Satellite A300 - thin light green line on screen

Hello Roy.

Please notify. Each switch-on, this thin line seems biased and permanent. He appeared a few days ago. Is this a failure of the chip in the graphics card?
How can it be rectified?

Suppose a warranty issue. Look forward to a response from forum.
Thank you.

Hello Roy

Connect the external monitor to the laptop and check it out. If the line is still there, it must be because of the graphics chip. If this isn't the case, something's wrong with the display.

Contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider as soon as possible. Certainly it comes to warranty and replacement will be free.

Good luck!

    Hello!

Do you have this problem on an external monitor too or only on the screen internal? Maybe it s not a graphics card problem. Check it!

    Hello

It of hard to say what's going wrong here, but maybe it s just a small issue that could be solved easily.
    Try this;
Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter.
A few hours and reconnect the two parts.
I had this problem in the past and leave the laptop disconnected during the night.
The next day, I connected battery and adapter A\c and the laptop worked again

  • Why my films are released in the form of thin and green lines when working in Windows Movie Maker?

When I change the video, everything seems fine. I can see the video, I can modify it. But when I publish it, it becomes a black screen with a thin, green line oriented horizontally or vertically, that it seems to vary.

I tried redownloading Windows Movie Maker (the link is on my Hotmail page) and it did not help. It's actually when the line is vertical.

The strange thing is the titles on video and audio actually appear very well. But I don't think it's my camera because the video plays very well before I publish it. So what the hell is happening?

I use a Flip camcorder if that helps.

Here's a video showing the problem. You can hear the sound and see the title wipe across the screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guL_l-YOz8E

Not sure if I have a few other Codec here or not, but I think I could.

In any case, I realized the problem WITH WMM, I went and tried to save other ways and go with more parameters: DV - AVI (PAL) works!

  • Satellite A300-114 - not reinitate after that screen stops

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-114 running Windows Vista Home Premium.
It worked well until two weeks, now, after some time of inactivity, the screen goes off and it turns on again. Spots bright disk hard but the screen remains black. This becomes more often.

Does anyone have the idea, what the problem?

    Thanks :)

    Hi jjginga,

Have you tried an external monitor to your laptop computer? It's interesting because if you can identify if this is related to the internal screen or graphics card.

I had a similar problem on my laptop that the internal screen was black, only the outer one worked. The solution was replacing FL inverter or screen internal.

  • Satellite A300 - system still works, but the screen is blank

    Hello

I was downloading an update of tempro toshiba (synco or something in that sense) for my laptop Satellite A300 and the frozen screen. I pressed the power button for 5-10 seconds until it is turned off. When I turned it the system seemed to work but the screen is completely black.

I tried to remove the battery, and fn + F5 but the screen still won't turn on.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Rob.

    Hello

It happened because of the updated BIOS, or during the common software update?
In case it was an update of the BIOS I recommend contact the ASP in your country, because it seems that the ROM module must be flashed again.

If it happened during a common software update, so I advise to remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour.
Then reconnect the two parts and check to see if you could power the laptop properly!

    Check it out!

  • Satellite A300-211 - light button has stopped working

    Hello

    How people you?
I have an annoying problem with my Toshiba Satellite A300-211.
I had windows vista Home premium 32-bit installed on it but then I removed and started using windows 7 ultimate 64-bit and a result of one touch media buttons used to switch the led light on and off changed its function and began to put the sound on and off.

It is blinking but does not.

    Can someone help?

    Hello

    Check it!

Moreover, as far as I know you can configure media buttons by using the software.

  • Green line on screen - Tecra A2

    Hello

I have a problem with the screen. There is a green line appearing to the left corner of the screen and still a thing was I want to change the cover of my laptop.

Do we get shells? Please answer.

    Hello

If possible try to connect the external display to your Tecra and check if the problem persists. On this way, you will know if this issue may be due to display or the graphics card.

If you need some parts for your laptop, you can contact partner service authorized in your country or check if you can find some independent services and order all the parts you need. eBay is also a place where you can find many parts for Toshiba laptops.

  • Satellite A300-1HV: light button does not work

    Hi guys,.

I recently bought a Satellite A300-1HV, and while that in the store, the salesman showed me it was possible to turn off the light behind the function/media at the top of the keyboard buttons. It seems to do by simply pressing the first button (the mute button).

When I got home I tried several times, and he did in fact machine do what I expected (i.e. off lighting). The manual describes the first button under the button "Mute or LED power. Later that night, I tried the button again once, but this time it acted as a mute button and either turns off the lighting. In addition, the second button (CD/DVD) no longer seems to work at all, although it lights up when you press.

I tried the Toshiba Assist software and am able to manually turn off the lighting, but the 'Toshiba button Support' seems to have no effect on buttons. I guess this would allow me to set up manually a program runs when I press one of two buttons, but no matter what I ask it to run, it does nothing.

It's as if there is a piece of software that should be run, leading the keys, that I do not have (or at least no longer have).

    Any ideas?

    Hello

You can enable this back in the BIOS.
You can access this menu by pressing the F2 key when turned on the machine.

Select the Advanced section and turn on LED lighting.

    See you soon

  • Red/green line on screen of laptop

So, whenever we go out, my family put my laptop under a couch to hide. This has been done several times, and this time when I pulled it out and opened it, there was a vertical green line on the screen... I lifted the laptop and thought maybe something underneath was loose, then a red line appears beside that green...

Anyone have any ideas on what is wrong? The lines are still there, for two days. I don't drop it or anything, but just maybe I put him on the ground too hard. I searched on the internet and get the results of "broken screen", "broken video card", "Reinstall video card", "some things are cowards"... no idea what to do. If anyone have experienced this, please help!

My laptop is Compaq Presario A900, is told by the way. Had for about... 2 years. Or less.

    Looks like this:

and no, I didn't sit on it or drop it, ever. This is why I still don't think that the cables of the screen are screwed or the screen is broken. Other problems, perhaps? Thank you.

    Hello

1TS restart to ensure that nothing works to influence the following process.

Change the resolution of your screen to a little lower - OK. Change for a bit higher than it was (all the way)
the lines change their locations or they stay in the same place? If they stay in the same place then it
There's a chance that the screen has been damaged. You can reset the resolution as desired.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Now this

Control Panel / Device Manager - graphics cards - writing down of the brand and complete model of the device.
Double-click it and write the version - now click on update drivers (this could do nothing as MS is
far behind certification pilot) - now do a RIGHT CLICK on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT which will refresh
    the driver stack.

Then go to system Maker and get the latest drivers (or the same if not more recent ones) - download - SAVE-
go to where you put - top - right click RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT.

    http://www.Compaq.com/country/cpq_support.html

I hope that your lines have disappeared.

    If not try this-

Start - type in the search box - MSCONFIG will find at the top of the list right click - RUN AS ADMIN.

General tab - note what settings are there now - select Diagnostic startup - APPLY / OK - REBOOT

Are the lines still there? If this isn't the case, then you have a program or service starting up causing their.

  • Why am I a thin blue vertical line on screen?

Why am I a thin blue vertical line on the screen of my PrecisionM4800

.? Is there problem with Video card?

    Hello Karthi.SK44,

Thanks for writing on the Dell Community Forum.

I suggest you to test the display on the external monitor to confirm if the screen is bad on external monitor while the motherboard is faulty.

Then run LCD BIST (built-in self-test) on the system to shut down the system, then press and hold the power button. Then put on the system where, in solid colors will be visible on the system. If the line is visible during the test, then the screen is defective.

If these two tests pass and then make sure that the system ins safe mode with network to eliminate the operating system.

I hope this helps. If there are questions more respond to this message.

    Nice day!

    Sincere greetings,

  • Satellite L300D-20R - horizontal white line on screen

Switched my laptop this morning and the display is simmering and seems to have a shadow. The top 2 inches is OK; under the tent of 2 inches, there is a horizontal white line about 1/16 "thick. below this line, the screen is simmering, appears dark and foggy.

What can I do to fix this?

That's better than you can do. I assume that the display is faulty somehow.

  • Satellite A205-S4577 - multicolored mobile lines on screen

I have an A205-S4577 (Vista) and have had problems with this laptop for about a year. I tried this last year of troubleshooting but has not had time to go in depth and had to buy another laptop in the meantime. I'm back to try and solve this problem, and in the meantime, I found that now the battery is dead and the laptop works only when it is plugged.

In any case, the problem started all of a sudden, I would like to open a session, start and after a short period (approximately 5 minutes) my screen would disappear and I would get a bunch of colourful lines on the screen and would force power off of the machine. I was able to operate in all Modes of security. I found Toshiba and Applications recovery disks / drivers and today attempted to restart the whole machine. I was off to a good start and then "poof" these boring but nice lines appeared! EU force the machine to stop because lines prevents you from doing anything else. Now I can turn on only machine, will get the 'Security Mode' option, then when I select one, the laptop goes to never never land. I was able to boot the laptop using the recovery disks, obtained as a screen that asked a selection (missing to fast to see what was requested) and then the appararurent lines again. Any suggestions?

Lines appear in all colors, sometimes green and blue, other times red and blue, not a constant model. Any suggestions will be appreciated. P.S. I already opened the laptop and cleaned the fans who have little dust! The machine is about 3 years old and more

    Hi nskmartinez,

For me, it sounds like a hardware malfunction or the other of these lines are caused by the internal monitor or the graphics card itself. Way simpler to check that connects to an external monitor. If the same phenomenon occurs on external monitor its problem of graphics card and the motherboard needs to be replaced.

If you need spare parts, you can contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys are able to order all the parts of Toshiba. In addition, they can help allows you to replace the parts if you are not familiar with the disassembly of the laptop.

Sorry for this standard more or less answer but here to user s only forum and if it s really a hardware malfunction you need professional help to get the spare parts and replace them. In addition, you have already tried the recovery disk that must be always and work and if not-online hardware problem.

  • Satellite A300 - no lighting with WXP

    Hello

Excuse me for my bad English.
My Toshiba A300 (Sat - 1EC) OS went from Vista to XP. Easy keys, keys shortcut and illumination stopped working.

Thanks a lot of information from this forum, I downloaded the four drivers of Toshiba Support (Common, Hotkey, utilities, control).
Everything is OK, except the LED lighting. First (left) of rounds easy touch power switch sound (like the Fn + ESC), but no lighting.

    What can be wrong?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Have you chosen the right option in Toshiba control tool buttons?

Usually, you should find this in Control Panel-> Toshiba controls

With this tool, you can configure the simple buttons.
Select on / off lighting in the first settings button, and then save the changes.
Then check the functionality of the light button again!

    Welcome them
