Satellite C850-B519 - the hardware specification

Hello world

I used to know more details on the RAM, processor, card mother cpu - z... .etc
But when I got in the name of the motherboard it was "Type 2-Board 1 vendor name", so what?
I searched a lot about this, but I found nothing... I want to know (the FSB speed, max speed, speed of SATA RAM slot)... .and everything about.

Please let me know as soon as possible.
Thank you very much

I'm not sure that someone here can help you with this. I mean if googling around you can find some standard information. No more than that. In General, some third party software like CPU - Z is good for more information about the hardware.

Out of curiosity, but why must you all this? You want to improve something? RAM or HARD drive maybe?

I have Satellite C850-B519 and I wonder if "Predator of Kingston DDR3 1866 MHz CL10 Intel XMP DIMM" is compatible with my device or not?

    Hello

According to specifications specification your laptop work with DDR3 RAM modules (1,600 MHz).
    Compatible modules are:
    4 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M8G

I checked Kingston page and was not able to find your laptop model it.

  • Satellite C850 - remove the functionality of the FN keys

    Hello

I have a laptop C850 who has defined as default for some operations, function keys like brightness, sound, enable and disable the touchpad with the * F1 *-* F12 * keys accessible together with the * key to FN.

I can understand why this has been done because the majority of people use no * F1 *-* F12 *.
I do however as a developer.

It's annoying to need to support on * FN * + * F5 * to reload a Web page for example, when I was using just * F5 * during the past 15 years or so, especially as * F5 * on its own turns off the touchpad, or who need to support on * FN * + * Alt * + * F4 * to kill an application instead of just * Alt * + * F4 *.

Is it possible to remove the feature "extended" of these keys and return to the standard * F1 *-* F12 *?

I can unsintall an application or a service that deals with this, or perhaps there is a setting somewhere (I had a quick glance, but can't find it).

    I appreciate there are other solutions, for example * Ctrl * + * R * to reload instead of * F5 *, but that's not what I'm looking for.

    Thanks in advance.

Toshiba has developed maps flash utility to facilitate the use of some basic stuff. It works with the FN key combination. If you n key press FN t, you can use a standard feature of Fkeys.

When you want to reload the page, you can press F5 only and don touch need FN t at all so I put t understand why don't you write all the time on the FN keys combination.
    >... I have been using just F5 during the last 15 years or so, especially if like F5 on its own turns off the touchpad, or needing to press FNAltF4 to kill an application rather than simply AltF4.
It is not truth. You can just press ALT + F4 and you can close some applications. FN, you must use when you only use additional options (specific Toshiba). It is clearly described in the document s user manuals.

If you n t as you can remove the utility Flash cards. It is a part of the VAP (value added package).

  • 'You do not have permissions for this item' - the HARDWARE SPECIFICATION

    Dear members,

I'm trying to access a material specification, but I am constantly presented with the following message: ""you do not have permissions for this item.

Curiously, I could already access specifications but now I am presented with this.

I have the same problem with the profiles of LIO.

Does anyone have a known solution for this?

    Kind regards

This happens usually when you do not have read permission according to the State of the workflow of the specification. Different permissions can be set up for different status in the Administration of the WFA (WorkFlow).

In addition, if you use business units as a safety feature (rather than just BU visibility), you might get this message. In this case, you should not be able to see this specification in a search result, though, so if you see in the results of material technical search page, is not a DRINK problem, it's a workflow issue permission to read.

There is an additional possibility, that is if your team has put in place the extensibility point of SpecVetoHandler, which allows for personalized reading permission checks added. It is a technical extensibility point configured in the config file CustomPluginExtensions.xml.

But more likely, it's a workflow permissions problem. You should ask your users to s Adminitrator of workflow.

  • Satellite A50: Need the detailed specifications of the screen and DVD - RW

    Hello

One of my friends had their murdered A50.
It suffered a blow hard with blunt when closed, which broke the screen and totally destroyed the hard drive.

This is probably beyond economic repair. However, I had a go at laptops before repair (mainly the Apple iBook - these have tiny parts and are quite difficult to maintain - the Toshiba looks easy).

    I have two questions-

First, I removed the HARD drive and hooked it to an external monitor. The wireless appears to work, the charges of the battery and the system boots to the BIOS. I took the hard drive and it is writing off the coast, the data has been saved.

However, I can't get the DVD player to eject. I opened it with a paper clip, and it opens and closes fine manually. There don't seem to be getting no power anyway. Is this normal? It does not seem to have taken no external damage, it is easy to take the coverage of the case and take a look at the connectors.

Second, the screen is broken (just the glass, the rest of the top of the page looks very well). Anyone know what is the model of screen used in the A50? In addition, a source for this bit second hand would be great - pointers? (if this is allowed in the forum?)

    See you soon,.

    Hello

In my opinion the best way to order parts is to contact Toshiba service partner because it has detailed information on compatible parts. In addition, sometimes laptops come with different screens and if you want to be 100% sure what part is supported so ask the ASP.
However I found this site with a screen for an A50:
    http://www.screentekinc.com/Toshiba__Satellite__A50--14.1_lcd_screen--(1024_x_768) _XGA.html

Well well about by car: in my opinion, the drive is broken and it should also be replaced.

    Good bye

On this virtual path that it is not possible to provide accurate diagnosis, and to say with certainty what the problem is here, but if the warranty is valid contact Toshiba service as close as soon as possible and ask for help.

    They have to fix.
Unfortunately, this kind of problems, your possibilities are quite limited.

  • ACCURATE for PSU DV6258se hardware specification

I recently came to own an opportunity with a grilled motherboad Pavilion DV6258se. I'm fine with the replacement of the motherboard I not know the part number for it, but I need a power adapter. I need to know the hardware specifications for the adapter, including the size of the CAP, type, volts, amps, watts, EVERYTHING. • Satellite C850-1E7 - what SSD can I use for the upgrade?

    Hi all

I am looking for one SSD hard drive.
Problem is the documentation does not specify whether the system is Sata 3 GB or 6 GB.
I understand that if I buy a 6 GB SSD and the system supports only 3 GB, there is work, but I would rather try to localize "cheaper" 3 Gb SSD if the system supports up to that speed.

Look under the hood, the current HARD drive is a SATA 3 Gb.
    Any of you know?

    Satellite C850-1E7 (serial: YC325575R)

    Thanks for any help.
    See you soon
    Chris

    Hello

You could easily find what SATA controller not Satellite C850-1E7 support.
Different hardware diagnostic tools she will provide you with details.
I recommend you to install and test software like Sisoft SANDRA or Everest Home Edition.
Both will provide the device properties built in Notepad.

But I think that the device supports the SATA II (300Mbit/s) controller.

    > I understand that if I buy a 6 GB SSD and the system supports only 3 GB work remains
Yes, it's okay because the SATA controller is compatible to the bottom

  • White screen on startup of the satellite C850

I bought a Toshiba Satellite C850 PSCBWA-05E001 so 18 months out of warranty now.
I bought it for a few friends, I gave him to who are in the Philippines, so it is difficult for me to check and repair. My friends lack the funds to get it checked if any help would be appreciated.

Some days he started to initiate a white screen. You can see the mouse, but that's all. They are unable to get the computer display anything. I read on several forums that it could be a video cable however I got them to hooked to an external monitor to work through the laptop's VGA output & restarted the laptop & the external monitor goes to white screen which are also seems to exclude a faulty video cable as this would affect the monitor to the laptop only I think.

I'm concerned that does not the video card is a graphics chip of integregrated I guess that means to replace the whole motherboard I guess.

Very disappointed for my friends since the machine is just out of warranty.
    Someone at - it ideas?

    > I am afraid that does not the video card is a graphics chip of integregrated I guess that means to replace the whole motherboard I guess.

Yes, I have fear of the motherboard must be replaced in case of malfunction of the graphics card of m.
It would be the worst cases because the new motherboard is very expensive and in most cases it s not worth buying a new motherboard if isn t valid warranty more.

I have no many solutions for you; It looks like a hardware problem and to resolve this problem, replace the defective part. But of course, it of a just a question of money :(

  • Power to the Satellite C850-1 kN problem

    Dear friends,

I'm Belgian and I received a call a few weeks ago desperate to an English friend (she's a student).
His laptop computer Toshiba Satellite C850-1 kN 15 months old did not illuminate. No sign of life anymoe...

Much to my surprise the standard warranty period is only 1 year in England (in Belgium and in many European countries, it is 2 years).
And of course that she should have taken an extended warranty, I would have told him (and now she realizes that too of course).

So she send it to me...

For the problem itself, I tied each thing on feeding issues (power reset by pressing the powerbutton for a minute, replacing the power brick, etc., etc., I even checked the current arriving on the motherboard, and it's ok...).

What surprises me is that I find so many references to power with Toshibas (and very little real solutions...) problems.

My friend treats his laptop very well, it looks brand new, I find such a pity to throw the laptop (even for ecological reasons).

A portable well-treated should operate for 4-5 years, at least..., and a decent society should not allow to happen, not even out of warranty (at least not after 15 months).

As you know that these laptops are not cheap (especially for a student...)

Can someone give me some advice (on the warranty or any technical suggestion...).

Thank you very much for your support (and for reading this!).

    Kind regards
    William

    Hello

Obviously some serious hardware problem has occurred, and from my point of view of a few any material part could cause this problem.
I guess that the parts as modules of memory, motherboard so that the CPU may be affected, I assume that it is not possible to say what s wrong here without touching the laptop.

My laptop did lights not because one of the slots on the motherboard was faulty.
After that I removed one of the modules, the unit may be turned on.

One of my friends could not use the laptop because of the failure of memory. Two modules are dead at the same time the two parts have been replaced and unit still works so far

As you can see, the material can start to malfunction it is nothing unusual in the world of large computing
So what I will say; I think laptop engineer should check the hardware parts after you can decide whether you want to repair

  • Satellite C850-b71 - how to get the product key of Windows 8?

    Hello

I have my computer toshiba laptop Satellite C850-b718 and there win 8, but unfortunately the hard drive no longer works.

IM wondering if there is a way to get the key to the victory 8 from here or any where using the model laptop or something
If I can use it on the new hard drive.

    Thank you

    Hello

Toshiba does not any serial key for activation of the system.
In most cases, computers laptop Toshiba are preinstalled with Windows that is already activated system or activation would be done during the first internet connection.

I suppose that you did create recovery media that would allow you to recover the laptop to factory condition. This recovery disc (medium) could be created using the preinstalled software Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.
It s always advisable to create this media because the HARD drive may begin to malfunction and in this case, it is not possible to perform HARD drive recovery procedure.

In any case, to cut the long story short. the recovery disc can be ordered here:

  • Satellite C850-B734 - need to know how to go about the windows recovery

    I have a SATELLITE C850-B734

I have some problems with my laptop recently and need to reinstall windows

with my laptop brief, I was able to go into recovery mode where I can reinstall windows or repair only and it take me for an Assistant where I can change my reader sive and numbers etc...
Inorder to access this wizard I had to Press f4 key at startup of device but tried with my toshiba satalite c850 I do not think the wizard

for your information I have windows 8.1 and have all my HARD drive in one partition and want to add more partitions when I reinstall windows
I looked in the settings to find that I can reinstall windows, but seems this isn't a recovery... because all the drivers and toshiba applications will be lost in the process and the Assistant told me that I have to manually reinstall if I have CDs for them that I don't have and don't want to go to the online search for drivers and stuff like that There must be an Assistant where I can reinstall windows and drivers for my device without much effort

    help will be appreciated... thx

If you have not created some recovery discs/media in the past and that recovery of HARD drive option (link posted by Liam) does not work, then you have no other options except for the command the drive recovery from here:

  • A few questions regarding the hardware upgrade and the games on Satellite Pro 2100

    Hey,.

I thought that posting this here because it's more about the lines for the games I could think on another topic.

I'll get to the point... Basically, I bought a laptop from a guy that my friend knew. He barely used this laptop and didn't know anything about computers, and he tried to avoid as much as possible. So he got rid of this laptop for me for real cheap.

Now I got it, I had expected either of two things with the laptop.

    (1) what I'll use it so I can sit in his bed and travel a little bit while having files, movies, music and internet access. (it wasn't my main idea)

    Or

    (2) it allows to play video games on it, or to update, so I have a better chance to do so.

I was hoping to get for video games, mainly for my brother to use because his computer is lagging a lot while playing world of Warcraft. I was hoping that this notebook would give him a better experience for a while.

But as I was installing the game on this, I noticed that the disk space is low, so I'm going to buy an external hard drive, so I can send files between the PC and the laptop, and I got an error message saying that the RAM was under "minimum requirements" for WoW.

So I know that I got to level it with something big, but I know not what, so I'm not quite sure that this laptop will run the game at a decent rate. So I thought that I turn to a computer forum and ask.

    It's my laptop;
    [Satellite Pro 2100 PS210E | http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&BV_UseBVCook = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 45659 ie]

This laptop will do the job don't you think?
Or it will be better for simpler things, or less if I had the ram to 1gig?

I don't know much on the laptop, and I'm not really willing to spend too much on fixing, if it's just a change of the ram, then it wouldn't cost much for than to upgrade around 1gig.

    Hello

First of all, I must say that this notebook belongs to an older series laptop.
It was equipped with the 1.8 Celeron CPU, 256 MB RAM, 20 GB or 30 GB HARD drive and a 16MB graphics card internal.

What you can do is upgrade the RAM up to 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) and the HARD drive. But I think that the maximum size of HARD drive that would be recognized by the BIOS is 120 GB.
I think that the laptop supports one IDE controller and it limited because of the 28-bit LBA HARD drive size.

So finally, it is important to mention that you can not pass the graphics card because it s soldered onto the motherboard. Upgrading the CPU is not possible or very difficult.

I come to the conclusion that you will not be able to play games of new generation on this machine. The hardware specs are maybe too low a few simple games would run on this laptop but I'm sure that other newer games will not run smoothly.

    Welcome them
