Satellite L305D-S5938: factory settings restore Vista or Win7

Hello. Please excuse me if this question has an obvious answer.
Sorry if this has already been asked before.

I bought my computer until Windows 7 came out (around August 2009), so he came originally with Vista, and a CD to upgrade came in the mail.

I upgraded to Windows 7 for some time and used without incident.
However, one day the computer froze and I had to force-stop it. When I tried to reboot, it gave me an error saying that it lacked a critical file and I need to insert an installation disc. I looked online and tried to start the upgrade CD and a CD of retrieval from the internet. Right now the recovery CD "tried to fix" my computer for the last 20 hours ago, and I'm starting to think it never ends.
---
So my question is, if I restore to factory settings, it will restore to Vista or will be automatically somehow supported the installation of Windows 7.

If it goes back to Vista, and I reinstall Windows 7 with upgrade CD, I'm afraid that it will not activate correctly because I did once before. So if I reset to factory settings, I will be able to use new Windows 7?

A response would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello

> if I restore to factory settings, it will restore to Vista or will be automatically somehow supported the installation of Windows 7.

Personally, I've never used Windows Vista upgrade to 7 using the upgrade disc. But I think that if you restore the factory settings, you will get back to Vista and then upgrade to win 7 with a cd you received in the mail.

>, I fear that it will not activate correctly because I did once before

You can activate as many times as you want :) have no problem with him. Note that you must save all things necessary before restoring the factory as local settings. you be wiped.

Are there opportunities to put Windows Vista on the laptop without buying a new version of Windows Vista?

    Hello

If you don t have a recovery disk, you must order such a Toshiba drive directly to restore preinstalled Windows Vista with all the drivers and tools (factory settings):
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

But it s not free as far as I know it costs about 30 Euros.

So I t understand why you didn't create the recovery disc yourself. Everything is mentioned in the user manual

Obviously the recovery partition containing all the files isn't available recovery more likely it has been deleted or changed in the past
    A question:
You can reset the OS configuration using this method?

    (1) in the charm of settings, click 'change PC settings. "
    2) click 'update & recovery' under your laptop settings.
    3) click on the "Recovery" tab
    4) click on "Get started" under "remove all" and reinstall Windows.
    (5) follow the on-screen instructions to complete the recovery.

In case this is possible isn t, you must perform the recovery procedure using the recovery media (USB flash stick recovery or DVD disc)

  • Satellite L300. How to restore Vista after replacing HARD drive?

This hard drive died a week after I bought the laptop just for a month ago.

Could someone tell me how to handle?
    Thank you very much!

    > There is not any operating system is installed there, and I was not even trying to create a before recovery disk.
Bad, bad. Buddy. Generally, you need to create the recovery to the first disk using the laptop.
T did not read the user manual? Didn't you see the reminder?
It s always recommended to create the recovery disk!

    > I've heard to restore the system to the L300, it must use its recovery disk, right?
Yes, you are right. In order to restore the Vista, you must use the recovery disc!

    > The original system is vista. When I tried to insert a xp disc, it showed error after all the loading "stop: 0x0000007b...". "Could someone tell me how to handle?
I think that it does not work because of controller SATA HDD.
Either you'll assign compatible SATA mode (in BIOS)
Or you must include the Windows XP SATA drivers.

Check the HowTo of this forum area to get some details how to integrate the SATA (AHCI drivers) in Win XP.

  • Re: Reseting Satellite C660 to factory settings

On my Toshiba laptop to know that he could get the windows loading screen. It usually has the windows 7 loading bar cross with society but windows no logo above.

So I tried safe mode, but it still would not get spent, tried to restore (same thing), tried to boot to the top of the (same) recovery disk so I was left no choice but to completely start a new however following instructions on the toshiba site and the number of threads looking , I held F8 until he loaded up the advanced and selected start menu repair this computer (option 1).

I expect to move to the next step of the tutorial, however, it's the same old problem... It goes to the windows screen and load load just permanently.

The whole story is a bit strange. The value of the default BIOS and try to make clean OS installation by using the recovery disk.
Start your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu. When the boot menu appears on the screen, place the recovery disc into the optical disc drive and choose CD/DVD drive in the menu. Confirm with the button ENTER.

My computer is very slow.  A friend said that I can speed up restore factory settings. How can I do this?

5 ways to speed up your computer
    http://www.Microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx

How to restore your computer settings certainly depend on what brand of computer you use. You must contact the manufacturer or your computer's manual should give you guidance on how to use your disks restore provided with your computer or the hidden partition.

Please note that means restoring the computer to the factory settings, restore the computer to the State that you have first obtained it in. You would lose your programs that you have installed, your data, etc etc. It would be like a new installation.

    Consider other options first.
