Satellite A215-S7422: free space on the HARD disk decreases every day

Hello everyone,

Hi I'm alex.

I've owned a computer laptop "SATELLITE A215-S7422.
I got 147 GB of my hard disk drive memory, I got 119 free space but as I noticed it is constantly down even if I do not download anything.

When I saw this first I try to get it back to the factory setting and I had 128 GB of free space, and every day it is significantly down.

Everything I do is look at you tube.

Can someone explain to me what is happening and what I can do about it...

It would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Hello

There is a simple explanation why HARD disk space decreases each time while watching Youtube videos
The video stream is always stored on the HARD drive in the internet files folder and in time.

So from time to time, it would be desirable to remove these files and to clean the folder of files over time.
I use the CCLeaner. It is free software and can be downloaded from different pages. Google simply
This program is very useful. It cleans the HARD drive and removes the garbage all registry.

You should test.

    Hello

    (1) what antivirus program do you use?

    (2) version of Windows do you use?

    (3) have you made no changes before this problem?   I suggest you try these methods and check.

    Method 1:

    Delete files using disk cleanup.

    Hey Buddy

If you are using Vista, then you should consider that Vista creates an additional partition on the HARD drive.
It s hidden and it contains backup files in order to repair the operating system if something goes wrong.

In addition HARD drive must also contain HARD drive recovery files (image).
These files are required to recover the laptop HARD drive.

So the hidden partition and the recovery of HARD drive that could be the main reason why you noticed smaller amount of space available on the HARD disk

    See you soon

Thanks in advance for your advice

    Concerning

You can do it. No problem at all. Hard drives are not specific model of laptop parts and with hard drives is important compatibility.
On the new laptop, which you can use different hard drives. Important is that use you compatible HARD drive.

Just do it. After Exchange of HARD drive install Os again and everything will be OK.

  • Waste of space on the hard disk on the Satellite C650 - 15 X

    Hello

I found a problem on my laptop Toshiba Satellite C650-15 X (almost new), I bought several months ago. It has a drive hard 500 GB volume in 2 partitions: C and D-with 250 GB each; and Windows 7 Premium 64-bit operating system.

There is something strange about the partition D: it is 225 GB of missing! After scoring all of the files in the partition D > properties, there are only 25 GB in use and really little or no free space! There isn't any system or other files with this 25 GB. More than 220 GB in partition D is simply disappeared.

C partition looks normal. Tried all known Windows tools: check disk, defragmentation, convenience stores, etc. without results. Any suggestion or idea what s happened past and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Can you please open Computer Management > disk management. Make a screenshot and post it here.

  • How to free space on the hard drive?

Hello, in my "On Mac" section, it says I 233 MB of space on my 121 GB of Flash storage. Previously, I thought it was video files, but it was buggy mac section. I refreshed, hoping he would show me how much space I had left, but he stayed the same. That is the problem. I use my macbook for College written work and - maximum - work on Adobe Creative Suite. When I work on these I use a separate USB key due to the size of the files.

The only files I have actively created/downloaded on my macbook are the files in the files of my 'Documents', 'Pictures' and 'Applications '. When I use "Get Info" on each, I see that my photo folder is great, My Documents folder is large 1.17 GB and my Applications folder is large 14,68 GB 889,9 MB. These are the only files that I use and backup the files needed for my Macbook running and working properly, the only files I want to keep.

My question is, basically, if there is a way to lose all the files on my hard drive that are not necessary to keep. I'm not too good when it comes to computers, so I don't want to not just randomly start deleting things. Just to get these road, my garbage can is completely empty and I have nothing in my downloads folder. I have also no large files to film and, when I searched my Macintosh HD for files larger than 500 MB, there is no evidence, so I guess that this is caused by a large amount of small files (I tried to restrict research naturally but then come files that I wasn't sure of what they have done and therefore have not removed the still). If it helps, my about Mac filed 100,64 GB of my free space as 'other '. But I know that is not how much space was taken when I got the Macbook earlier this year and it should not be the size of the files that comes with it by default. There is also a way to restore all the files on my macbook at their stage of default, that I would also be interested, especially if there is a way to do it without rid of files I already have.

I guess that's a very basic question, can someone help out me?

    1. never remove all the files that you do not understand the purpose. If you do, it's like opening the hood of your car and take bits out of the engine ebcause you think they are not necessary.

    2. it seems more likely that you must rebuild your Spotlight index.

    See the following page:

    https://www.macissues.com/2014/12/12/how-to-determine-when-your-Spotlight-index-besoins-be-rebuilt.

  • I ran out of free space on the hard drive how can I free up space

My pc is freezing or locking up when I run a desktop wallpaper animated, so I defragment a saw that I was up to 20% freespace

You can create more free space in C in carrying one of the measures suggested below.

The default allocation for the restoration of the system is 12% on your C partition is more generous. I have them would be reduced by 700 MB. Make my computer right click on your icon, and select System Restore. Place the cursor on your C drive select settings but this time find the slider and drag it to the left until it shows 700 MB and output. When you get to the settings screen, click on apply and OK and leave.

A flaw that might be useless which is for temporary internet files, especially if you keep no copies on the disk offline. Setting the default value is 3% of the walk. Depending on your attitude to copies offline, you could bring it to 1% or 2%. In Internet Explorer, select Tools, Internet Options, general, temporary Internet files, settings to make the change. At the same time, look at the number of days, the story stands.

The default allocation for the basket is 10% of the disk. Change to 5%, which should be enough. In Windows Explorer hover over your Recycle Bin, right click and select Properties, Global and move the slider from 10% to 5%. However, try to let you become so complete that if it is complete and you delete a file by mistake it will bypass the Recycle Bin and have gone forever.

If your drive is formatted as NTFS another potential gain arises with your operating system on your C drive. In the Windows directory of your C partition you will some uninstall files in your Windows folder in general: $NtServicePackUninstall$ and $NtUninstallKB282010$ etc. These files can be compressed or not compressed. If compressed text the name of the folder appears in blue. If these files are not compressed you can compress. Right-click on each folder and select Properties, general, advanced, and check the box before you compress contents to save disk space. On the general tab, you can see the winning amount by deducting the size on disk size. File compression is only an option on an NTFS formatted disk partition / partition.

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before the error occurred initially do not use this option.

If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments.

cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

  • How to free space on the hard drive recovery disk?

My J: drive (recovery) is near capacity after a reinstall of Windows 7. How to clear space on this drive?

    Hi John R H,

The purpose of the training of recovery is to store all the files needed to do disaster recovery, when the system becomes unstable. The recovery disk is actually a partition on the hard drive of your computer - not a real physical disk. There is much less space than other drives. If you use the recovery disk to store files (such as backup files), the reader is full quickly and can cause serious problems when you need to use the system recovery.
Note: Do not store files on the recovery drive. The only files on the recovery disk should be linked to a system recovery.

  • I have 11 GB of free space on my hard disk 37 concerts. I have a xp home edition with sp 3. I'll be able to install windows seven?

What is the capacity of minimum disk for windows7 32 bit

Windows 7 requires a minimum of 16 GB of hard drive only for the operating system; because the upgrade to Windows 7, XP requires a custom (clean) install (your hard drive will be formatted so earasing everything) you do not meet the minimum disk space requirement (just by the standards of today ' hui).

However, there are many other vital needs that must be considered. Windows XP Home only required of 64 MB of RAM; Windows 7 requires 1 GB (1 024 MB) RAM. Windows XP Home Edition required a processor that was held at 233 MHz or faster; Windows 7 requires a processor that runs at 1 GHz or faster. And these specs for Windows 7 are the bare minimum, which would mean that Windows 7 would be but its performance would be less then optimal.

For Windows 7 complete system requirements are described on the page linked below:

    Windows 7 system requirements
     http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/system-requirements

In addition, Windows 7 was designed to run on the more recent material by using the latest technologies; your Windows XP Home Edition pc probably is at least 7 years and more. In today's technology, your system is almost ancient. Of many computers and hardware manufacturers create drivers for Windows 7 for older computers, so this can be a serious problem. You can run the free Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which will determine if your system is capable of running the new operating system:

    Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
     http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

In the Windows 7 Compatibility Center, you can search all your devices (printers, scanners, cameras, etc.) and software to determine if they are compatible with Windows 7:

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center
     http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

If your system, devices and programs the requirements for Windows 7 is entirely to you to upgrade or not, but in my humble OPINION No matter what ancient system has simply not material to make Windows 7 run the way you want, and finally you would probably be very disappointed. In other words, it may be time to think about a new computer.

  • Free space on the hard C drive.

I have window vista Home premium, 64-bit operating system. My hard drive C is full disk cleanup, I tried. Also removed the unwanted files & programs I didn't, Disk Defragmenter, and yet my C drive is full. I need space what can do?

You need a bigger hard drive. Also note that defragmentation will give you more space - it simply rearranges the pieces on your drive.
