  I have a new Satellite C50t-A-10J that has intermittent load problems. Sometimes it charges ok sometimes it says connected does not support. When no current charging if I click on the battery icon supported starts and continues ok.

  Does anyone know of a more automatic solution? I read on similar problem solved by uninstalling and then reinstalling the Microsoft ACPI battery compatible control method in Device Manager but is reluctant to try because the computer is new.

  I can of course go back to the retailer, but thought I'd post just in case someone had a similar solution.

  I guess this isn't problem in the system.
  It seems that your battery is defective and I recommend to contact the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country to get a battery replacement.

  I have a P100-227 that works perfectly, I use a TV room at home and a laptop when I am away from home. This for 80% of the time is open with the screen almost at 90 °, so I can get a good picture of the bed. As you can probably by now it is not constantly opened and closed as laptops are obviously designed to do.

  I recently noticed cracks have begun to appear on top of the laptop around the hinges. One sees something like this before? It's less than 6 months and I'll take that back to the shop for a replacement / repair, but was wondering if there is a problem from other users have?

  And before ask you, has not been escaped, bashed with a hammer, sat or used as a tray of coffee ;-)

  I had a similar problem with my laptop and I contacted a certified maintainer Toshiba for a replacement. The guys were very friendly and the capital has been changed without additional worries.
  For me the small cracks of coverage are not a very serious problem and I have to open/close the lid with caution, but you know; It s boring so I contacted the guys and they changed the cover.

  You should do the same.

  Unfortunately, the BIOS passwords can be removed only by a Toshiba authorized service provider available in your country.
  I would recommend to get in touch with ASP in order to take the next steps.

• Satellite Pro A300D-131 - deformed casing and the hinge of the screen scratches

  Someone knows a distorted envelope around the power button, mine is triggered a good 1-2 mm.

  I also notice that the hinge of the screen between the hinge and the body is so tight that the silver effect finish scratched to bits. The laptop is only a few months and it seems decidedly tatty already, it looks like a bad case design.

  To be honest, I don't like this new design of Toshiba I would have most of the ports on the back, but this new design made by Toshiba for more stable display hinges.

  If you really think that there is a serious problem I recommend you to contact the nearest authorized service provider. They should take a look and give you advice what to do.

  The laptop was equipped with a 0.9MP Camera / Webcam HD (1280 x 720) with microphone integrated. Do not expect too much of a mega pixel webcam 0.9.

  I recently had a repair by mail to HP.  When the laptop returns, I noticed that one of the screws next to the hinge of the screen long lacked.  Talking with one of the customer service representatives, I was told that it was impossible to have a screw sent to me and I have to send the laptop back to be repaired.  You can imagine my reaction.

  I was curious to know if anyone knew a good place to screw replacement order for the laptop.  To be precise, it is a dv6-1362nr.  If you are familiar with the dv6, it is the screw in the monitor down to left (often covered by stickers).

  I found the service manual and ask HP to send me one of the screw kits.  Any thoughts are appreciated.

  My problem has been reassigned.  I was able to talk to someone new who was about to tell me the same thing until what I mentioned that the screws were covered in a kit of screws.  Now they post the kit of screws.  It seems that this solution would be a little more obvious for the customer service representative, but at least my replacement is on its way.

• Satellite Pro M30: rim around the screen is broken

  I have a problem with the screen on my M30.

  Looks like this isn't something "fix-it-yourself". You should consider contacting an ASP for the fixed machine.
  The LCD mask is cosmetic and could be left off-, but the question of the LCD (screen goes fuzzy and come back) looks like to a defective part (LCD, wiring, PCB) or a bad connection on this path.

  If you still have the warranty - go to an ASP. If this is not the case, ask for a quote.

  I didn t notice something like that on my laptop satellite but if you think that it s a really annoying issue then contact the ASP for control of the keyboard and the keyboard if necessary replacement.

• HP Envy m6: missing screw caused the hinge to be loose and cause damage to the angle of the laptop

  During regular use, the screw top-right; closest to the power plug. a missing and caused damage to the angle of the laptop.  I think that the screw may have gone inside the laptop itsself I heard a rattleing around as I move it, which did not use to be there before.  If the rattle inside is not a problem, so how do I get a new live until the problem gets worse?  I tried Home depot, but they aren't small enoguh live :-/ and best buy does not sell such a thing, that is where I bought my computer since then.

  You should replace them both while you're there.

  What is the damage that you have described? The hinges cannot fix it so bad a torn anchor points as it came out.

  As far as I know that the power button or to be more precise, the margin around the power button should be lit / lighted.

  In my opinion its not serious problem but if there s a problem for you and you are not satisfied with that, I recommend you contact the dealer to replace the unit.

  Anyone know where to find an outer cover of the big screen Satellite P20 S203?

  I broke it because I disassembled all the pc some time ago, and as I can see now that I took out the black cover around the screen. I forgot to screw the 2 screws on the hinges that make it able to open and close.   I'm not sure what cover you mean exactly, but you can get all the spare parts to an authorized service provider. On the Toshiba page, you can find a list of them.

  You must only contact them by phone, for example. Explain the situation and maybe they can send you a new cover.

  I think that this procedure is very delicate and in my opinion it s a job for a technician.
  I m don't know if you can tighten the hinges if necessary he s need to replace the old hinges

  Is it the hinges are hidden under the plastic around the screen frame.
  The LCD mask is fixed with screws I m but not quite sure how much could be three screws. They are hidden under the mask of small cushions.
  You will need to remove and the tightness of the extra mask.
  Then you can remove the LCD mask. The hinges should be visible now

  But there s more complicated as it may seem the R500 is a nice unit, and it would be a shame that you would damage the LCD screen. The LCD screen is an expensive part, and in my opinion it is worth to ask a professional for help
