Satellite A60: High CPU Temperature

Hello world
excuse for my bad English (I'm french)

so I have a little problem with my laptop. It's a satellite A60.
The temperature of my CPU is at about 70 ° C which is a little too high.
What can I do to fix this?

THX

Hello

70 ° C is not too high, but trying to clean the cooling fans.
Use the vacuum.

    Hello

My computer is hung up on me while running certain applications (such as Dreamweaver CS3) or other situations in which work the CPU at maximum performance. I suspect that the reason is high CPU temperatures and indeed download several CPU, monitor applications (like thermal analyst intel) my average CPU temperature is around 61 degrees (Celsius), and before the computer hangs (instantly - just completely stop lose power), it reaches very high and not necessairly after working for a long time.

    My questions:
    1. is this a known problem with this model?
    2. is there anything I can do to limit this problem and avoid data loss?

    Thanks in advance,

I think you will need to contact the ASP in your country for assistance.
In your case maybe the cooling module may not work correctly. Probably the thermal grease that is placed between the CPU and the cooling module must be renewed.

All these things need to be clarified.
    So call it the ASP.

  • Satellite A300-1ID - high CPU temperature

    Hello

I have a Satellite A300-1ID, 2 years and since I bought the computer I felt he was always hot, but I guess that's normal.
In the first year I wasn't playing any recent games, computer was at a normal temperature, but this year, I bought a few games and the computer after an hour + - gameplay disable because overheating. I have a program to see the temperature of the cpu and when I play it is around 80 - 90 c: O

I post this topic because the atm, even with the computer only @ office, with the low CPU, my cpu usage is around 70 ° c. It's a little high, I guess, because it was about 50 ° c some time ago. The idea how to improve the cooling of the computer? already cleaned the fan, and I also use a base so the "fabric" of the table be stick to the fan.

This high temperature is normal for this model?

    Best regards, leech

    Hello

    > the cpu temperature, and when I play it's around 80 - 90 c

There is nothing unusual, playing games makes Cpu and Gpu hard.

    > . The idea how to improve the cooling of the computer? already cleaned the fan, and I also use a base so the "fabric" of the table be stick to the fan.

You can't have the cooling of your laptop module improve you. Theoretically, you can do it if you a computer engineer. I want to find more powerful fan, calculate the rated output, voltage...
You can also get a cooling pad, it's not expensive. Maybe, you need to replace a thermal grease.

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite P745 - S4217 CPU reached almost 100 ° c, just a couple of minutes ago it worked @98ºC is thre I can do?

I really need help quickly because im worried about the CPU, it could reduce its durability and also be damaged.

    Please, any avice is welcome.

Finally, he reached 100 ° c, the highest acceptable temperature for the CPU according to intel what can I do?

  • Satellite A200-14F - CPU temperature reached 80 c

    Hello

I have A200-14F. When I'm coding a video two processor cores temperature gets really close to 80 C. for the most part it's C 78 or 79 C.
I am seriously concerned about this. Is - this safe temperature? I don't think it's safe to work at 80 ºC for about 12 hours.
Currently I am slow speed of the processor through energy saving settings.

This temperature is safe for my laptop? Should I fear not overheating? Or should slow enough CPU to lower temperatures than i?

    Concerning

    Hello

Usually the laptop would shut down automatically to prevent the equipment from damage if the internal temperature would be too high.
In addition the 80 c is rich but not too high. AFAIK the CPU temperature can reach 100 c max, but I think that your laptop would be closed before CPU should reach this temperature.

What you could do is to clean the vents. Sometimes the cooling modules may not cool properly because the vents are blocked.

    Good bye

  • Compaq 8510w - high CPU temperature

    Hello

Anyone know why the temperature of the CPU of my Compaq 8510w may be relatively high during normal operation?

These two processors CPU temperature is about 65-70 degrees Celsius.

Furthermore - the fan blows constantly as well...

    Thanks in advance

During the idle time / normal operating temperatures are about 45-55 degrees Celsius.

    Is this a normal behavior?

    Thanks in advance

    SJW

45-55 degrees Celsius are time normal idle and light use. The Maximum temp your CPU is designed to support is 105 degrees Celsius.  You shouldn't get really concerned until you start to see temperatures above 80-85 degrees Celsius.

  • Portege M400 - high CPU temperature

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the temperature of the CPU in my M400 (Vista OS). When I have the computer power, initial temperature is 35 ° C, but after about 15 minutes of work, he climbs to 60 ° C and remained there.

Reached last night 80 c and I was really interested. I tried anything to upgrade the BIOS (v3.6) to change power options in Vista.

I don't know if it's really funny, but a few days ago, I placed a package of chocolate alongside the cooler (about 10 cm) and after 5 minutes I noticed, that it started to melt. :(

Help, please! Any suggestion is welcome!

    Kind regards

60 c are nothing unusual. My CPU temperature going up to 70 - 90 c to play or watch DVDs.

Your laptop computer shut down automatically? If this isn't the case, then you should t be worried.
The notebooks are supported protection against overheating. If the laptop could overheat then the laptop would be closed automatically to prevent the equipment from damage.

On the other hand, it would be interesting to know if your cooling modules can run wit a maximum return. Sometimes, the fans are blocked and cannot cool the CPU and the GPU.

From time to time, I clean my fans to make sure that the coolant is good enough.

Maybe you should clean the fans too.

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite L650D - 16Q - high CPU temperature

I have the high temperature of my CPU when im play is not on the next screen
    http://ImageShack.us/f/708/Temperatura.PNG/

When I play the temperature is around _73_ Celsius and _63 percent _, cooler _80 percent _ speed
    The temperature rises immediately.
    I worry about this.
I bought my satellite 2 months ago, I don't know what is recommended temperature and fan speed. How to reduce the temperature? My fan does not?

In my opinion there is no reason to panic. When you play games, it makes sense that the CPU and GPU must offer more performance and these hardware components will produce also more heat. Sensors on the motherboard to register this heat and fans will be auto activated to operate with a higher speed and a hard recovery.

This is nothing unusual. 73 for the processor temperature is certainly not the critical temperature level.

  • Satellite A100-192 - high CPU temperature

    Hello

I have this laptop for several months. Up to now, cpu temp was about 63 degrees Celsius at the Summit. Since a few days temp is 63 maximum idle and 73 when... the game worms 2!
    What could go wrong?

There is nothing that would drain my cpu, nothing has changed, the CPU has a good air circulation.
I don't know what to do. When I play the need for speed: carbon, the game freezes and hungs after awhile.

    Help, please.

    Hello

You know that each device preinstalled in the notebook produced heat.
Sometimes more operating devices with maximum performance. The devices run with maximum when performance performance heavyweight like games runs on the laptop.

On my laptop Toshiba power saver determines the method of cooling and the processing speed of the CPU. I think that this is also preinstalled on your laptop. Therefore, you should first check these options.

Second Toshiba graphics driver must be installed on the laptop and not any other because the Toshiba has the driver supports protection against overheating. This driver controls the performance of the graphics card. If the temperature rises to a higher level if the driver decreases the performance of the graphics card.

Last but not least, you should check your module cooling fans. Sometimes the dust and debris keep the laptop cooling properly.
You must also have sufficient free space around the laptop for cool air circulation.

  • Satellite C50-A490 - CPU temperature

    Just bought this laptop: [Satellite_C50-A490 | http://www.toshibamea.com/ComputerProduct/4/Satellite_C50-A490/52838?pageid=4]

I'm trying to understand the temperature of the cpu because there is a beautiful piece of hot air coming from the area of the processor fan and I don't know if these cpu runs at temperatures higher than those of the old i5.

Let me first, I thought it was four hearts, but apparently it's 2 core, wire 4: [Intel ARKIntel-Core-i5 - 4200M | http://ark.intel.com/products/76348/Intel-Core-i5-4200M-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_10-GHz] (do not really understand that).

    Download Core Temp (http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/) and Core #0 is currently 46 ° C and Core #1 is 44 ° C (min is either the 44 ° and 47 ° C in both cases).

I could not install the Toshiba Health Monitor, but I guess that if the above values are OK then there is no problem.

Just checking that it will become very hot in this part of the world where the (climate) outdoor temperature is 40 ° C today and it will rise next week...

    > Core #0 is currently 46 ° C and Core #1 is 44 ° C (min is either the 44 ° and 47 ° C in both cases).
Ehmm and what's the problem exactly?
The two temperature values seems OK to me.

  • Z585 high CPU temperature

Hi, I hope someone can help me with the high time that I receive on my CPU. When I turn on the machine I get time to 97oC on idle which seems massively high all about because the max is 100 ° c. I tried several monitoring applications and they come all upward with the same time, is this a known problem?

Have you tried Coretemp. HWMonitor and HWinfo have bugs with APU AMD processors. It should say somewhere around 40-50 degrees Celsius. Speedfanis another program that I know which signals specific temperatures for GEA.

  • Satellite A60 - issue CPU upgrade

    Hi there people.

I have upgraded memory on old enough computer a60 laptop my gf, but want to upgrade the processor as well now that she is running the celeron 2.8.
The laptop manual says I can have the following processor:

Intel celeron up to 2.8 ghz (which I currently have)
Mobile Intel pentium 4 to 3.06 ghz processor
Processor mobile Intel pentium 4 up to 3.2 ghz supporting htt

other processors can be introduced and a cache of level 2 of 128kb to 1 mb

I'm still working on the question of if it means that I can have the 130 nm northwood 3.2ghz or if I can get the 90nm prescott 3.2 ghz.

If I could have the prescott, I would not be able to get the 3.46 ghz prescott?
These processors are quite hard to find, I am just checking to see if I can have one of these..., also is it easy to enter and change the chip inside the laptop :D

While I'm asking, is it worth the upgrade of the 40 GB HDD at 4200 RPM for a 7200 RPM one?

Thanks a lot for your time people

I would not install a Prescott, they become very hot! The cooling fan may not be able to keep the CPU cool.

Install a Northwood would be the best option. The search in google, it seems that this laptop can accept permanently of the Northwood processor.

The jump of a Celeron to a Northwood is a big step. But Northwood in Prescott is only a small step.

I would choose this one: http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL77N

With regard to the HARD drive, 7200 TPM can become hot and is noisy and is not much faster than a drive 5400 RPM. A 5400 RPM HARD drive would be the smart choice.

  • Temperature CPU of the Satellite A60 Pentium 4 2.80 Ghz

2 months ago, I bought the Satellite A60. I felt that the temperature of the CPU becomes very high, I downloaded a program that monitors the CPU-temperatur. Especially during the games JAVA the temp was 78 degrees Celsius. What is the normal temperature, and if the temperature is high, what can I do about it?

    Hi Thuder251,

in my opinion, 78 degrees Celsius is a bit hot for a P4 in a notebook.

The best way is to put the laptop to your dealer or to a Toshiba Service partner.

Go to https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com - Support & downloads, you will find a list of all the European partners in Service.

I would ask him if they can do a stress test and check if the P4 is really hot.

You are guaranteed and therefore this short assessment should be no problem.
