  • Cannot Flash the BIOS on Satellite L500 due to low battery

    Hey all,.

Obtained as Satellite L500 (PSLS0A-084002) here. I have the battery not charging issue and everything what I find point to an update of the BIOS.

Of course, there is a new BIOS for download from the drivers of laptops. So I have the file WinPhlash "sl500 (mv) _bios_w210.exe. However, by running the fact falling before flashing the BIOS with an error number: 144.

It is because of the battery is bellow 10% charge however I can't it above 10 percent fee that the laptop does not recognize it.

There must be a way of to WinPhlash running without check. I read that you can run it with the "/ forceit" switch and who will be ignoring the error, but that was for some time and it seems WinPhlash have changed this as she always spits the error.

I read running back help but after creating a boot cd back, he claims the exe cannot be run from BACK (ffffuuuuuuuu!).

Any help appreciated. Thank you =).

Maybe it sounds silly now but there at - it something serious, why you want to update the BIOS on your machine? I mean if everything is OK, why do you need new BIOS?

In any case, I'm don't know if this will help but please try to remove the battery and check if the update of the BIOS starts if your laptop works on AC only.

  • Satellite L40-139 - possible to disable the low battery alarm?

I have a Toshiba Satellite L40-139 it comes with Windows Vista running. I think the battery is now a little age, because it does not load when the computer is plugged in - although the computer itself is capable of functioning when it is plugged in, which is how I use it.

Battery sank to about 10%. For this reason, the computer will sound low-battery-warning beep every fifteen seconds or more. This seems to come from the computer itself and not the operating system, it sounds different from low battery alerts in Control Panel > sounds.

I would like to disable this beep - it is not to tell me anything I don't already know. Until now, the only way to achieve this, I have found is by inhibition of the laptop altogether. But is not ideal, because it means that I can't use any other sound feature on the computer.

I tried, without success, changing the settings in the control panel > power settings, including lower low and critical battery levels and fix warnings for low battery to "off".

    Any ideas?

    Hello

    Please check the BIOS settings.
To access the BIOS F2 press Mobile start upward.
There should be an option called something like low battery alarm
Remember to save the changes before exiting the BIOS.

  • Re: Satellite C855-155 - AMD Radeon HD 7610 display driver does not work

    Hello

My laptop Toshiba Satellite C855-155 2 years, used to run the display driver AMD Radeon HD 7610 (V8.932.5.3000 January 20, 2012). Suddenly, it no longer works. Login screen looks scrambled. I can only start the laptop with the Standard VGA driver but the screen resolution is 1024 x 768 (not the 1366 x 768 normal) and no screen dimming, automatic off tension or sleep/hibernate functions is not working either.

What do you recommend? Is it a hardware failure?
    Thank you in advance,
    Seçkin

    Hello

Have you tried to reinstall the display driver?
    > What do you recommend? Is it a hardware failure?
Best test you can do is to back up all your important data and reinstall original recovery image and test your machine with the factory settings. If the problem persists it may be hardware related issue.

  • Satellite C855 - low RTC battery

Bought a brand new Satellite C855 7 months, now get a RTC battery low warning, every time I start, have to reset the date and time. The laptop battery says fully charged, but if I unplug the portable charger will turn off.

    > The laptop battery says fully charged, but if I unplug the portable charger will turn off.

This means that the main battery is empty and is probably damaged.
Empty main battery would affect the RTC battery too. So I think that you need to replace the main battery first and then the RTC battery for a longer period of time while the mobile computer is turned on.

The laptop seems to be covered by the warranty (if its 7 months) so the battery must be replaced in warranty conditions.

  • Suddenly, satellite L750 going to sleep - low battery?

    Hi guys,.

I just want to ask why is that when I'm playing games like Assassins Creed/DMC.
Sometimes my phone will shut down. The indicator lights on the left side were:

    A/c power: white Uni

    Power: Flashing Orange

    Battery: Flashing orange and

And when I try to turn it on, it turns even if I press the power button.

Furthermore, I always remove the battery.
I could only turn on when I unplug the charger and plug it in again.
Sometimes I can play for hours and it only happens when I play games.

    Model: SAtellite L750-1EZ

    Hello

    First clarify you something:
The laptop goes to fashion 'sleep' or he just stopped automatically?

    Now something about the indicators:

    _DC/LED (first left) _
This lights normally white when properly power adapter.
If the output voltage of the AC adapter is abnormal or if power outages, this LED is flashing ornage/amber

_AC power LED: (2nd left) _
It normally turns white when the computer is turned on.
If you turn off the computer in Standby Mode, the LED flashes orange about one second on, two off dry. Once when the system shuts down and while it remains off

    _Battery LED (3rd left): _
This indicator shows the State of charge of battery and white indicates that the battery is fully charged. Orange indicates the battery is charging and orange blinking indicates a low battery charge level.

    Troubleshooting _Now: _
If the computer turns off and DC IN indicator flashes orange/orange could be linked to the high temperature of the CPU: overheating.
This can happen due to games because the laptop s CPU running performance
and produce a high heat dissipation.
This can happen because the cooling modules are timed by the dust.

Here is an instruction how to clean the unit:

  • Satellite C855-1GQ: battery not: the adapter is connected

    Hello

This is my first post here, I hope that someone can help me!
    I have a Toshiba Satellite C855 portable 1GQ.

So, basically, I managed to break the end of the original charger (the part that plugs into the laptop) and stupidly tried a charger of similar connection to another device that has a yield lower than the Toshiba

However when I plugged it it killed inside the laptop as well as the adapter battery (it was an old anyway). I have a new battery and a new charger adapter, but the battery won't charge.

When I put the battery it worked fine for the laptop itself is not broken, the laptop says it's connected and charge but it loses all power until the battery is flat.

The new charger adapter doesn't seem to work despite the fact that he tells me that it is with a pile of work. The specifications for the new card are the same as the original (I got a cheapish of ebay).

Is there a fuse inside the laptop to be replaced when I foolishly used the adapter that I should not have? I have read many possible solutions on it but none seems to be specific to my problem. Perhaps the new adapter is not good enough?

As I said, the new battery worked fine until it ran out of power, so the charger or something on the cell load.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    See you soon,.
    Chris D.

    > Is there a fuse inside the laptop to be replaced when I foolishly used the adapter that I should not have?

The use of false and not compatible adapter may damage the laptop's hardware (motherboard could be affected)
Very important is the fact that the original AC adapter supports the 19V (v) output voltage and
    Output current 3. 42 a (Ampere).

Use of the power adapter with different output voltage (not 19V) would affect the material.
The use of the AC adapter with 19V voltage output, but different ampere value should not affect the material.

    (Value) of lower intensity< 3a)="" might="" not="" be="" good="" enough="" for="" battery="">
But where the power adapter is compatible, I would test battery certainly another, new, fully compatible.
