  Then update the Vista of the State (you must restart the operating system several times)

  I'm not quite sure that what is happening with the webcam, but more often the webcam can be started using the software of the webcam installed m.

  In msconfig-> Startup tab, you can disable the webcam software to prevent automatic loading, while the laptop starts the software.

  Then you could start again the software and the webcam.
  You will see the little icon in the taskbar (lower right corner).
  Click on-> see the toolbar
  Then a webcam toolbar should appear where you could choose webcam only option.

  PS: If something went wrong with the installation of the webcam software, then uninstall the software and try again

  I have a new Satellite A660 with camera web inbuiilt, but there is no software of Toshiba (as stated in the manual) to run the web camera, nor face recognition software.

  I have not checked anything else yet, but not in the programs directory and nowhere in the start menu.

  Software for my laptop Web Cam enbeded driver has stopped working. My laptop is a dv7t-2000, Windows 7, 64 bit. On the HP website, Support drivers & HP recommends HP Media Smart webcam software does not work. This webcam has worked well for four years but crashed about a week ago. My efforts to find a work around found no solution. I downloaded both versions of Cyberlink YouCam, version 3.0.2201 worked for two days, another version 3 does not work.

  Help! I'm hoping to avoid a reinstallation that takes me usually at least two full days.

  As far as I know, the webcam can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS.
  So would recommend checking the status of the webcam in the BIOS too.
  Press F2 to enter the BIOS (when starting) go to advanced-> Control Panel settings

  My old Toshiba Satellite M35X-S149 had a dead hard drive. I took it for repair, but they said it could not be repaired and they could not recover the information about it.

  I think to be auctioned on eBay for parts only. I wonder if all the data that might be on the hard drive can be hacked somehow. I doubt if there is anything that it doesn't matter who would be able to do anything with anyway, but I would like the opinion of someone who knows more about this kind of thing than me.

  Why you n t remove the HARD drive before you sell the laptop? I would never sell a HARD drive on eBay because some people try to restore the data. If I have a HARD drive that I don't need more, I use it as HARD drive external or I trash because cheap hard drives these days, you get can 500 GB for about 50 Euros.

  Finally, and especially if the HARD drive is really bad, nobody seems so just remove and sell your laptop without HARD drive. ;)
