  I have Toshiba Satellite L355D PSLE8U.
  A few days ago it stop start. Led is turned on, when the charger is in charge, but nothing on the screen and no noise from the HARD drive.
  I try to connected to the external monitor, change the memory, disconnect the hard drive. But no help.
  Yesterday I disassembly, unplug everything except monitor. After that I try the graphics chip of heating base.

  The only thing I have not tried is changing procesor.
  Laptop is hardly used last two years, there may be 100 hours of work.

  Could someone help me to restart the laptop

  Something similar happened on my laptop. The laptop has stopped to recognize the external device (USB HDD). Someone told me that it happened because I used the safely remove. Usually, if you want to for example disconnect the USB HDD or USB key, you must use the remove before disconnecting the device from the laptop.
  I just deleted all ports USB device and Manager after restarting the laptop operating system recognized all the USB ports again. Further, I have connected my external HARD drive, and it worked!

  I put t know which external USB devices you use, but sometimes the machines cannot be allowed because the ports USB don t provide enough power.
  In this case, you can disable the mode without power failure in the USB hub properties in Device Manager.

  I just bought a 1 GB mem stick samsung 4200 s 533 mhz for my L20.
  It does not show in the Bios or in the main menu in Device Manager, but it shows in cpu - z and pz Assistant 2007.

  I am very confused, and upgrade the bios on toshibas website does not include one for the base PSL2YE L20.
  I wonder if all the bios upgrades L20 will work with my machine.

  If the wireless network adapter does not work or its lack in the device, the FN + F8 key combination Manager would not work.

  I just finished a complete re-installation of Windows XP and cannot connect to the internet (via broadband). Convenience store said to check my COM ports in Device Manager because they "appear to be disabled. But they are not listed in the Device Manager. Follow the instructions in this thread:

  Method 1 - Ports still do even with active hidden view. However, I have seen "serial.sys" (listed under non plug-and-play devices), with a yellow exclamation mark-after internet research, found a post suggesting to uninstall it and reboot. I did, but now it is gone for good and I don't know how to get it back.

  Method 2 - cannot find the drivers of the 'COM' on the Dell Web site, nor on their resource CD (not even sure, there such a thing as a 'COM' driver - that's what I'm looking for?)

  Method 3 - I went through all my BIOS settings and couldn't find something called "COM." the closest thing I found and the only thing that was weird was "SATA-2 - Port SATA does not exist" (the same is indicated for SATA-3). But there seems to be no way to change/fix it.

  I suspect that the first item above will give you a broadband connection, but something else you said might indicate otherwise. If please reply with the brand and model of the device that you call a "modem" for more assistance.

  When you installed these drivers check again msinfo32 and check device manager...

  • Click Start
  • Click on run
  • Type devmgmt.msc and press enter

  This means that Win 10 drivers are not available for this unit.
