Satellite L30 - 11 d - after charging battery, it is said that 8% remaining

Hello

I have Satellite L30 - 11 d and the battery will be cooler. Laptop works when the power adapter is connected. When the AC adapter is plugged in the battery icon seems to be charged and the led will turn orange and green then as if the laptop has finished loading.
However once the AC adapter is removed he says only 8% remaining and will stop in 5 minutes.

I just bought a new AC adapter, and I updated my BIOS. Very confused on how to solve this problem, any advice will be very useful.

Thank you

Hi TL30,.

In my view, this problem is only related to the battery and it should be replaced. A block can only be recharged about 500 times and after that, replace it because it can t be charged to 100% more.
It has nothing to do with the adapter BIOS or sector

Contact a service provider allowed in your country, or you are looking for online shops where you can buy a compatible battery. On your current battery, you will find a part number where you can ask Google to do this.

  • Satellite L300D begins only after the battery has been drained and recharged

I have a satellite L300D that has a problem at startup. Last week, it closed but got stuck on the "Disconnect" screen for a long time. Finally I manually turn it off by holding down the power button. Don't think no more of him it happened sometimes with my computers. However, when I went to turn it back on - it was nothing. Power lights came to the front of the computer, but not to screen at all. Could not even access the BIOS. Nothing. It was like that for several days.

Tried all the common solutions - removed battery, disconnect the power supply and press the power button - still nothing. Tried w/o - just AC, just the battery. Even stripped down to the motherboard to see if I could remove the CMOS battery and reset the CMOS but it is soldered on the motherboard. Put all back together, still nothing.

Finally, I had to recharge my cell phone using a USB adapter and given that the computer had power I tried the usb port and it worked (for example, I could charge the phone - still no screen on the computer). The computer's battery is dead and I plugged it in. That evening, after the battery was full, I tried the computer and it has perfectly worked. Started correctly, shut it down, restarted and it was fine. Unplugged this night there and reconnected again in the morning and... nothing. Just a black screen. No BIOS.

Killed the battery again then reloaded and now my computer is working again.

Any ideas on what could cause this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

In my opinion her only the only one you can is update the BIOS like Akuma suggested. This problem is not related software so that s the only option you have I think. You can download the latest version of the BIOS here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If this is not the case, contact an authorized service provider please. Guys can fix all this hardware related problems can diagnose this problem. Maybe the motherboard or something else must be exchanged.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite L30-115 returns after hibernation too early

    Satellite L30-115.
The lid switch opens even slight movements (with the lid closed). What makes my book out of hibernation.

Energy saver, I put to enter the Hibernate when I press the power button and do nothing when I close the lid. So I expect to do nothing when I opened the lid, too.
The laptop still exists, after hibernation.

Is this a bug in the BIOS, normal behavior, is there a place to put not to resume when I open the lid? BIOS and energy savings are updated recently.

    Thank you
    Dan

When the lid is closed the small switch will activate and laptop knows what lid are closed. Light moves this contact will be interruption and laptop think the lid is open. Because of this, your mobile PC wakes up from hibernation mode.

A few minutes ago I tested how reacts a Satellite phone and also my new Vista preinstalled Satellite P200D preinstalled old WXP. I did the same settings that you are, and the result is the same. After the opening of the notebooks of the lid to wake up from hibernation mode.

    Hello

I downgrade my Satellite L30-10T from Vista to XP Pro SP3 and I installed all the drivers, but I have some problems:

All control systems are very very slow, is not possible to switch-off order XP, install new programs is slow...

    Hello

You have yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager?

On the Toshiba site I founded an installation instructions document. Did you follow this order of installation for all drivers and tools?

Also please check if Device Manager you have enabled DMA mode for the primary and secondary IDE controller.

    Hey

I completely agree with Akuma. I noticed on my laptop and after turning off these features, the battery doesn't fall so much more. :)

I'm very happy because I t need these features, but I can save battery power.

We went on the Toshiba site and followed the instructions using the software, they have provided, we started upgrading the L30 - 10 locked up and sat there for the night, now he's dead.
I have been informed that he needs a new motherboard and I find it hard to believe that it may be that the BIOS that has lost its data.

Can anyone help, we have been quoted £300 to fix?

    Hello

    You can try this workaround:
Remove the AC adapter and the battery and wait an hour. After that reconnect the adapter AC/DC and battery. Try to start the laptop and see what happens.

If it doesn t work you need assistance from an authorized service provider. Technicians can try to reflash the ROM module and in the worst cases, the motherboard needs to be replaced.

Sorry but there is no other solution for a BIOS update has failed. :(

  • Satellite L30 - frequent BSoD after upgrade of RAM.

This problem is almost identical to [this post | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=144540𣒜], but given that the response was too general and did not help, I want to provide more details about my problem and hope for a better answer.

My L35 (i.e. American L30) came with Vista Home Basic and only 512M of RAM. It was slow, but smooth otherwise. The problems started after I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB occasionally a BSoD will appear, and the computer restarts after a second or two.
Most of the time, instances of BSoD are not taken at random; usually, it happens when you watch a film or multimedia and online during the wake her up after suspend.
Also, it happens much more frequently if an external monitor is attached. He does, connect an external monitor and watch a movie will result in BSoD with 100% certainty. My laptop has shared video memory, maybe it's a question here.

The problem prevailed after that I installed Windows 7.
Memtest86 + showed no problems with my memory
Memtest86 covers all aspects of the use of the RAM?

Is it possible that some problems may be overlooked by memtest86?
Are there other tests of memory, that I could use, specifically to test the shared video memory?

Not every hardware problem can be detected software.
You have tested the RAM with Memtest86 +? Try using Memtest86 (no +).

In the worst case, you must replace the RAM. Ask the dealer for a new computer. I m sure they will help you.

I bought 1 GB PC4200 533 MHZ DDR2 SODIMM memory module for my Toshiba Satellite L30 - 10v (PSL33E) to make it 2 GB. After you have added the 1 GB modules Satellite L30 wouldn't start. With only 1 GB, that it starts ok, with the other 1 GB origianal only boots ok. (The two modules are ZCE6 430 - K4T1G163QB Samsung 1 GB PC4200 533 MHZ DDR2)

The two modules of 1 GB boot not together. I noticed that many others have had this problem. (please see
    This [t-22984]. post)
On this forum, someone bought the CT12864AC53E memory module which works, however I can't find this on the site of Crucial.
I've heard other purchase the sticks of memory CT572238 and CT572234 and have the same problems.

Memory Advisor says determinative buy the CT572234 memory sticks.

I have also updated the bios to V3.10, still does not start with the two modules.

    For me it s case;
The two modules don't work together
Seems the modules are not compatible there is only one solution. Replacement of RAM!

    Try other RAM modules.
I bought a few modules from Kingston and made good experience

  • Satellite L30: A few questions about the change from Vista to Win XP

My satellite L30 has Vista Home Basic preinstalled, but I decided that Vista is still a little slow & buggy and would like to change to WinXP Pro. I have 2 questions-

    1. a change to XP will extend the battery performance? (currently 1 h with no wifi I think it's pretty poor)

    2. I intend to reformat the hard drive for all the hidden partitions will be lost. If I decide to go back to Vista, at a later date I will be able to reinstall using the "upgrade" dvd that came with my computer? I think I'm wrong in saying that this dvd contains a full version of Vista, but I wonder if my serial number still working?

    Thank you

    Hello

If you bought the L30 with Vista operating system preinstalled, then I presume that you have received also the Toshiba Vista recovery CD.
The Vista on the recovery CD is already enabled and you don't need to enter keys t.

Regarding your battery question: well as you know the battery working time depends on the use of the laptop. Performance heavy on the laptop running decreases the life of the battery. It is a fact.

But you assume the Vista needs of more resources for laptop as the XP and the Vista operating system wastes more energy than other operating systems.
I think if you install XP on the laptop, you should be able to work with the battery a little longer as with Vista.

    Concerning
