  When I bought this model 6 months ago I got this one with just a T5500 1.66 GHz but since then Intel reduced prices 40% it is me the upgrade option.

  Someone at - any idea how I can update, the following list lists the T7600 @ 2.33 GHz compatible on the Bus speed and execution step by step. The only difference being the memory cache L2, 4MB compared to my old one of the 2 MB that will have an effect.

  Maybe an other old Intel P4 CPU would work, but you will not be able to upgrade and use newer processors.
  Furthermore a stronger CPU would create more heat dissipation and this would lead to a temperature more high which could affect the functionality of the laptop.

  As Akuma already written, you can choose a CPU of the other models. Look on the lower side to identify your model number.

  No one will be able to tell if this new CPU would work correctly with this laptop because upgrades processors are not supported by one of the manufacturers of mobile phones.

  But from my own experience, updates are possible, sometimes.
  If the chipset would be compatible with the new processor, you've got a good chance to get it running.

  Forget that don t recommend install Win XP 64-bit.
  Why? Because the Win XP 64 bit was not so popular as Win 32 bit or Vista/Win 7 64 bit and you won't find many drivers for Win XP 64 bit.
  Stay with XP 32 bit or you can change to Win 7 64 bit.

  Regarding the graphical issue;
  Have you noticed that also using the old CPU (Intel Celeron M Processor 410)?
  If this were not the case, then I guess this could be a problem between the CPU and BIOS.
  Otherwise I would recommend upgrading the graphics card driver.

  I have toshiba Satellite A200-1cr with 120 GB HARD drive...

  I would like to change my HARD drive. I found a disk hard 2.5 "with 250 GB.

  (1) the Satellite A200-1CR supports SATA and no IDE interface and that's why you need a SATA HDD. It of really not difficult to replace the HARD drive and as far as I know, you should find a few details in the user manual. There is a useful statement and photos that explain the entire procedure.

  (2) hm AFAIK the drive replacement HARD will not void the warranty, and has no effect on the State of security.

  (3) you can also contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country for a HARD drive replacement, but in my opinion that is not really necessary because the replacement is not very sensitive. As I said above, check the user manual.

  (4) I don t think that your laptop will support 2 x 250 GB HARD drive.
  Of course, there are a few other series laptops which are abele to support two hard drives but I n t think that your laptop A200 support.

  Just a small comment on the new HARD drive:
  The fact is that some more HARD drive are not supported by the BIOS. I mean an upgrade to 120 GB to 250 GB drive HARD is really a leap one possibly your BIOS would not recognize the HARD drive correctly.
  So I recommend to test the HDD first before buying.

  OK so I have a Presario SR1920NX I upgraded to 2 GB of ram and put to update to windows 7 but here's the question... I currently have 2.2 GHx processor and I feel its not quite worth more so I decided to upgrade, but basically, each processor I looked for my pc requires an update of the Bios ok no biggie execpt theres no bios update for my pc running windows 7 so I would be nice to upgrade without bios or would I need to go back to xp update of the BIOS, and then reinstall windows 7?

  Here are the specifications of your desktop Compaq Presario SR1920NX. Previously, I had a Compaq SR1910NX and always use an HP a1632x, two use the same motherboard as your SR1920NX. My a1632x is a "Athlon 64 X 2 3800 + 2.0 GHz" which resembles your "Athlon 64 3500 + 2.2 GHz" except that he has two hearts. I upgraded to 4 GB of memory RAM and installed Windows 7 64-bit. The system works without a problem and partitions in the middle of the year of 5 years with a HP 512 MB HD6450 graphic card.

  Update CPU is not supported Toshiba so everything happens on your own risk. I guess no one has tested these CPUs P300 so hearts it risky s upgrade in my opinion and I don't it. I doubt that the cooling system, the motherboard and BIOS is also designed for these hearts high performance processors

  Do you really need a quad core? Intel P8400 is still quite fast CPU and should enough for all applications. :)
