the computer, but it just gives the new bios to}) Thank you rich

    Hello

BIOS cannot be demoted in windows mode.
Even if you use an older version of BIOS update, you will get an error message saying that the latest BIOS version is already installed. So, forget the downgrade.

By the way: I put t think the update of the BIOS assigned the microphone.

Go to control panel of-> sound-> recording tab.
Here you will see all the available recording devices (micro)

Activate the microphone it (in this case the people with reduced mobility) and set its default value.

Where it works: reinstall the audio driver.

  • Satellite A135-S2286 - USB ports does not work after BIOS update

I recently had the dreaded BIOS password prompt problem. I checked online to the toshiba support site and took the laptop to a toshiba authorized service center and is fixed by getting the updated BIOS updated to 1.60, but after update BIOS, none of my USB ports work.

When I connect a USB device, a warning from yellow pop up comes up unrecognized USB device. The same USB device works fine on other computers/laptops. I searched online for a solution and found on a lot of people have the same problem, but did not find any fix for this error.

It will be useful, if someone has a solution for this error.

    Hey Buddy,

Is there yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager next to USB ports or they appear correctly?

If you notice a yellow exclamation you must remove the USB port and restart the computer. All USB ports are installed automatically, you do not need an additional driver.

I hope that it helps :)

  • Satellite A105 shift stop working after BIOS update

I have a stack of boards of laptop of the A105 (Intel chipset) series that I received with the wrong BIOS. Both worked, and I updated the BIOS on them to solve CPU compatibility issues. After that, the shift keys stopped working and pressing Shift-A causes the power led to decrease in intensity. Return to ANY BIOS version, either by the Windows, CD or floppy disk of crisis recovery program (magic key is 'F', not 'B', 'Esc' or 'U'), does not solve the problem of the keyboard.

To make things more confusing, I've noticed that single BIOS one that actually seems to correct the problem is version 1.50, which I have not seen available for any Tecra A7 or Satellite A100/A105, with the exception of a few 100, but the BIOS file is too small and cannot be loaded.

Anyone has an idea why these cards Intel processor do that? Or did someone knows where I can get a usable version of BIOS 1.50?

In the interest of this post, please consider my high level of competence. (In other words, I would be grateful for the people trying to help 'Replace the keyboard', but I have about a dozen keyboards, that everything I tried, and all work on other laptops. In addition, if you have just a theoretical solution, I'm certainly open to hearing. In addition, if a Toshiba tech would answer, I really appreciate it!)

An update, it seems that the laptop from a different manufacture series show almost the same problem. There are certainly similarities of BIOS, since these Toshiba use the magic key to Fujitsu to trigger the block to start recovery from the crisis. I guess it's very likely that this problem is specifically a problem of Phoenix BIOS.
