Satellite L630-10R - do not start and a blue screen

Hello world

I recently bought this laptop which had everything to convince me, unfortunately, I was a problem since last night and I want to try all reasonable before returning to ensure.

I was using the computer quite by chance (online games, web browsing, especially VoIP) when he decided to stop and restart. Now, whenever I try to start windows, even in safe mode, I get a blue screen as soon as I entered my password. The same problem occurs when you try to run in safe mode.

I thought it might just be a very aggressive and effective virus and thought it was well deserved, knowing that I had not yet installed an antivirus. So I burned a Ubuntu liveCD on another computer and tried to recover my data from here, but nothing helps: Ubuntu does not start or, on the contrary it gives me just sort of memdump or stacktrace (at least I guess that's because it has hexadecimal addresses and what looks like function names)

I'm kinda stuck and I really don't understand what could have caused this. Any idea would be appreciated. A code error that appeared when you attempt to start windows, but don't _always_ appear not, is something in the sense of * DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL *.

Thanks in advance,

Shin

Hey Buddy,

Theoretically, it could be a driver only issue

If you want to try everything before bring warranty, you should try a Toshiba Recovery disk system recovery facility.

It work?

    You should be able to access the BIOS, even if the HARD disk is defective.
    In case of HARD drive failure, the BIOS will not recognize the HARD drive and the details of the HARD drive should not be entered in the BIOS (first page of BIOS) settings

    In case the HARD disk is OK, you should test the modules RAM module defective RAM (one or both) is supposed to prevent the laptop to boot the system.

    Hello!

    It sounds like a hardware malfunction...
    If you have installed two RAM sticks try it with a single. Check it!

    I m not a technician to laptop but the problem may be with the motherboard, RAM or CPU, but this is my personal opinion.

  • Satellite 5200-902 does not start and several errors

    Hello

    I had a serious problem with my computer.

    While playing a game, the screen become corrupt. It is difficult to describe but basically blocks of colors appeared on the screen and icons became corrupt, lines and points seemed and the screen seems to tremble. The stoppage, the office appeared, and then the corruption of screen appeared again. A Blue Screen of Death appeared, but I couldn't read what he says because the display corrupted again. The laptop then restarted. Ran scan disk and when the computer was upward and the performer said he had just recovered from a mistake serious etc etc. But he did not know what had happened to other than a general driver error.

    At this point, I backed up all my files on my external hard drive.

    The laptop was then suffer from the same issue of corruption to screen again and again, but apparently only after being on for > 5-10 minutes. This time, the BSoD said that it was my graphic drivers and specifically the NV4_disp.dll. So I restored my graphics drivers on the originals included with the computer, but the same error happens again.

    My DVD Multidrive had stopped playing CD a week or two before it (a problem that I was intending to settle). However, mysteriously it started to work again after the first error. So I decided that the only thing I could do was to restore the computer. So I did. However when he asked for the second CD to be inserted the drive does not recognize it (a series of jarring and whirs repetitive of the reader in the same way exactly, that it had been a week or two before; though even when it would not read anything else, would still read DVD about 40% of the time). I tried several times, but meanwhile, the corruption of the display is back!

    I had to cancel the process and the Multidrive still refuses to read the recovery CD and so the laptop computer simlpy cannot be restarted. The most concerning thing now is that the corruption of screen returned when I finally tried to start the computer with the recovery CD - text was corrupted and polyhedral and randomly on the screen. The laptop is now off.

    I fear that it is a hardware failure. I don't see how it could be a virus because one) my anti virus (Norton) was only two or three days from its last update and b) display corruption occurred still even after that the hard drive had been partially formatted by the restore disc, and Windows had not yet started.

    Does anyone have advice? The problem is that I can't boot from the restore disc (unless there is a way to boot from an external CD drive?) and given the corruption of persistent display, I am not yet convinced that that would solve the problem anyway.

    Thank you very much in advance.

    Hello

    I've read about similar problems with the graphic driver or the graphics card of the internet and it happened more often during the game.
    I think it might be an overheating of the graphics card.
    You know that the games are a heavy application that needs a complete service for laptop.
    All portable devices run in this case with a maximum yield and produce a lot of heat.
    I think that it could have a bad influence on the map. As you say the problem appeared after 5-10 min. I think that in this time, the temperature has been increased.

    So I don't know how to help you. I think you should ask the technician for the control of the laptop. Eventually the cooling module must be replaced and if the graphics card has a malfunction, in my opinion, it should be replaced also.

  • Satellite U300-13U does not start and the recovery disc fails to too much work

    Hi all

    I have the above computer (or should I say my wife) & it is nothing that a good pain since the first day we got it.
    I have had it about 2 years & had to reformat the HD at least 6-8 times using the product recovery disc as laptop starts.
    The laptop runs Vista.

    In any case, problem I have now is that new laptop does not start, but for some reason any product recovery disc also does not work...
    What I can do...

    I have read on various forums that it might work if I reformat the HD first using some s/w on a bootable CD but how / what S/W can I use...?
    The laptop has a SATA HD 160 GB installed. How can I check that it all works.
    I don't know if the current problem is S/W or related material...

    Toshiba has a utility that I can use...?

    Thanks a lot for all the help...

    Hello

    What happened exactly?
    Do you receive error messages by using the recovery disk?

    Check if the HARD drive is OK! You can check in the BIOS.
    If the HARD drive is listed in the BIOS then the HARD drive and HARD drive found BIOS is not dead.

    Usually, you might start Notepad with the help of a Live disc for example Bart PE
    It s a bootable windows CD/DVD live

    http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

    This can allows you to format the HARD disk, and then use the recovery disc!

  • Acer laptop does not start after the blue screen

    After I got a blue screen (flashed by too fast to see the error message) when I try to reboot my acer 5610Z laptop computer with vista home edition, usually nothing happens at all. sometimes windows is trying to run the Startup Repair tool, then crashes and only a cursor flashing at a black screen.  Tried to open the case and clean the Fan & Heatsink heat to air without effect.

    The blue screen came a few days after I started using a new USB mouse, but the fan seemed to get high a few days earlier.

    But I noticed it will make the road to startup repair only if the battery is in, and never if only the power cord is attached.  Also, if I let the computer sit for several days, it is more likely start (even though he never passed from the Startup Repair).

    1. try the system restore.

    2. try to do a startup repair disk.

    3 acer Recovery Options.

    4. contact Acer.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    See you soon.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:
    As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.
    As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista repair disc.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    There is not a disk of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
  • Mozilla Thunderbird will not start after the blue screen.
    There was a program that was supposed to update the drivers but caused a blue screen. I had to go back to a previous point of reset to get Windows 7 running again. Now Thunderbird gives me an error "could not load XPCOM" at startup. What should I do?
    I solved the problem as follows:
    1. turn off the antivirus software.
    2 delete the program folder in Thunderbird, C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird (Windows 32-bit) or C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Thunderbird (64-bit Windows) by default.
    3. use the browser to download the Thunderbird installer on the Mozilla site.
    4 reinstalled Thunderbird by running the installation program.
    5 turn on antivirus software.
  • Satellite L840 - update of the BIOS and the blue screen
    Hello
    I recently bought a Toshiba L840-04f (PSK8LA - O4E007) and installed Windows 7 64-bit.
    Problem: BlueScreen
    Question: I guess it's the dreaded "blue screen of death' and I need to do something to prevent servious problems in the future (I used the laptop slightly for a few days with no problems).
    How to analyze the dump of information to find out what caused the blue screen?
    Or is it better to make it back in the last restore point before the blue screen event? A restore point was made until I updated the BIOS to v 1.80 to 6.20. In addition, Toshiba shows that there is a new version of BIOS 6.30.
    Before the blue screen event I had changed the setting of the 'close' button on/off and made some other minor changes to settings and then I connected a Seagate external hard drive just before the Blue error screen.
    Y at - it suggestions on what steps should I take?
    Thank you very much.
    Hello
    The BSOD appears usually due to software problem or hardware problem.
    You said that you have connected an external USB HDD to the computer just before the BSOD appeared so likely the BSOD was caused by the attached HARD disk who knows
    If that happened for the first time, don't be afraid, maybe it's just a time issue
    But if he appears often, you should study some more and must try to reproduce the problem and the reason
  • Satellite L450D - 11G - does not start and do not know how to restore
    Hi guys,.
    I have a satellite l450d - 11g on windows 7 32 bit.
    When I start it, it comes up with a message saying that I need to restore due to a file named: /windows\system32\drivers/msisadrv.sys is missing or corrupt and to insert my disc.
    Well I don't have a disc or anything like that with my computer and ive tried everything.
    Can someone help me atall? I'll be willing to pay, just to get my laptop to the top and runninng again.
    Press f8 and '0' method did not work either.
    Thank you.
    > The f8 and '0' method did not work either.
    Usually, HARD drive recovery option should be available by pressing F8 at the beginning of the startup procedure.
    Then an Advanced Start menu should appear where you could choose fix my computer-> drive HARD recovery
    If this is not possible, then you will need to retrieve the laptop using the Toshiba recovery disc.
    The disk can be ordered here:
  • Satellite Pro 6100 - does not start and displays a diagnostic code
    The 6100 Pro Satellite has stopped working after sitting for two weeks off fresh. A new battery did nothing.
    The usually lights green when the charge now turns orange, but does it also with 4 consecutive games of a long and a blinking short, followed by a pause, followed by another series of flashes, continuously.
    Where can I find what this diagnostic code (I guess)?
    Hello!
    I think that these diagnostic codes that you can find in the manual technique, but this is only available for authorized service providers.
    But you can start the laptop without battery and AC/DC adapter only?
    Maybe you should try to remove the adaptor AC/DC and battery. Wait one hour, then reconnect the two devices. Now, try to start the laptop.
    If it doesn't work I suggest that you should ask a technician for help laptop. It seems to be a hardware malfunction
  • Windows 7 will not Shutdown and then blue screens
    I got this laptop (Satellite A660-18) last week for work and after I installed all the updates of Windows 7 that it would be closed. I formatted the lot assuming that I had done something wrong and it was fine for a day and after installing the updates again, is once more show 'Shutting Down' for about 5 minutes and screening then blue.
    Help, please! There are a lot of people have reported a similar problem, but none of their solutions seem to work (ie. re-installing the BIOS).
    I am very excited to hear from someone!
    Andy
    I put t know where you found these reports, but I can confirm that my Satellite A660-13 q runs perfectly with all important updates.
    Have you installed updated optional too?
  • T500 fingerprint reader does not load at startup (blue screen)
    I have 2081CTO T500. Provided natively with Vista Home, but I reinstalled with XP Pro SP3. All the latest updates are installed both drivers and windows (as of March 12, 2010).
    I've had this laptop for about a year and the fingerprint reader to work properly. A few months ago it stops working for some reason any and I stoppped using it. I finally had time to reinstall the whole windows and installed. It worked well for about a day, but today I was using my computer and it suddenly froze unanswered. I turned off and when I walk back, the fingerprint sensor would not load and a blue screen came up with an error that a failure to boot and windows kept just restart at this stage and display the same message. I password protected journal and had loaded all ten fingers to use during the connection (not the Welcome screen).
    I tried power cycling, did not work. Subsequently had to connect via safe mode, disable the fingerprint sensor to connect and then reboot in normal mode to be able to connect without the Blue error screen. I tried updating the BIOS, did not work. Reinstalled the sensor of fingerprint, again the same problem. I also reset the fingerprint sensor in the BIOS and reinstalled the software, but still the same problem. Basically now I use the home screen and in this way, that I don't get the Blue error screen. It just continues to show as if the sensor is train load, never happens, so I just put a password and enter. I remember that some months ago, when I had a problem, it was similar. It worked fine, but when I turned off the Welcome screen, I suddenly had a problem with the sensor that was not resolved until I reinstalled windows. Now that I think of it, it could be the same disabling the Welcome screen things screwed up again.
    Could someone please explain what is happening? Why are there so many problems without the windows welcome screen? I know that the sensor works very well because when I am trying to scan my fingers or even connect to Thinkpad security systems, it works fine. It's just windows connect you that is screwed. I can't go back again to work at least with the Welcome screen. I'd appreciate any help.
    After a few bars, I isolated the problem to the personal firewall. I changed the settings and fingerprint reader worked very well. I hope this will help someone in the future.
