Satellite A200-14F - CPU temperature reached 80 c

Hello

I have A200-14F. When I'm coding a video two processor cores temperature gets really close to 80 C. for the most part it's C 78 or 79 C.
I am seriously concerned about this. Is - this safe temperature? I don't think it's safe to work at 80 ºC for about 12 hours.
Currently I am slow speed of the processor through energy saving settings.

This temperature is safe for my laptop? Should I fear not overheating? Or should slow enough CPU to lower temperatures than i?

Concerning

Hello

Usually the laptop would shut down automatically to prevent the equipment from damage if the internal temperature would be too high.
In addition the 80 c is rich but not too high. AFAIK the CPU temperature can reach 100 c max, but I think that your laptop would be closed before CPU should reach this temperature.

What you could do is to clean the vents. Sometimes the cooling modules may not cool properly because the vents are blocked.

Good bye

  • Update satellite A200 - 14F CPU T7400/T7600 and BIOS update

    Hello

I want to upgrade my current Core Duo T2450 CPU to something faster or T7400, T7600.

I know that PM945 will manage it but what about the BIOS? I have 1.80 which is the last for my model.

Where can I find that some BIOS change log to see if the newer processors are supported?

Are you sure that you want to upgrade the processor?
An upgrade of the CPU will not bring much more performance but mobile CPU's are fairly expensive and maybe they are not supported in the BIOS or motherboard.

Moreover, Toshiba doesn't support a CPU Exchange. You can do this, but at your own risk.

Normally a BIOS change log you can find on the driver of Toshiba download page, but if you can find t we Web does not exist on the site.
But I'm pretty sure that Toshiba doesn't add new taken processors supported by a new BIOS because it s not supported.

  • Satellite L650-14F - maximum temperature of the CPU

Hello guys and sorry for my language.

Can you tell me what is the optimum temperature for this laptop and what is the maximum temperature?
    Thank you

    Hello

The CPU temperature is based on a large number of factors and also depending on the CPU model.

Why is it so important to you?

If you start Toshiba PC Health Monitor, you can check the temperature. It shows a graph of reading.

  • Satellite A60: High CPU Temperature

    Hello world
excuse for my bad English (I'm french)

so I have a little problem with my laptop. It's a satellite A60.
The temperature of my CPU is at about 70 ° C which is a little too high.

    THX

    Hello

70 ° C is not too high, but trying to clean the cooling fans.
    Use the vacuum.

  • Stop Vista automatically on the Satellite A200-14F (PSAECE)

System stops - but re - start automatically. Have updated the BIOS, but still no luck. Have tried all the settings on Vista power options.

For me, it looks a bit like a problem of overheating or a problem of Vista system.

    Let's talk about overheating;

Usually the laptop stops automatically if the temperature reaches a critical threshold. Then the notebooks overheat protection stops the laptop to prevent material damage.
Especially, the temperature rises to a higher level because notebooks modules of cooling don't work properly.
You can try to clean the fans with a professional pneumatic sprayer.
It s a really useful tool for blowing air even if the railings of cooling and get rid of the dust and debris. These sprays, you can buy a portable computer/computer dealer.

    But this problem could be related to a software problem;
In this case, I would recommend reinstallation of the operating system with the Toshiba Recovery CD.

    Best regards

    Hello, I have a problem with A200-14F.
I instaled XP and now I can't find the driver for GeForce Go 7300. Please help me.

What is on Google and other similar pages? My A200 has Intel graphics card and I can't test anything for you, but perhaps this link may help http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winvista_x86_158.24_uk.html

  • Satellite C50-A490 - CPU temperature

    Just bought this laptop: [Satellite_C50-A490 | http://www.toshibamea.com/ComputerProduct/4/Satellite_C50-A490/52838?pageid=4]

I'm trying to understand the temperature of the cpu because there is a beautiful piece of hot air coming from the area of the processor fan and I don't know if these cpu runs at temperatures higher than those of the old i5.

Let me first, I thought it was four hearts, but apparently it's 2 core, wire 4: [Intel ARKIntel-Core-i5 - 4200M | http://ark.intel.com/products/76348/Intel-Core-i5-4200M-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_10-GHz] (do not really understand that).

    Download Core Temp (http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/) and Core #0 is currently 46 ° C and Core #1 is 44 ° C (min is either the 44 ° and 47 ° C in both cases).

I could not install the Toshiba Health Monitor, but I guess that if the above values are OK then there is no problem.

Just checking that it will become very hot in this part of the world where the (climate) outdoor temperature is 40 ° C today and it will rise next week...

    > Core #0 is currently 46 ° C and Core #1 is 44 ° C (min is either the 44 ° and 47 ° C in both cases).
Ehmm and what's the problem exactly?
The two temperature values seems OK to me.

  • Satellite L350-14F - high temperature

I own a L350-14F and going crazy from the heat and the noise of the fans.
Temperatures of 70-75 degrees CELSIUS (= 160-165) are 'normal' for a few minutes after starting.
The hottest areas are on the side left (where the fan is) and on the upper right of the touchpad.
These times are really standard... even when I'm not using it!
With some intensive programs, I even noticed 92 degrees CELCIUS!

I tried to reinstall everything and assuming that it was caused by a faulty driver or something. But not.
Using the Toshiba restore disks, did not help.
Using an original CD of Windows Vista has not helped either
Update all the drivers have not helped either

    There is one thing that helps, but slows down the laptop;
in the BIOS there is a parameter named "Multi-Core-transformation" which has 2 options

    * Dynamic
    * Always low

Initially, it is located in Dynamics.
But when I set to always low temperatures, less than about 45 degrees Celsius, (and the fans are not as strong).
It is not a real solution but it solves the problem of heat

The machine is completely up to date with all the drivers, patches and updates (even vista SP2)
But also after a full restore using the Toshiba disc problem stay.

Anyone knows a solution or cause?

Thank you very much for the comments.

On this forum that a lot of people want to use non-Toshiba display driver and I've tried to explain as many times that these drivers are not optimized and tested on Toshiba laptops.
I am very happy that you confirm my opinion on these drivers.

You got your laptop with the tested drivers. Perhaps the graphic performance is not the best but graphics card is not required to run at high or maximum level. The laptop will be cooled properly, the cooling fan will be not strong and constantly run and, of course, there is no risk of damaging the equipment.

55 degrees is certainly normal working temperature.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A200-14F - standby and hibernation does not work

    Hello
I bought A200-14th with Windows Vista preinstalled. When I switched to Windows XP, I discovered that the standby and hibernation works. When I try to switch to the standby screen becomes black, but power light gets not "Brown" as it should. It is blue. From time to time, HDD light flashes also.

I tried to reinstall Windows twice, but it does not work every time. Once, I installed the drivers in some are specific as well as I did the job. But unfortunately I had to reinstall XP once more, and I do not remember that I should install the drivers.

If you have had the similar problem please write what I have to do.

    Concerning

    Hello

    > When I switched to Windows XP, I discovered that does not work on standby and hibernation.
After Installing Win XP, you must update the BIOS to the XP version.
You should check the page European driver of Toshiba. There are BIOS for Win XP.

After the BIOS update you reinstall Windows XP, the latest status update and install all Toshiba drivers and utilities.

But before you contact the ASP in your country for the control of the screen and laptop, you must first access the BIOS and it should define the default settings. Then save the changes.

  • Re: Satellite A200-14F - after 10 minutes, as the battery is just 10% of 100%

    Hello

My question is simple. When I use my laptop computer and I use the battery power, the battery icon shows me after 10 minutes that the battery is just 10% of 100%. Does that mean that my battery is "dying"? Should I buy a new one?

    Thanks for help.

    Tomas Fric, Czech Republic

I'm afraid you are right and your battery loses capacity because it doesn t work properly.
Remove the battery and check the part number on the sticker. Use this number to order a new one.

  • Satellite A200-14F and 4 GB of Ram

    Hello

I have a question. Today I install on my laptop two nine 2 GB sticks, and when my notebook BIOS start show only 3 GB?

Now, how can everyone I solve this?

    Best regards

    PS

    I have 5.20 BIOS.

Do you use the preinstalled Toshiba operating system.
Toshiba laptops are pre-installed and shipped with the 32 bit OS. early 32-bit XP and now Vista 32 bit.

According to information from Microsoft and Toshiba the * BIOS * and the operating system reports about 3 GB due to the limitation of the 32-bit system.
