Satellite A210 - 11 c - how to return to my old BIOS

Hello

I've recently updated my BIOS on my Toshiba Satellite A210 - 11 c using WINPHLASH.

Just before I did, it made a backup of my old bios as a BIOS. BAK file...

How can I use it to go back to my old BIOS as my fans do not respect your laptop as cool as they use to be!

Thank you!

You cannot old BIOS because the driver Toshiba page provides only the latest version of the BIOS.

In addition, the most recent BIOS should be better and improve
If you have cooling problems, then I would recommend changing the settings in the Power Options. Check the settings advanced as cooling CPU processing speed and performance.

  • Satellite A210 - 11 p: how to monitor CPU temperature

    Hello

I bought a laptop Satellite A210 - 11 p in January this year, I'm very happy with it.
Anyone know how I can monitor the temperature of the processor?

As the fan speed increases and decreases, I fear that the laptop heat up.
I supoose it's normal, I use the laptop on a desk, so it isn't a problem with the air flow.

Any advice would be grately appreciated
    Thank you

I use the Everest Home edition application. It monitors and provides details on the temperature of the processor and HARD drive.

    > As the fan speed increases and decreases, I fear that the laptop heats up.
You are right. The speed of the fan depends on the internal temperature. According to the use of the laptop, the temperature increases and decreases.

To be honest I don t see any problems and it is normal behavior.
So relax and enjoy your laptop ;)

  • Satellite A210 - 16G (PSAELE) - how to use 4 GB and update the BIOS?

Hello! I hope someone can answer a few questions for me.

First of all is: How can I turn on my laptop to use all the 4 GB of RAM? OS is Win Vista Ultimate 32-bit with Service Pack 2. Now Vista all show the 4 GB of RAM, but don't use it. I activated the EAP in Vista, but still nothing. As I saw, I need to turn it on too memory remapping in BIOS but there is no option (my BIOS is ver.1.70).

The second question relates to the BIOS. Because my version is 1.70 and there are more recent version 2.00; I get benefits if I update to BIOS? Someone has updated to version 2.00? And there are more options in the BIOS after update to version 2.00 (for example the memory remapping or a similar option)?
I'm a little afraid to update BIOS, because sometimes my Toshiba freezes, and I would not hang during the update of the BIOS.

And the final question is there any changelog to the BIOS? So I can see what is added and changed, and what's new in the new version of the BIOS. Because I could not find anywhere.

Thanks for the responses to come.

    Hello!

    (1) you can use the entire 4 GB of RAM on a 32 bit OS. It is a due limitation of 32-bit technology. Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 may recognize the full 4 GB of RAM but not use it, more than 3.2 g.
Here you can find more information about this limitation:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB82022E0000R01.htm

    (2) about BIOS updated I can tell only must be made only if you have problems with the laptop. A BIOS update should never be done just for fun, because it of still a little risky. In the worst case, you can destroy the ROM module or complete motherboard.
Update the BIOS doesn't normally contain new features or options. It s bug just setting. In addition it can t solve the problem with 4 GB of RAM and Vista 32 bit if you think that ;)
If your laptop does not have 100% stable you shouldn't t update because it s too risky. Before the update, you should try to solve the problem of gel.

    (3) If a change log is available you can find it on the Toshiba site. If you can t find, there isn t available.
    That s all about this.

    I hope I could help a bit.

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite A210 - 11 p: how to change the GPU shared memory

    Hi all,
I recently bought this laptop with 2 GB of memory.
I just bought 4 GB of Crucial, after doing the scan and it recommends the right Ram purchase.

I installed it and when check in information system's watch than 3.3 GB.
Now that I'm confused because according to this specification on blocks:

«Graphic adapter: memory: 256 MB of VRAM dedicated (up to 1,023 MB memory graphics available using technology HyperMemory with 2 GB of system memory total) "»

It seems that the graphics adapter card has took a little of my memory of the system.
How can I change the settings so that it used only 256 MB or just a little more? I can't find a way to Vista.

    Ta

    * waves *.

Please check this Toshiba document on this subject of 3.3 GB memory.
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7601WE0007R01.htm

The windows and the BIOS cannot recognize all of the 4 GB due to the limitation of the 32-bit system.
System resources need of addressing which overlaps physical memory below 4 GB.
These requirements can reduce available addressable memory space to and reported by the operating system

The GPU sharing only 256 MB.

PS: I read somewhere on the net that the new Vista SP1 which is officially available in 2008 has solved the problem with limitation of 32-bit system

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7. If I do, I definitely want to do a clean install, rather than an upgrade. However, I have some questions about the process:

    * Drivers: The installation process will automatically install all my drivers for me? If this is not the case, how the drivers Setup install process?

    * What is the utility of Toshiba hardware configuration?

    * What is my Windows 7 disc also act as a restore CD or I'll have to do it myself? If so, how?

    * Should I upgrade complete edition edition?

    Thank you!

    Hey,.

    > * Drivers: the installation process will automatically install all my drivers for me? If this is not the case, how the drivers Setup install process?
No, drivers will install automatically. You will have to do it yourself, and you can download all the drivers on the European driver of Toshiba download page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
Before you install Windows 7 you must check if all drivers available for Windows 7

    > * What is the use of hardware from Toshiba?
Read the description on the Toshiba driver download page. ;)
It s a nice tool where you can change the BIOS settings.

    > * My Windows 7 disc will also as a restore CD or I'll have to do it myself? If so, how?
Microsoft Windows 7 disk also works a restore disc. If Windows is not able to start over, you can boot from the disc. Windows can repair itself.

    > * should I upgrade complete edition edition?
If you want a new installation, you need to purchase the full edition of Windows 7.

The laptop model is Satellite Pro A300-28R with Windows 7 Professional and BIOS version 2.10.

    Hello

Did you check the specifications of your laptop first?

The fact is that the processor must support this virtualization and according to the Web of Toshiba site, your laptop is equipped with processor Core 2 Duo T5870.
I checked this on the page of Intel CPU and virtualization isn't supported. That means t, you can use this feature!
