Satellite L - small green dot on the screen

I just started my new computer and on starting the loading screen (black screen), there seems to be a small (possibly green) point that is at the top of my screen and noticeable only when the screen is black.

It will become more serious and is what I can do to change or is this something I need to worry? I would like to know as soon as possible, as if I need to send my computer back, that I'd rather not do something more about it.

Thank you

Zoe

Hello

I think you mean a defective pixel. Is this good?

These bad pixels are pixels on a screen LCD does not work as expected. This can happen on all LCD s and there are different pixel fault classes.

LCD has millions of pixels and if you have a single defective pixel, everything is ok. On my Satellite L300, I also have a defective pixel but I see that if the screen is black. T, you can return or Exchange the laptop with a defective pixel only.

Here's an interesting document:

  • Why is there a small black dot on my screen?

I bought a Macbook Pro 13 "with Retina display (2015) one week before and today while browsing in Safari, I noticed a small black dot on the screen." The point has been made on this spot on the Web site, it is not set on my screen. Once I have to zoom, or refresh the page several times or even scroll to the bottom of the page, point disappears. I opened a blog more on the same site, and I found another point identical. Once more, it seems not be it resolved in the screen, it is instead made to this position of the screen.

I opened a few several other Web sites and pages with a white background, I did not see the dot appear. I'm uploading a picture so that you can see the guys. Someone had this problem? I know that it is nothing, but I can't take it anymore and I need an explanation any. Thanks for your help. Here is the image:

I have not encountered this problem.

  • Qosmio F30-112 - small strips and dots on the screen

    Hello

    I need help, my laptop (Qosmio F30 - 112) have a problem.
When I started it scratch on the screen and flashes.
Then if I try to reboot it works, but not normal; still have a small scratches and dots on the screen.
I checked it on the Device Manager NVIDIA GForce with a yellow mark.
I tried to uninstall it but nothings happened.

Please some body help me what to do in this case?

And if you have to replace the VGA CARD, is it possible to upgrade? and what (NVIDIAGforce) parts are compatible for my laptop (RAM memory upgraded 4 GB 320 GB hard drive and windows 7 Home premium)

    Thank you
    rtmasagca

    Hello

Have you tried to install or update the display driver?
Please check this because the yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager may mean that the display driver is missing and so the graphics card does not work properly.

Otherwise, it could be a GPU problem.
This can be tested easily; connect an external monitor and check if the same stripes, points would be visible on the monitor that is eternal.

If Yes, then it s certainly a GPU problem.
In this case, only the replacement of the motherboard might help.
    Also, upgrade is not possible.

  • Green dot on the homepage next to the magnifying glass

    Hello world

I hope you can answer my question, which has been bothering me for quite a long time.

I checked the internet to find answers several times, but without a bit of luck.

On my iPhone of 6 home page, there is a green dot above the magnifying glass, what it means?

The point is present on my two home screens. I looked at other iPhones to people who do not have a green dot.

Check the image to see for yourself.

    Thank you in advance,

I am looking forward to hear from you.

    Hello, m.eklund93

Your friends have the same apps running as you?   If this isn't the case, it would explain the absence on their phones.

I noticed that the Green is the same shade as your 'telepfon' and Beskeder icons.   This could indicate that they are in operation. ?

  • Satellite A75: Permanent vertical line on the screen

I had a Satellite A75 for about 1 1/2 years and a few weeks ago a thin line from top to bottom on the screen. The line appears as soon as the power comes on and is constantly when the computer is turned on. The color of the line depends on what should be the color of the screen. If the screen should be black, the line is green and if the screen should be white, the line is light purple. And all the rest.

I think it's probably something wrong with the screen itself or the graphics card. Does anyone have ideas on how to determine the cause of the line and what it would take to fix it?

    Jon

    HI jon,

The normal test to identify this type of aberration of the display is to connect an external monitor to the laptop. Then if the problem also appears on the external monitor, it's a fault with the graphics card. If the problem does not appear while the fault lies with the LCD display itself.

My personal feeling is that the LCD is likely to be at fault, but any authorized service center would be able to test this for you.

    Kind regards

What does the green dot of the battery?

This means that the player has Rhapsody tracks on it, and the status of the subscription is currently correct. You will need to connect to your PC at least once every 30 days to keep the validated tracks.

  • Satellite A100-683: small lines running through the screen

    Hello

I bought my Toshiba A100-683 for a month.
The problem is that I sometimes see small grayish lines that passes through the LCD from the top to the bottom.
This is are the type of lines u see also when you use your camera (phone) to make a film of a monitor / lcd screen.

I still see them and seem to appear randomly.

I updated my video card drivers, but this does not solve the problem.

Is anyone familiar with this problem? Or knows a solution for this before I send it for repair.

    FEATURES OF THE LAPTOP:
    Date 10/14/2006 12:00:44

    Modelname Satellite A100
    Onderdeelnummer PSAA9E

    Greetings from Holland,

    Gaston

    Hello

It's not very easy to say why these small lines are through the LCD.
To tell a truth, I can't imagine these lines. I've never seen this show.

However, try to update the BIOS. There should be new BIOS available that solves the problem with the blurry background on A100.

Note: Make sure that you use the BIOS and the BIOS correct procedure.

  • Satellite A660-O7R 3D - tasks Greens/smear on the screen

I've updated all the drivers and software to enable the 3D vision following the instructions on the support pages. Recently, I noticed when using windows media center, corel winDVD and starcraft 2 that there is a lot of green spots scattered around the screen. It's worse in media center, watching TV or if I'm in the menu there is green/purple smears that are all along the contours of background graphics.

in this move with the video, they are all along the outlines of people or objects while this mode TV, I'm in the menu of windows media center, and then they lie along the edges of those moving graphics. They seem to be frozen if I disable all animations. I tried reinstalling the drivers nvidia on the support pages, but it made it worse that the green spots began to appear on the wallpaper, and in microsoft office programs as well.

So I ended up doing a system to a restore point a full month back... it worked fine for an hour after that, but the same places and tasks began to appear again. the problem that I've seen so far is seen gradual rather than sudden. all 3 software I mentioned earlier are the only programs I have what 3D support and also used very often

Please can someone help? I love this machine, really looking forward to having to go back to the shop

    Hello

    > So I ended up doing a system to a restore point a full month back... it worked fine for an hour after that, but the same places and tasks began to appear again.

So he looks at it s more linked to the software with respect to the hardware problem, but of course, it could be related to the graphics card as well. So nothing is impossible, you know

Have you noticed that only by using the 3D feature?

If yes then the graphics card driver can cause this and as you say the use of the driver of nvidia page is worse then perhaps it s driver problem

But to be honest I didn t found similar problems in the forum so it's really hard to tell what could cause this.

  • Satellite P105-S9722 - small dark spot on the screen

    Hello

A few days there is a 1 cm x 2 cm and a few small black/transparent stained areas appeared on my screen (17 inch WXGA TrueBrite). It's the visibility varies depending on the angle of the lid and disappears almost when it's 90 degrees or if I look at the top (it turns slightly whitish).

I wonder if anyone had the same problem or knows what it is caused by. My laptop is still under warranty (6 months). I don't remember that the screen has been pressed or anything.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Hello

If you encounter these problems/errors and you still have warranty then the only choice would be (in my humble OPINION for me :)) for sending the machine to the ASP for a hardwarecheckup.
Use your warranty rather than wait until your machine drops the line ;)

Here´s a link to an index of ASP to find the next (and closest) authorized service partner.

  • Satellite Pro 2100 two cables behind the screen

Hi, first post so be gentle with me please.

I have a Satellite Pro Satellite Pro 2100 and the hinges are shot, so I bought a 2100 piece to Exchange.
Everything was ok except that I have two sons that I can't find a place to plug in. A black white and they are attached to the small square gold Ribbons that are glued to each top corner at the back of the screen. The other ends have little, but when I stripped the laptop they were in bulk and I do not see where they are going.

However, the laptop works fine without them.
    Can anyone help please?

All laptops with WLAN have this. WLAN antenna is placed behind the screen and these two wires must be connected to the WLAN antenna.

If your laptop doesn't have WLAN card put just the cables aside and everything will be OK.

  • Satellite A300 - turn is not on, the screen remains black

I have a laptop Satellite A300. I tried to turn it on when I got home from work and the screen remains blank. The bottom (plug, power and battery lights) turns on but the screen remains black.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

It of hard to say what's going wrong here, but maybe it s just a small issue that could be solved easily.
    Try this;
Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter.
A few hours and reconnect the two parts.
I had this problem in the past and leave the laptop disconnected during the night.
The next day, I connected battery and adapter A\c and the laptop worked again

Maybe this will help you too

  • Finally two updates slightly incompatible with Windows 8.1, appearance of flicker black dots on the screen?

I would say that this last two updates. latest Firefox version 32.0 have a compatibility issue with Windows 8.1.
My laptop newly bought worked fine with Firefox until recently. About two to three days before, during the navigation. blackheads should blink on the screen. At first, I figured well problem of pixel, but after testing the same sites with IE 11, these black glitter points seemed not at all. I tested it with chrome and no points.
These black spots have not appeared before on Firefox, only recently. Unfortunately, I'm very uncomfortable with the use of Firefox that I had been using this browser since 2005, but this compatibility issue makes it difficult, cause flickering points can be annoying.

What you describe was reported before and it is almost always bound by graphics drivers. Firefox will (by default) use hardware acceleration to help speed up the rendering etc. On some graphics cards/driver combinations (most with Intel video) people reported black dots. Disabling the hardware acceleration option usually clears this up.

    Does look like this: https://bug913419.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=831738

    Some other threads for reference:
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/974717
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/856277

It is not limited to Win8.1 - were reported on both Linux and workaround there is to change the method of hardware acceleration... until the Intel video driver has been updated.

  • No Satellite Pro 6100 no response from the screen

    Can anyone help?

My 6100 Pro Satellite lit last night then automatically went into hibernation, despite being connected. Now when I turn it on there is no response from the screen, but if I plug a monitor to the laptop, the screen works (as long as I start in safe mode)

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Simon

Disconnect all cables from the laptop and remove the battery.
Wait a moment more (20 min) and reconnect the battery and the AC adapter.
Then check if the laptop turns on and if the display works fine

    Good luck

  • Satellite M70-339 vertical lines on the screen

    Hello...

I have a Satellite M70-339, which will show only the vertical lines on the screen.
I connected an external monitor and booted in safe mode.
    I uninstalled the display drivers.
I started to monitor and reinstalled the display drivers.
The computer will now boot up screen.

I put the display to indicate to both monitor and screen.

    On the monitor, all right.
On the screen, I get vertical lines color, similar to a wallpaper (wallpaper is not pretty).

Did anyone has got any ideas what could be the problem, or how to diagnose the problem
    Any help would be appreciated.

    John C

If everything is OK on the external monitor that is the best evidence that this problem is related to the internal LCD. Display must be exchanged.
