Satellite C50D - Initial account set up - now wrong password

I've just set up my new C50D satellite. This required me to create an account and a password. When the system was finally opened, I went to set up emails and he asked my password and it says it's a mistake.

I tried to reset and it says I need a flash player to do this. Insert a pen into each USB drive on the thing and they all said, this isn't a pass password reset disk!

Any suggestions?

Hello

As far as I know, you can try to use USB or CD. I don't really know what went wrong, but please try again.
Very nice tutorial on this topic, you can find here.

Please test once more. It should work somehow.

  • Satellite C50D - B - 11 X - weird display problem after installing iTunes

    Hi all
I just installed the latest version of iTunes on my Satellite C50D - B - 11 X, and now I can not see any picture of video players. reading online (youtube, etc.) or from CyberLink PowerDVD. All I get is a green screen where the video should be. The audio plays very well, but I do not see a thing. I uninstalled iTunes, but it made no difference. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Adam

I read in various forums that resettlement of the Quicktime would help solve this problem of green screen.

In addition I recommend you to install the playback software VLC freeware for testing purposes.
This player supports almost all video formats, and you should be able to read your local videos properly.

  • Satellite M100-180: put wrong password - error now 'system off 65017 '.

I had technical problems with my Toshiba Satellite M100-180.

Let me tell you a story.

    I bought my laptop on 13/12/2006 model is Toshiba Satellite M100 - 180 T2600 (2.16) G 1/100; Card mother HAQAA.

So, a month ago my laptop could not start due to asking me a password. HM... I never put the password on my laptop. So, I had brought my Toshiba at the center of service to this problem. So they tried they couldn't achieve success even if they strap the CMOS_CLR1.

Triple entering the wrong password my laptop gives this message: "system disabled 65017." So, as my Toshiba warranty is the guy in the service center have offered to replace the motherboard.

It seems too expensive, given that I could buy another new laptop (okay, it will, no doubt) for that price.
Really, I don't like this idea, because it's too expensive and I like really my laptop.

The guys in the service center said my private that, most likely, there is the content of the EEPROM was twisted. And if I'm going to find the same other portable executables, they could use his image from EEPROM to save my Toshiba.
    So, the question is.

Where to find this EEPROM image that fits my phone or how to solve the problem?

Please, help me, it's a question of work and success.
Please, I beg you. I'm really in despair...

    I know you answer.

    Hi mate

I think the guy meant the ROM module that is part of the motherboard and BIOS there maybe stored such ROM module needs to be replaced and would avoid the replacement of the motherboard
But this is only my personal opinion

Maybe you could buy a second-hand M100 where the motherboard is not too bad then just the motherboard could be changed and would not be expensive as new motherboard

  • Satellite C50D-B-120 is slow

the touchpad freezes and even browse the web is a battle.

I can't even watch videos on you tube, I bought 2 and they are 4 days old

    something is very wrong.

    Hello

What you wrote in your first assignment is the theme that we have on this forum for years. New laptops are slow. You can find old discussions on slow start or portable bad performance. There is nothing new.

To be honest my laptop with 'presets' was too slow.

When you get the new notebook you will get it with the factory settings. It is pre-installed with recovery image that includes the system operation, all necessary drivers, tools, utilities and some additional software. For example, the default installation of Windows updates is set to automatic. In other words, your system will detect the updates and install them without asking you. Can you imagine what happens with performance if updates of 10 MB will be downloaded and installed in the background without asking you? The HARD drive will be very busy and very slow laptop.

What you need is the optimization of the operating system. Remove all the unnecessary stuff from the system. Turn off all the unnecessary stuff start. Disable automatic update of windows.

Configure the preinstalled OS so that you simply use applications and background processes that you really need.

I did the same thing on my computer and it works much better than before. 5 months I've updated with SSD. Now, it goes very quickly and I can say with certainty: it was a very good investment.

  • Satellite C50D-- Changed mode of function keys - can't change it back

I have a Toshiba Satellite C50D-A, with Windows 8.1 who bought earlier this year.

Recently, my function keys mode changed somehow and I can't seem to restore. When I bought the computer that the Fn button should NOT be pressed to use the special function keys (brightness, volume, etc.), however, now I have to press the Fn button to use all the special functions and since I have yet to use the F1 - F12 keys on a regular basis, it is quite unrealistic and all simply boring.

I've already stepped into the Toshiba system settings set the keyboard special purpose and gone back and forth between the two functions several times still nothing helps.

I return all system settings by default (as special function keys were my fault) and that didn't work either.

I'm sorry is very long, but I'm at my home and I would like to solve this problem as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for all replies :)

    > now, I have to press the Fn button to use all the special functions

This means that the special function mode is disabled.
You can enable it in the BIOS or in the Toshiba System (HWSetup) settings

To access the BIOS, you will need to press F2 when starting the unit.

  • How to disable the touchpad on my Satellite C50D-B-11N click?

    Hi all

I've had my new laptop of Toshiba Satellite C50D-B-11N for a few days now and I like it a lot... However, I don't like the touchpad clicker. Is it possible to disable the function click on the touchpad he clicks on things while I m spend my finger on the touchpad and it's really annoying me seriously and there is no setting that I can find for this problem!

I looked in the settings of the mouse and touchpad and there is no setting to disable the function of the touchpad click. Can anyone help please?

    Thank you very much

To be honest this show is unknown to me and I heard him for the first time now. Usually if something must be opened, you must use option tapping.
In other words, if long, you have a permanent contact with touchpad surface nothing must be open and click option cannot be enabled.

Anyway, check it please if you can find sheets option real estate property mouse and disable it just to see if the problem persists.

  • I changed my admin.password last night and the earlier my husband did a system restore on it. now it tells me wrong password

    original title: help please!

I have windows vista on my acer aspire 5517 I changed my admin.password last night and the earlier my husband did a system restore on it. now it tells me wrong password... I don't have a dics in it plese... I need help ASAP

Next time please post in a forum of Vista. This one is for Windows 7. But since you're here:

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, all is not lost. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here] [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent asmuTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

I was trying to install Parental control. I place a second account. I went to this account on a standard account to an admin account... or so I thought. Then I changed my initial account to a standard account so I could set up parental controls for it. However, when I went to connect to what I thought, it was the new admin account, I found that he was still a standard account. Now, I have no admin account I tried to activate the hidden... Admin account but in a weird black hole of windows... I need administrator rights to do so. Then, I tried to use management tool for recovery of gateways to restore back to factory setting... but which also requires right admin I also tried to start in safe mode, but pushing F8 or SHIFT + F8 as I saw recommended does nothing. Technical support Gateway has washed their hands and said I must pay for a USB recovery... that pisses me given the PC has been in my possession for about 10 minutes! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite C50D-B-120: refresh your pc - it will delete all files

    Hello

I'm looking at a friends by Satellite C50D-B-120. It does not start. There OpenOffice files on it, but I don't know exactly where. If I try the "Refresh your PC" option troubleshooting it will delete all files?

    Thank you

    Matt

    Hi Matt

I found very interesting Toshiba technical support document in the Knowledge Base, and I think it might be useful to you.

    Windows Recovery 8 & repair
    APS2. Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm

The 'Refresh' option is primarily a repair technique. It is a good method to return your PC to a known good state while preserving your files and a large part of your configuration. With the option "Refresh your PC", accounts of users, data files and some settings are retained on your PC without the need to create a backup or make choices about what to keep or delete.

This means that the data should not be affected by using the update your PC option.

  • Satellite C50D - B - 11 X more difficult to connect to internet

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite C50D - B - 11 portable X. He was about 6 months, and had nothing but problems from day one. Really wish id increased for the next. But stuck with it now.

I have internet wifi which is very fast and reliable in my area. However as the months have passed, the laptop has gone in and out of the internet reception and is gradually degraded.

All of a sudden does not connect to internet, sometimes for a few minutes, but which a strung out to several hours sometimes now. I went on the site of toshiba and updated all my drivers etc.

And I was using aid cable directly from the internet area of sky to the portable computer, which worked a treat for a few weeks but now is doing the same thing. Internet works for a little while, then refuses to do anything. Said that there is no internet connection at all times. But there isn't...

There is absolutely no problem with the internet, im typing this on my work laptop partners that is connected via wifi and NEVER has problems with internet, works perfect contiouusly and still works 100% even if my lapop Toshiba immediately next to it has a fit of anger.

    What can I do?
    If anyone can help?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Can you confirm that the problem of internet connection is displayed using LAN and WLan connection?

Have you tried to connect this laptop to another WiFi in your area? IE test connectivity in relationship with the neighbour s WLan.

In case you have the same problem with LAN and WLan, I think only one kind of software (some of the antivirus or security settings) which is always preinstall on this laptop could cause the problem.

In my opinion, you should recover the laptop back to factory settings and should test the functionality of the laptop once more without any 3rd software installation part.

Check the internet connection by using different browsers like IE, Firefox and Chrome.

  • Loss of the battery when the Satellite C50D - off A00L

    Hello world

I was hoping that someone could help me. I recently bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite C50D - A00L that came with Windows 8 is installed.

I have trouble with the loss of the laptop battery power when it is turned off.
I had a full load and off, but when I turned it back three days later he was up to 50% of power.
I had spent it in airplane mode (I was off internet reception) to try to stop the loss of power - the case wherever he was somehow looking for information for apps.

I am all of these ideas, and I was wondering if it was something to do with my laptop or something that happens frequently with laptops in general.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello
There are some some options and settings that should be checked.
First access the BIOS by pressing the F2 key and in the BIOS settings disable the Wake Up on LAN option. In most cases disabling this setting you would help prevent losses of battery power.

Secondly I recommend that you perform a complete shutdown of Windows 8 (or Win 8.1)
The system of Windows 8 keeps Notepad by default, but it defines the hybrid unit stop mode.

Please check this document how to perform complete stop down.

    Hello

It seems really strange to me that the connection this laptop WLAN would affect the other devices that are connected to the home network wireless.

You use a WLan router common home - which provides a pool of IP addresses which are assigned automatically to each devices?

The Satellite C50D - A - 13 G was equipped with a card of WLan Atheros 802.11 b/g/n commune (chip WB335) and this module actions WLan and BT connectivity.

I recommend you to disable Bluetooth while using the WiFi network.
You can do this by going to charm bar (Win key + C)-> settings-> PC-> PC and devices-> Bluetooth settings
Here, you can move the cursor ON / OFF

Don't get me wrong, this is the last time I ever buy a Toshiba product. I used computers for two decades, and it is by far the most overvalued, backward, no device has ever been my misfortune to touch.

    I expect an immediate response.

To be honest, I don't understand what your problem is but with a good OS optimization, you can have very good machine for 'daily activities. What you have is the machine of mid range with 'an average performance' only.

Back to your question: it is unclear to me that Microsoft gives desktop for free. What you can get with your machine's Office trial version that you can use for 60 days only. Later, you must pay for the license code.

If you need free software, download 'Open office' and test.
