Satellite A25-S279 - Cant Boot From USB Drive
Hello everyone. I'm new here.
Is there anyway that I can boot from a hard disk on the A25 USB? In any case to update the BIOS to give me the option to boot from USB hard drive?
I already went through the BIOS and used the HWsetup nothing helps.
I want to run Linux on a mini-usb HDD, I just picked up, but I can't seem to boot from the USB connection.
Please let me know.
Hello
You on the right, the BIOS supports a boot from the USB FDD.
BUT it is not possible to boot from the USB HARD drive or USB key
The BIOS offers these startup options:
HDD, CD/DVD, LAN or USB FDD

Satellite A100-991 - cannot boot from USB device
My Satellite A100-991 (MS Windows XP MCE, SP3) does not start from a USB key or USB hard drive. The same USB devices are bootable if they are connected to a desktop computer or a laptop from other manufacturers. I put the USB as the first boot device and use an image "Bart PE" on my USB device.
In fact, I have installed 2.10 Phoenix Bios version and I wonder if I could update the BIOS by using the 'sa105v21.exe' program and that this would resolve the startup problem.
Hello
Have you tested different USB keys? I think that your current USB key is not compatible
Also test the USB to different USB ports. A port may be defective for the computer to start t with him.Theoretically, you can try upgrading the BIOS but don t forget s a bit more risky and it should be the last step.
Prior to this, load default settings in the BIOS and check if you can boot from USB. -
Satellite A100 PSAA8E: Cannot boot from USB after Bios Update
Hello
I downloaded the latest bios (v6) for my satellite a100 (psaa8e) and after the update of the old bios, I noticed that I can not boot from USB. Is there a way to restore the old bios or will this problem solved?
See you soon
MBAnd before you can update the BIOS you were able to start the bootable CD from the external optical drive USB drive facilities?
To be honest I really don't believe it. Try to connect USB FDD and you will see that the FDD is recognized and you will be able to use it as first boot device.

Hi @kvartsnorsk
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!
I know that you are looking for drivers for Windows XP, unfortunately, this laptop was not sold configured for this OS. Drivers are available for windows 7 and 8 (32 and 64 bit)
What happens if I do not see my operating system?
On the boot USB device, it is likely that your bootable usb image isn't UEFI, so you should enable legacy boot in the BIOS to allow boot off this device.

When I set the bios to boot from removable devices with my inserted bootable usb key does not start it and comes back to my installation disk hard windows. Is this 1 / a problem with my key/OS or 2 / satellite pro does not boot from USB as a removable device or 3 / require special strikes as for the CDROM?

Elitbook revolution 810 G2: unable to boot from USB Elitbook turn 810 G2
Hello
Initially, I bought 810 rotate with 8.1 Pro window.
I've recently upgraded to 64-bit Pro 10 Windows.
The problem is that I can not boot from USB. Computer recognizes the USB drive but when I click F9 and enter in bootmode... He acknowledges as "drive hard usb ' but when I select it... it has no effect and does not start.
Could someone help me solve the problem? I need to be able to boot from USB drive...
Thank you
Windows 10 64-bit with UEFI can only boot from a GPT partition. It may be that your boot USB drive is partitioned as MBR [Master Boot Record] and should be partitioned GPT [Table of Partition GUID] for UEFI.

EliteBook 840: unable to boot from usb flash

-Computer portable hard drive
-Computer laptop Ethernet
The USB boot option do not appear.
My BIOS Version is: 01.04 worm. M71 (24/02/2015)
Note: I tested my USB key installation in the other laptop and it works very well.
Thank you for your support.

Yes, I know Rufus. How I said, I tried my USB in another laptop (a HP ENVY m4 laptop) and work very well. The difference is that the HP ENVY gave me the option to boot from USB and the EliteBook does not.
I realized that, since the post, you did.
I suggested RUFUS and EFI create setup of windows due to the startup problem, that you have with the Elitebook 840.
It may be just what you need for this particular laptop.
If you want this to work, then you must be flexible and willing to solve the problems.

Satellite A300 - Boot from USB Flash Drive
Is it possible to make my laptop boot USB flash drive?
I checked the BIOS settings, but could not find anything that allows the boot from USB.> So after 40 hours there is no one who can answer this question 'complex'... strange forum.
Hay buddy, you have good sense of humor ;)
Do you really believe that someone to sit here and wait for your non-complex question? ;)
Anyway, this issue is so simple and you don't need to ask someone here. If you do not find option bootable BIOS to set USB peripheral device for me is logical that this will not work.
Please check the BIOS settings. -
