  • The bottom left of the Satellite L500 gets hot

I have tried to understand it, but can't find any decent help on that.

I have a 5 years old toshiba Satellite L500 and continues to get very hot on the lower left side. Now, I know that my hard drive is in the bottom right and this side never gets hot. So what I need to know is really what the balls - what is getting hot at the bottom left?

I can't find patterns that can tell me exactly which part is which on the inside, so I have no idea of what gives me questions when I'm using the internet or play games. I have a fan in my laptop and it is on a surface of grated so air can get to it easily. The problem lies in the lower left hand side.

As is - this does anyone have an idea why the low 1-1, 5 cm my screen gets too hot? It would be great! Thank you.

As a writer, it is very worrying that these things as I need my laptop to stay alive for a year or two. (Cannot afford a new and use it for literally everything I do...)

    > So what I need to know is really what the balls - what is getting hot at the bottom left?
    How about the vents?

The left side for laptop contains cooling grids, and you will find the cooling fans.
Hot air flow by the left hand side so the surface s mobile is hot

  • Satellite L500-126 - vertical lines on the Green/gray color dark

    Hello

I have a problem with my new toshiba satellite L500-126. With certain colors, like green, dark gray, I see vertical lines on the screen, only the part of the screen were the color is.

For example, on this screenshot I made. I see vertical lines inside the chatbox. There you can see the chattext. I looked at this picture with another monitor. But I don't see the vertical lines. Am I a bad screen? Or is this normal on this model?

    Hoping for an answer,

    -Floyd

    > I looked at this picture with another monitor. But I don't see the vertical lines.
In my opinion, the case is clear: there is something wrong with the internal monitor to the laptop and it must be replaced.
    What do you think?

I mean that if it would be a software problem then you would have the same lines.

I guess that your laptop is still under warranty because the Satellite L500 is fairly new. Contact an authorized service provider and ask for help. Normally, you should get a new free exhibition. :)

  • Creation of recovery Win 7 64 bit for Satellite L500-19 x disc?

    My new Satellite L500 - 19 X came pre-installed with Win 7-64 bit version.
Also includes a "product recovery Win 7 32 bit" disc

Inside of the package a brochure said:

"If you plan to use 64-bit at a later stage, please create a _recovery medium_ before installing Windows 7 32 bit"

He then warns me to create a "medium recovery 64-bit... you are ordering that 64-bit recovery media is not free."

The manual goes long on "_System Recovery Options" as stated in the manual I did a "Windows 7 64 bit repair disc" can I say that I don't have or can't have a real Win 7 64 bit disc?

The brochure says "a backup copy (file Win 7 64-bit) is stored on the hard drive as a _recovery image_" so is this the real Win 7 64 bit full disk that I'm after, and if so how do I get it?

Toshiba documentation is not clear, and I think rather contradicts itself?

I'm confused! Someone at - he understands what's going on?

    JohnF.

    Hello

If I understand correctly, you have received the laptop pre-installed with Win 7 64 bit OS.
But you didn t get the drive recovery Win 7 64 bit, but you have a Win 7 32 bit recovery disc. Is this good?

Matt good the case is that the use of the recovery disk will format the entire HARD drive and will erase everything from the HARD drive. This means that you will lose the Win 7 64 bit OS preinstalled.
So if you would not create the recovery disk Win 7 64 bit before using the Win 7 32 bit recovery disc, then you will not be able to go back to the 64-bit version.

Therefore, create the Win 7 64 bit recovery disc at the beginning. So you are safe and can install Win 32-bit and 64-bit when you want.

  • Temperature of the CPU in Toshiba Satellite l500-1ef

    Hello!

I bought Toshiba Satellite l500-1ef November and up to now laptop worked brilliant. Three-four weeks, touchpad and little space to the left of the touchpad began to be hot. I checked the temperature of the CPU in Toshiba PC Health Monitor (v 1.4.1.64), and it was about 30%, with 40% of the cooler. The temperature is increased over time and now, after four weeks, the touchpad is warmer, and is approximately 45-50% od CPU temperature, with 50 to 60% the use of the cooler.

I am using laptop for Internet only, work in MS Word and listen the music, sometimes I play Warcraft III on it, I have Windows 7.

Should I go with PC support, or it is normal in my model?

    Best regards

    Hi mate

It s nothing unusual that the touchpad would be hot from the CPU and cooling modules are placed near the touchpad.
So in my opinion, you shouldn't be worried about it.

Laptop s temperature can increase after a certain time of use
In this case due to the dust inside the cooling fans
If you wish, you can try to remove the dust using a jet of compressed air
I do from time to time and this helps to keep the temperature at the lower level

    Welcome them

  • How to install Windows XP Home on my Satellite L500-1ZP?

I formatted my Satellite L500-1ZP (PSLS9E) and thought DLI install win xp instead of win7 (do not have the disk/partition backup)
now, when I start it with the cd of windows XP blue screen 'windows setup' inside start but when its finished loading, it gives me an error code:
    ' * STOP: 0X0000007B (0XF78DA63C, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000).

I read somewhere that I need to download SATA drivers for my laptop and do a disc to install windows xp with the SATA drivers on it?

I tried to get these drivers, but I don't know that I have need and how to do the installation disc
I copy my original windows XP Home cd and put the drivers in a folder somewhere on the disk?

I hope someone can resolve my problem because the laptop is just over a year, and I don't really want to buy a new...

I just hope that you created the recovery DVDs until you started to install own OS. After clean operating system installation you not longer have access to data recovery.

You are right. For the installation of Windows XP Home edition, you need SATA driver. How to install Windows XP Home edition on the new laptop models that you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm

In the end, I must say that your last sentence is pretty confusing to me. You bought the laptop designed for Win7 and you want to use the old WXP on this. Do you really think you need to buy the new laptop if you want to install Windows XP Home edition?

  • Change the screen of welcome/opening of session start on Satellite L500

Hi - just bought laptop for my son (the Satellite L500 - 19 X with Win7 Home) preloaded and getting ready for Christmas.

The logon screen is the Toshiba logo with a white background. This makes shaded police fall very hard to read which is used for usernames; and the "change user" list after < ctrl alt del > etc.
What is the name of the file that produced this wallpaper of connection please so that I can replace to make the text legible?

Note: the same question on the desktop, but this can be avoided by unchecking the box "shadow" in Visual effects & change the wallpaper.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I googled a little and found this:
    http://www.withinWindows.com/2009/03/15/Windows-7-to-officially-support-logon-UI-background-customization/

The procedure is a little but delicate.
    You must change the registry.

    -Beginning of registry (Regedit.exe)
    -go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-Software-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion------authentication------LogonUI------background

-Create a new DWORD value named OEMBackground
-Double-click OEMBackground and set its value data to 1
    -Access register

This allows you to include the screen background image (jpg)

In C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds, you could include the jpg file.
The file should be named backgroundDefault.jpg + +.

Note: info and background folders don't exist by default. You must manually create these records. In addition, the images must be less than 256 KB!

  • Satellite L500-1WG - how to use the modem internal?

I am new to computers and laptops and that you just bought the Toshiba Satellite L500-1WG. I was told, in the shop, he has an internal modem?

What should I do to activiate/get connected to the internet? Do I need an external modem wired or wireless as well? No difficult language or abbreviations please, I am a total novice with very limited on this subject knowledge. Have only to learn how to start and run the basic set up.

    HEY buddy,

    > Told me, in the shop, he has an internal modem?
It seems that this shop doesn't know what they are selling or they wanted kid a small round little

It turns out satellite L500 is not equipped with modem and it doesn t have a modem (RJ12) port.

So if you want to use the modem connection, you must purchase an external. But for now he s not advised to use a modem, the majority of the pages are not designed for modem more.

  • This external modem will work with Satellite L500-1XL, running Windows 7

    Hello

When in Spain, I need to use the dialing up to the internet through Telefónica.
I guess that the L500-1XL is not an internal modem?

This external modem will work with the L500-1XL running Windows 7?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    A

    Hello

You re right Satellite L500 doesn t have an internal modem, so you need an external.

I think you can buy every modem that is compatible with Vista. Alternative ask your favorite computer dealer or authorized service provider

A friend got good experience with USRobotics 56K modem like this:
    [USRobotics 56K USB Faxmodem USR5637 | http://www.amazon.co.uk/USRobotics-56K-USB-Faxmodem-USR5637/dp/B0019LZCEI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1269253039&sr = 8-1]

  • Satellite L500-19F - Exchange processor

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500-19f, but the processor (Intel Core 2 Duo T6600) is not the option of virtualization (VT - X).
I thought about buying another processor with this option, such as the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T8300 (2.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 3 MB Cache). I would like to know if it is possible to make this change on my computer.

One of my doubts is that if appears the possibility to activate or disable VT - x mode in BIOS, and if not, when I run the OS if it is possible to use this capacity of the processor...
I have updated bios updated to version 2.10...
    So, what do you think?

In my opinion exchange of CPU makes no sense and will not help at all. As far as I know Toshiba doesn't offer special BIOS updates and, usually, exchange of CPU is not supported.
