How to clean the fan on the Satellite A100-153

Hello

First of all, my warranty on this laptop is expires.
My laptop runs hot and that's why I want to clean my fan module.
Where can I find documentation, how do I open up my laptop?

I despaired of m, because I don t find anything in the WWW.

I hope that there is someone who can help me.

Thank you

Ciao, Salvatore

Personally, I would not recommend disassemble the laptop to clean the internal cooling fans.
Such procedure is really complicated and I think that it s too risky for someone without any computer laptop disassembly experience.

But not don t worry. You can clean the cooling modules without opening Notepad.
I clean my fans for laptop with a jet of compressed air.

These dust cleaners are very useful and you can very easily remove dust using these tools.

Just google for vacuum dust or compressed air and you should find enough examples and offers online.

Cheers mate

    Hello

ACPI-> Advanced Configuration and Power Interface
ACPI defines hardware and software interfaces that allow focus on the OS configuration and power management to enumerate and configure motherboard devices.
For example: ACPI is necessary for the standby and hibernation mode.

Now your question; the new BIOS has been updated and configured to using VISTA.
It seems that VISTA was not compatible with the previous version of BIOS because the ACPI interface. Now you can install Vista on the laptop, but it seems that you need a driver. Possibly new chipset driver version might help. But as you probably know, the drivers are not available at this time. Unfortunately

  • How to clean the Satellite L modules cooling?

    Hello

my laptop is having a few problems "breathe."
The fan is constantly strong even when I use it practically not more it turns off after about an hour when I really started to work seriously with modelling 3d or play challenging games...

I was wondering if I could lose the warranty if I clean myself and if there is somewhere on this site or the statement of web on how to do it?

    Help please!

    Hello

You will not lose warranty if you would not disassemble the laptop.
You can clean the cooling fans with a jet of compressed air.
This allows to remove dust from the fans.

  • How to set the Satellite A100-596 to factory without Recovery DVD settings

I gave my young niece of my old laptop A100-596 for Christmas.
It worked perfectly on Christmas Eve I packed it upward, in packing of origin, but at the time my niece connected on it has lost 40 GB of data among the drives C and E - everything E drive and the dvd drive had stopped working!

Now, no one has any explanation for what is happening, nor any reason why a laptop that has performed flawlessly for 18 months would suddenly lose 3/4 of the data on it, but whatever!

So now I want to restore it to factory, but without a job settings dvd, how? I have all disks involved in perfect condition!
In addition, I want to fool proof so it can be retrieved in case the person or nothing damaged, this time he cannot repeat the action.

So I think that if I partition the hard drive so that the recovery of files is accessible by me with a password, which I will NOT share with any of the children, if they bumble once again, then I will be able to recover.

Moreover, even restoring the system files have disappeared, so I can't even it roll back to a working condition!

    Any advice?

    Hello

You wrote so much and I think it's the best we descuss all questions slowly.

I don't know what you mean under non-working DVDs. Is the drive defective optical drive or media DVD is not readable?

Anyway, the fact is that if you want to have the factory again settings you must install operating system using Toshiba DVD recovery. If you don't have it you can do clean OS installation using the Microsoft DVD facilities. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities are available on the Toshiba support under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com page > support & downloads.

When you use recovery media Toshiba HARD whole disc will be erased. Absolutely everything. All data and partitions.
What you want to do with recovering data unfortunately will not work. You cannot copy the recovery image and start it from the other partitions. Not on Satellite A100.

On new A300, something like this is possible because the recovery image is stored on the second partition in folder HDDRecovery.

If you have any other questions please let us know.

Can Hi, please someone help? We have lost the disk and need to retrieve Windows on laptop Satellite A100-649.

Ilay is right; recovery for A100 disk can be more pronounced due to the age of s for laptop.

Do as described by Ilay. use a Microsoft disc to install Windows System. The drivers are available for download from the Toshiba driver page.

  • How to recover the Satellite A100 without recovery disk

    Hi all

I'm trying to restore my laptop A100 settings * without * a restore CD via pressing a sequence of buttons during startup (which must launch the recovery on the hard drive partition).

It is really unfortunate, I know it can be done as I did before butI for the life of me forgotten what was this key sequence I can't find the article I stumbled initially on!

I've scoured the web looking for this key sequence and all the proposed solutions, I fell on do not seem to work.

    Unsuccessful attempts so far:
    -Press and hold 0 power
    -various suggest 'F' keys: F1, F8, F10
    -now the delete key

Note: I guess it may be worth mentioning that pressing F8 actually take me on-screen "start options advanced windows" but I don't have any recovery options.

Yeh Yes, I'd * extremely * grateful if someone could point me in the right direction here because it makes me crazy... the fact that I've done this before, it that much worse!

As I know the A100 series has not been fitted with the recovery of HARD drive partition!
And so I doubt that any combination of keys will start the partition recovery!

So you only chance to recover the laptop is to take the recovery disk, then boot from it.
You can also try to install the disk Microsoft Windows operating system and then could install the drivers of Toshiba on the pilot site of Toshiba!

    See you soon

  • Satellite A100-153: is my 64-bit processor?

It's maybe a stupid question, but I'm not good with knowledge when it comes to material...

I have the Satellite A100-153. It is the processor of Intel Centrino Duo T2300 1.66 GHz. So I want to know is my cpu 64 or 32-bit? Also, if it is 64 bits, what are the benefits of this type of CPU?

    Thank you!

No, the generation of your Centrino has no EMT64 (64-bit). The next generation whose production began in March of this year is now 64-bit.
The new CPU´s have a similar heart as the "Core 2 Duo".

Thus, the benefits of the 64-bit are apparent, you have a wider bus which can process more data at the same time. And the treatment of the data at the same time average speed of treatment.

But there is just one little problem: the driver support for 64-bit operating systems is not very good aren´t and there are a lot of programs for us end-users that are written in 64-bit. So we have to wait until software developers and manufacturers of chips are better than now.

  • Satellite L350-24U: how to clean the keyboard after having poured orange juice

    Hello out there.
I spilled my L350-24U with Orange juice.
    Now, I have 4 keys to self-retaining :-(

Can someone tell me how to clean the keyboard without damaging the laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

Hmm, it's still a stupid situation
Usually you can remove the keyboard of the laptop very easily.
The keyboard is fixed with screws hidden under thin plastic cover near the line of F1 - F12 key.

If you would remove plastic this cover then you would be able to remove the screws as well. Then you could lift the keyboard carefully and could disconnect the flat cable of the keyboard and the motherboard.

Notes; two small latches on both sides of the connector must be moved in order to disconnect the cable.

Then you could remove the keyboard and could clean it with a damp lint.
PS: the caps can be removed too.
But be very careful. You must raise the CAP to get it for free.

There are many videos on youtube...

  • Satellite A305 - how to clean the keyboard after juice spills

    Hey guys,.

I had a the sSatellite series A305 an i could not find discussions on this exactly.
Basically whats up's had one incident minor orange juice on the left side of the keyboard thankfully not a lot of juice to all minor.
I managed to clean most on the surface. And had to work it's good enough to get out of the speaker box.

However, some of the keys are a bit of stick now, i wondered if there are techniques to withdraw safely on that I must do before I try to block these keys. Hmm pressing on enter appear... in any case...

I had one of these laptops before a few months ago, but one of the keys is broken somehow, after that, I got a little worried because I had to basically return it and get another laptop from work. If im sure it was a defective key with the last one I was not playing with keys, but I'm not sure how sustainable this is. Also this will probably also help to learn how to clean the keyboard, theres a bit of a dust and grump under the space bar which has been botherin me an i have no idea how to remove one get clean the dirt below.

I'll check this post when I wake up in the morning. If you know the techniques of hair removal good explain please, I'm not very good with directions so patient with me.

    Hello

To be honest, you will never be able to clean the keyboard. Break down the water is maybe not so bad, but the juice is sticky and can not be cleaned properly.
I'm afraid that you need a new keyboard. :(

  • Fan on the Satellite A100-225

Two years ago in may, I bought the Satellite A100-225. I have always noticed that it got very warm, but a few months ago it was not a problem. However, a few months ago, it began to overheat during execution of the tasks of joel, but I never thought much about it.

Then, one a few weeks ago I started my computer to realize that the fan was now only turns not at all, and I have no idea why. I tried to install a new update of the BIOS and check if there is any debris stuck. You can still use it, but only for short periods. However, today when I was about to stop because it was too hot, the fan went on for 3 seconds, then it turns of. He the did not once again even if I leave it at the same temperature.

I have to buy a new fan? My father and I have been looking for one that adapts, but so far we have succumbed.

Can someone offer me some advice please?

    > Should I buy a new fan? My father and I have been looking for one that adapts, but so far we have succumbed

I think you should first clean the front fan start you away from stocks
Dust and debris inside the laptop could prevent fans turn with maximum performance and this could lead to a higher temperature.

A use of the spray of compressed air could get rid of the dust and could help with this problem
But if it doesn t help you should contact the ASP in your country for assistance.
Guys could check the laptop and could eventually replace the fans.

The big problem is that the laptop disassembly procedure is very delicate and risky.
So these replacements should be made only by a technician for laptop.

    Bye and greetings

    Hi there @antonio55,

That the Forums are with you!  I understand that you are looking for advice on how to clean your screen.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Please see: HP monitors - Safety and Maintenance Guidelines, under the heading "Cleaning the monitor" for details of cleaning, but be sure to read both safety related information.  Depending on what you mean by "halos" try following the instructions for the materials to be used. If you have in the past used something on the list of cleaning products do not turn out to serve, you may have already damaged a part of the screen.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.
