Satellite A305 - how to clean the keyboard after juice spills

Hey guys,.

I had a the sSatellite series A305 an i could not find discussions on this exactly.
Basically whats up's had one incident minor orange juice on the left side of the keyboard thankfully not a lot of juice to all minor.
I managed to clean most on the surface. And had to work it's good enough to get out of the speaker box.

However, some of the keys are a bit of stick now, i wondered if there are techniques to withdraw safely on that I must do before I try to block these keys. Hmm pressing on enter appear... in any case...

I had one of these laptops before a few months ago, but one of the keys is broken somehow, after that, I got a little worried because I had to basically return it and get another laptop from work. If im sure it was a defective key with the last one I was not playing with keys, but I'm not sure how sustainable this is. Also this will probably also help to learn how to clean the keyboard, theres a bit of a dust and grump under the space bar which has been botherin me an i have no idea how to remove one get clean the dirt below.

I'll check this post when I wake up in the morning. If you know the techniques of hair removal good explain please, I'm not very good with directions so patient with me.

Hello

To be honest, you will never be able to clean the keyboard. Break down the water is maybe not so bad, but the juice is sticky and can not be cleaned properly.
I'm afraid that you need a new keyboard. :(

    Hello out there.
I spilled my L350-24U with Orange juice.
    Now, I have 4 keys to self-retaining :-(

Can someone tell me how to clean the keyboard without damaging the laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

Hmm, it's still a stupid situation
Usually you can remove the keyboard of the laptop very easily.
The keyboard is fixed with screws hidden under thin plastic cover near the line of F1 - F12 key.

If you would remove plastic this cover then you would be able to remove the screws as well. Then you could lift the keyboard carefully and could disconnect the flat cable of the keyboard and the motherboard.

Notes; two small latches on both sides of the connector must be moved in order to disconnect the cable.

Then you could remove the keyboard and could clean it with a damp lint.
PS: the caps can be removed too.
But be very careful. You must raise the CAP to get it for free.

  • Satellite L745 - how to remove the keyboard safely?

    Hello, people!

I need help please. As the topic says, how to remove the keyboard?
It's because I shared tea on my keyboard and, fortunately, no key was damaged. However, now it is sticky, and it is quite annoying!

Can someone please help me with the entrance keys, Shift, back space * and other small keys at home.

    Thanks in advance.

    Sticky Keys?
I really put t know if you will be able to clean the little mechanism under the CAP.

OK you can try it. What you need to do is remove the key cap first. Pull it gently on the floor. It is set with small farmers in plastic. When the CAP is removed, you can check the situation and try to clean it up.

When finished put the CAP in place and push it all smoothly. You will hear clicking noise and everything should be OK again. Do it for all the keys.

Please take it very easy. If you damage this small mechanism you can immediately order new lkeyboard.

  • Satellite M40X-112: malfunction of the keyboard after you emptied a cup of tea

    Good evening to everyone.

My girlfriend has emptied her cup of tea on his portable Satellite M40x-112.

Now everything works except the keys R, F, V, Fn.

Does anyone have experience with such a problem? The laptop is still not out of warranty.
So, I don't want to open it to clean the keys by behind.

So any advice or tips or something else (with the exception of the stupid remarks) would be useful.

    Thank you...

    Fischhaendler

    HEY Bela,

If you're lucky then spilt tea will only have caused a short-circuit in the keyboard itself and won't not flowed through to the motherboard. In this case, it would be possible to clean the keyboard or have it replaced by an authorized Service partner (to maintain the guarantee).

Unfortunately, you will not be between the ab and do you much because it will be dismantled and that would invalidate the warranty.

  • HP 350 G1: How to clean the keyboard on HP 350 G1

    Hello

I want to clean the keyboard on my laptop HP 350 G1, but I'm afraid that simply 'pull' the keys (which I used to do with those old keyboards of desk) would cause damage to the keyboard.

Pull the key out (with an object such as a knife) safe to do on this laptop, or is there a more secure method to open the keyboard for cleaning?

    Thanks in advance

  • Re: Satellite P870 - how to change the keyboard backlight ON?

We can see from the Web from Toshiba as Satellite P870 site (and other series like P850, L870, etc.) are NEW backlit keyboard. How to service this backlit?

FN - Z does not work. Also, I do not see any symbol associated with this function on the keyboard of my P870. It is also very strange due to the fact that my P870 has all the other features "fantasies" (good screen, sound, Blu - ray, HDMI, Eco option connector (backlit keyboard does not respond on on / off Eco).)

    Thank you

    Hello

Can you please post exact model laptop (P870-xxx)? I just want to check the specifications for your model of laptop.
The small keyboard symbol is laced on the Z key?

  • Satellite 1730, how to remove the keyboard?

The keyboard of my laptop is not working properly, so I have to use an external keyboard. This works well, but one of the keys on the internal keyboard is pressed, and the situation is therefore onworkable. Somehow disable the internal keyboard? Or does anyone know how to disconnect inside?

    Hi Jan,

As much as I know there is no disable for keyboard function. If you want you can try to uninstall it, but I'm sure that after the reboot it will be recognized again.

If you have any success to disable the keyboard please let me know.

  • How to clean the keyboard to carve Microsoft?

    Hey all,.

I recently bought Microsoft digital Sculpt keyboard, keypad and mouse - I am quite satisfied with these elements.

However a month after use, the keyboard seems in disarray, I can live with the stains on the plastic but not with discoloration and General uncleanliness of the soft padding. I use them in my office, and that is not acceptable, because I often have clients on...

Should what products I use to clean and maintain it?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Ivaylo Hello,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forum of the Microsoft community.

I understand your concern for the maintenance of your keyboard. If your question is not technical, and Microsoft does not provide the kits of cleaning with keyboards, I can certainly help you locate some instructions and guidelines on the use and cleaning of the Microsoft keyboard sculpt. You can download the product guide in the link below and see the procedure in respect of its use and cleaning:

  • Portege R700 - how to clean the keyboard keys?

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Portege R700 - and I spilled coke on a small part of the keyboard.
Not surprisingly, the two or three keys are now "sticky."

Is it as simple as access to the keyboard and the relevant keys of cleaning?
Or is it not that simple?
If I can do this, is there a pictorial guide on access to the keyboard?

I'm reluctant to open first without consulting the tech manual.

    Thank you

    Hello

In my opinion, you will not be able to clean it properly. Coke is full of sugar. It can be complicated, but you can try it.

In the worst cases, you must exchange he keyboard.
So what you need to do is to remove Cap key for each critical button. It is set with small farmers in plastic. Just take something like the credit card but more stabile, put under the key cap and try to remove it. Under the key CAP is little key mechanism. Try to clean it with a damp cloth. Be careful and clean without a lot of pressure.

When you think it's OK place the key cap and press it very gently of course.

You'll hear the clicking noise and the cp key should be up again.

I hope that you will be able to make it work again.
    Please post comments.

  • Satellite P20 - beeps at startup after cleaning the keyboard

    Hey!

I have a Satellite P20, which is strange. I have cleaned the keyboard (deleted, took apart and cleaned all the keys) but when I boot up to now (I have connected the keyboard) it will * beep beep * beep beep beep beep * on me (sounds like one of those things in the hospital). If I wait for some time, it ends by starts XP but then some keys (5%) did not respond (S and arrow down to name a few).

I tried to start with the keyboard disconnected and that works like a charm.

Then it is the keyboard that is defective? (I'd rather not buy a new one just to have the same problem) or is it keyboard connector or hurt (I have unplug and connected the keyboard several times)

I am very grateful for any help or advice I can get.

    Best regards

    / Martin

It is strange, but maybe the keyboard is defective, as you say.
Or you don t have the keyboard connected to mainboad correctly. Check again.

Maybe a key is always pushed and get the beeps. Select this check box.

I already posted this time. How to clean UNDER my keyboard on my Satellite M115-S3094?

I really need to know how to get the keyboard up, or do I have to remove each key for this? Someone please help.

It of possible to remove only the plastic of the keyboard keys.

Then you can try using a vacuum cleaner and could thoroughly clean dust and debris from the keyboard.

    see you soon

    Bob

    Hello Bob

The keyboard replacement procedure is almost on all Toshiba laptops. At, first of all it must remove the cover above the keyboard (where the buttons are placed).

After doing this to remove the keyboard is very easy.

BTW: is your laptop under warranty? Please be careful about this.

    Hello

Check if the LED under the F10 or / and F11 keys lights.
If yes then disable this feature with the FN + F10 or + F11 key combination
