  • How do I open the case of the laptop HP G60 418 CA to clean the fans

I want to open the back of my laptop to carefully clean the fans. I have very little knowledge technology and so do not know what screws to leave or take away. How can I do this and I put my laptop at any kind of risk? Is there a chance I could lose all files, programs, or settings saved?

If you don't mind not wonder, why do you need to disassemble your laptop to clean the fans.  Just get compressed air boxes and fans of spray.

As directed by your statement ""I have very little knowledge technology and therefore don't know what screws to leave or take.".  That being the case, you can lose more than just files, you could ruin the equipment among other things.  If you really want to risk it and open your laptop, let me know.

You have disconnected the display while you cleaned up the laptop?
Are you sure that the display is connected correctly?
    Check the cable?

    > The laptop shows that read the hard drive and the processor works well.
How do you know that? Flashing LED HDD?
You know, it's not easy to say what may be the problem.

You can also try testing with external monitor.

  • Can satellite C655 - I use a vacuum cleaner to clean the fans?

    Hello-

I have a Satellite C655 I bought and a year and a half ago. In recent days the fan was shot in a lot more than usual. I hear the fan or fan on the left - the quietest, one on the right is always quite calm and on.

I'm not under any big programs - that the internet or Word, but it happened on all 30 seconds or more and can sometimes slow down the computer and the little blue circle in Word 7 will begin to turn around.

I hope it's the fan should be cleaned and I have no intention to remove anything to try it myself. I use the computer for work, so I need all the time and would have to do some schedules to have a tech guy staples or Best Buy Geeks do it for me.

Can I use a vacuum cleaner on the vent below and next to remove all the dust - this would help or am I asking for trouble? Is it possible to clean the fan without pulling off the cover/keyboard?

Of course, any help is appreciated. It's my first post so if you need additional information, please let me know. Thank you very much.

Your only way to get pure is using vacuum or compressed air and blow out the dust.
If the laptop must be cleaned on professional way, it must be dismantled. It is the only way to get full access to all modules of cooling. Please this should be done by authorized only service.

In any case, try with the vacuum.

  • Satellite A100: Need guide to clean the fan

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite A100 is about 18mnths old. Recently, it started to freeze and crash in particular when using any CPU intensive process. I think that the laptop could be overheating - recently, I noticed that the fan seems to be a lot longer than it used to be.

I want to keep it simple and do not go so far as to clean the radiator or the change of grease between the CPU and the heatsink. I want to just open the case and give the Interior a clean place.

First, is it reasonable? OR should I clean the radiator, change the fat, etc.

Second, there are tips online with step by step pictures? I searched and found nothing for my specific PC.

    Thanks in advance.

You might be right! These symptoms are related mainly to an overheating problems.
Especially these behaviors could begin if the laptop is a little older and it was not cleaned before.

So first of all it of necessary to says you won't find all the instructions (photo) on the page Toshiba how to clean the fans generally this procedure must be done by a technician for laptop

However, you could make yourself using a jet of compressed air. These aerosols can be purchased from the computer or some google simply online dealers

I cleaned my fans several times and used this spray. It of very easy to use and it helps to get rid of dust and debris.

    Good bye

Where can I find documentation, how do I open up my laptop?

I despaired of m, because I don t find anything in the WWW.

    Ciao, Salvatore

Personally, I would not recommend disassemble the laptop to clean the internal cooling fans.
Such procedure is really complicated and I think that it s too risky for someone without any computer laptop disassembly experience.

But not don t worry. You can clean the cooling modules without opening Notepad.
I clean my fans for laptop with a jet of compressed air.

These dust cleaners are very useful and you can very easily remove dust using these tools.

Just google for vacuum dust or compressed air and you should find enough examples and offers online.

    Cheers mate

Not the laptop is built with a tight specs is not so easy to simply remove the fan. To access the fan requires a complete dissembly of the laptop to get to the fan.

  • Satellite Pro M10 overheating and the fan runs loud

I have a Satellite Pro M10 and when it is the fan on the power grid comes shortly after the start and makes a horrible noise - this has only started happening recently. I tried spraying compressed air (dust) to the air outlet and still have the same problem.

Other postings say to clean the fan, but I don't know how to access it. I'm worried about overheating problems I work in Africa much of the time and the laptop is subject to hot temperatures.

    Hi Hannah,

The easy way to clear the dust and debris from the cooling system is to use a vacuum cleaner hose placed on the admission air grids that are usually in the bottom of the laptop (covered by a grid). For maximum effect, I usually place a rag around the pipe to maximize the flow of air through the fans.

This causes air suction through the radiator CPU the wrong way and ensures that all debris are not pulled into the heatsink, but are removed by fans. You can see a ball of down under the grates that you need to try to clear little by little.

This technique will not void your warranty since no disassembly of the unit is necessary.

    Kind regards

Clean the fan of the laptop and repasting once a year would be nice, or if the computer is heating upward than normal.

There are a lot of application that monitors CPU and GPU temperature,

If you want to refresh the thermal paste / rebonding of your laptop, that's what we normally use

  • Pavilion dv6 - how to clean the fan

    HP Pavilion dv6-7029wm

He did two years since I bought the laptop, and I finally realized that I have to open the computer to clean the fan properly. However, my laptop doesn't have access to the cooling fan Panel - so I tried to take it apart with the help of the manual.

However, the procedure necessary to reach the fan itself is very long and complicated, as seen here:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03582006.PDF

Is there another way easier to reach the fan? I have to go through this everytime I want to clean the fan?

Also, I am stuck at the part where the keyboard should be removed. The keyboard is supposed to be difficult to remove? Because when I try to remove it, it seems as if she can bend and break.

I wish I could post pictures...

    Hello:

I never take a laptop apart to clean the fan.

    Here's what I do...

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.

Find a thin object such as a straight pin in place through the air intake fan and make sure it happens between two of the fan blades to avoid the fan turns.

Get one of these cans of compressed air to dust and spray it in the fan intake and exhaust fan a few times, I look for dust to move on the vents.

When I see more dust blowing, I consider the work completed.

Reconnect the battery and a/c adapter.

  • Satellite Pro L450D - start/stop the fan, constantly power

    Hello

I recently bought this laptop, and the fan is driving me crazy, whenever the CPU reaches 55 c, fan lights up really high for a few seconds, until the temperature goes down to 45 c, the fan turns off completely, then the cycle repeats indefinitely.

I changed the method of cooling for optimized battery and has no effect - http://jkontherun.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/toshiba-nb205-power-options.jpg?w=418&h=448

Why can't the fan stay on permanently @ 30% of the load and thus negating the need for it ramp up to 100% to each time the processor overheats.

I can't believe such a simple little question like this still exists.

As I can see for hip's maximum performance. If you use your laptop computer with the AC adapter / CC assign battery optimized too.
This will reduce the cooling fan activity.
