Satellite L300 - Disk.sys error at startup of Windows

I got my recovery disc today in it and after a few reboots, I managed to get the Advanced menu F8. I chose the Mode option safe mode with command prompt. The window started to load windows drivers etc.. It has now ceased on the line of code with a wait if you please and has been like this for more than 2 hours.

Support: \windows\system32\drivers\disk.sys

I booted in VGA mode even
I haven't tried last good configuration known no joy.

It is obvious that I have a bad driver how to interrupt command prompt and run chdisk or search for the corrupted drivers etc what remains for me to do.
If I have to reload the OS it is downloadable from microsoft or is it paid.

If anyone has any new ideas, I would be very grateful this sorting was needed.

Thank you

Franco

Hey,.

For me it s does not clear why you try to enter safe mode and why you should get a driver issue after you have installed Windows recovery disk Toshiba. Sorry, but I don t understand this.

You can remove a driver without safe mode too. Also try SafeMode only. This means that without just the SafeMode command prompt.

You can reinstall Windows Toshiba Recovery disk

    Hey,.

You can start Windows in safe mode?

In addition it might be interesting what you have installed or changed the software/driver. Perhaps restore the system to an earlier point might be useful.

By the way: did you use a Microsoft Windows 7 disk?

  • disable disk automatic check at startup in Windows Vista

How can I disable disk automatic check at startup of windows vista?

    Hi HowardGarlinger,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

He would be grateful if you can answer these questions to help you further.

    1. you have to make the full scan?

2 did you a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

    3. are you able to start the fine of office?

Let us try the following steps to disable automatic checking.

    Method 1:

You can try the steps to disable the autochecking.

    a. Click Start, and then type regedit in the box start the search.

    b. right-click regedit.exe , and then click "run as administrator".

    c. develop the '+' for the following keys.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

    d. There is a value called here BootExecute. If bmssldr is listed in the data section and then remove it.

Otherwise follow these steps, the default value of the key is autocheck autochk *, * means every drive is checked for consistency.

    e. just add /K:C at the end before *. /K switch will disable autocheck on C: drive at Windows startup. If the final value should look like this:

    autocheck autochk / k: C

    > If you want to add more drives, the key should look like this: (by disabling the drives C and D)

    / k: D / k: C autocheck autochk *.

    > If you want to restore all default, just replace the key with the default i.e.

    autocheck autochk *.

Important:  The above mentioned steps show you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information, see the article:

    Back up the registry

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, try running a disk of Windows receovery environment check.

Try running the disk drive check WinRE using the full version of Windows Vista disk and check if it helps.

    a. Insert the installation disc.

    b. restart your computer.

    c. When you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.

    d. Choose your language settingsand then click Next.

    e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt

    f. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER.

    chkdsk /f /r X: (drive letter)

Note: when you run the disk check, there is a risk of data loss you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

    g. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

If you need further assistance, please answer and we will be happy to help you.

    Salvation Hong,

Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum. I will certainly help you in this matter.

The information that you have provided are not enough for us to decide the issue. Please provide us with more information.

    1. What is the brand and model of your computer?
    2. You did any hardware/software changes to your computer before the show?
    3. Your computer is connected to the domain?

Runtime environment of seed (PXE), pronounced as "Goblin", allows computers to boot remotely via a network interface. PXE allows a client computer to boot from a server independent hard drives and installed the operating system.

This occurs generally when the BIOS setting are changed or if PXE is not supported by the BIOS of the computer.

I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of your computer to check the BIOS settings.

Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the screenshot of the window to help you.

  • Satellite L300 - disk drive stops opening

My satellite L300 disc does not eject when I push the top button after a random time. If I reboot, the problem is always the same. If I turn off, the hard drive will immediately work again until by cutting in an hour or two. After learning more again and again on the phone for Toshiba to wipe the computer and start over, I've had enough. I want the email address for the Director or any person to high Toshiba. I'm sick of told to make little stupid things that will not help the computer and having to put up with people who seem to know "tonnes" on windows 7, who do not have a clue what they are even talking.

I want a contact address for someone who will help me (which Toshiba seems to make it difficult to find on their website). I must have spent tons of money on the phone for Toshiba, I have had nothing but problems until they have in a first time for a replacement hard drive. EVEN Microsoft said they gave me incorrect information by Toshiba. Toshiba said I have software problems during the installation of windows 7 kept freezing, even though Microsoft said it isn't supposed to freeze and it is definitely a hardware failure.

In any case, as you can see, I'm not fond of Toshiba and want answers. It is unacceptable to pay money for something that breaks within a year of purchase. The only thing I can find good on Toshiba, is that their call centers are British, which I understand. Please can someone get back to me, even if you work for Toshiba I'll be very grateful.

If there is no I'll be forced to call Toshiba for the billionth time and ask to speak to the Manager, because it is unacceptable, and I am regretting ever buy this machine.

    Hi jacksite2007,

To be honest I n don't know what you want here. Why you want an e-mail address of a Manager from Toshiba? Do you think this can solve your problem? I doubt that
And why you try to contact Toshiba? If you have problems with your laptop, you will need to contact an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop and fix it for you. You should get in touch with these guys here!

    > to wipe the computer and start over, I've had enough.
    Why have you had enough?
Just take the Toshiba Recovery disk to reinstall your laptop. It only takes a few minutes and you have to do only 10 clicks or two to complete this procedure. It is easier than you think. ;)

  • Satellite L300-1EF - black screen on startup

I have problem with my Toshiba Satellite L300-1EF appearing suddenly, I had no problem or warning before.

When I start my laptop, I saw the Toshiba logo and inside a black with a line screen say press F2 to enter BIOS and F12 for the menu start and after that, everything I've seen is [* _ *] in the upper left corner.
I rebooted and tried to get into the BIOS or boot menu, but noting one again had the same screen. I can open the tray of the CD, and when I run the HARD drive light flashes and then remains 2-3 seconds and then disappears.

    Help will be appreciated.

    Hello

Have you tried an external monitor on the laptop? So you can determine if the screen is black, the mother/graphics card or a faulty internal monitor.
    Check this box!

But I think that you will need help from a technician for laptop. It might be a hardware problem and laptop disassembly isn't so easy and should only be done by professional technicians.

  • Satellite L300-01:00 - DMA does not not Windows XP

    Hello

I have toshiba Satellite L300-01:00 (PSLBGE) laptop.
After you install the operating system (windows xp 32B) I installed all the drivers for toshiba web except one - Intel Matrix Storage 8.6.

This driver could not be installed on my laptop (installation ends with error - your laptop doesn't respond prerequisites not useful).

After all, my drive works only in PIO and I can't operate in DMA (I assume it's due to the installation of intel matrix storage failure).

    Could someone help me?

How did you install XP? With SATA drivers or without?

Maybe in the BIOS mode SATA is compatible and so you can t install Storage Manager Intel.

    Hello!

I think that this is not a problem. Windows 7 is only a beta OS and at the moment, the pilot decision-making is not very good.

You might find some drivers on the site of the factory of the WLAN card. In your case, it should be Realtek.

  • Satellite L300 - external screen works fine until the Windows login

    Hello world

I am trying to use an external display with my Toshiba Satellite L300 and it works up until I have to Log in Windows (or in Ubuntu just had the same problem).

At this point, the laptop does not seem to recognize the external display more and jump using the internal screen again.

The problem occurs in both systems.

  • "Start PXE on IPv4" error at startup on Windows 8

Original title: what is this delay in the startup of Windows 8?

When I turn on my laptop, instead of going immediately to the start page of windows 8, my screen is black with the Dell logo and a message on the left "start PXE on IPv4. After a while, he then said "FXE - E18 Server Response Timeout". then after another moment, he says: "start PXE on IPv6. then after a minute or more to wait it is said, "FXE - E16 no offer not received" small balls of rotation are beginning to turn and start page finally appears? What is the delay in the ' connection (it's probably a good 3 minutes, maybe more)? What does that mean?

Thank you for your kind words, although I think some here might disagree with you.  Sometimes, a simple sentence 2 or 3 response is more useful than links, grabbing the screen and information pages.

Having the hard drive the 1st boot device if you need to start from simply press the F12 button on DVD and you get a boot time switch of the device, much easier to change things in the BIOS.

  • Satellite L355 disk-read error/no safe mode

I have a Satellite L355 with Windows Vista. When I start my computer, it says "Reading disc error, press Ctrl alt del to restart".

I do not have the recovery disk, but I buy the Ultimate Boot CD. I have tried everything out there with no luck. It also doesn't let me start in safe mode. I press F8 at startup and it goes to a black screen with an underscore, and that's all.

Any ideas would be helpful, I tried and looked everywhere. Thank you.

    Hi MissMandy,

Why you don t have created a Toshiba Recovery disk?

Well, right now it sounds like that your HDD is faulty. It is recognized in the BIOS correctly? If so, you could try to reinstall Windows from a Microsoft disc or order you a new Toshiba Recovery disk:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

If it doesn't work your HDD is faulty and you need a new :(

Y at - it an option to load the default settings of the BIOS on your laptop? If so, try it.

Can't think right now that can generate this error unless you have recently
had a new device that is STILL attached to a USB port (USB drive, printer, etc.)
