  I'll explain my situation, I think that many others have this same problem with the toshiba now.
  There is 1 year and some months pass after I got my first laptop Toshiba Satellite L650-11F and at first I thought this computer will work without problems for at least 2 years.   As far as I know for Satellite L650 exist no high capacity batteries but only one original with capacity 4400mAh.

  Do not use other batteries which are not compatible to your laptop model and this largest battery does not fit into your laptop.

  What you should try is to reduce power consumption. Use the power saver Power plan. Reduce the brightness of the display, close all unnecessary applications and disable all devices that you don't need.

  If you have selected the language, you will need to use the language that was chosen originally.

  You're right about the windows key. You have the windows key that belongs to the original recovery image and cannot be used for activation if you try to install the version of the own BONE.

  I have a windows 7, Toshiba Satellite L650 PSK1JA 0K 4017, ATI mobility Radeon HD5650 video card and I m unable to use second life (everything in the universe is a pink color) and its unusable because I need a display driver updated

  I tried the AMD site and am unable to install their drivers as they say that they are not compatible and I need to get my driver from the manufacturer (toshiba)

  I put t when drivers will be updated, but there is a workaround to install the driver AMD/ATI on Toshiba laptop. You must do so via Device Manager.

  First you need to download the driver and need to save it somewhere on the HARD drive (IE desktop). Unzip the package. Then, go to the Device Manager, choose the graphics card and choose Update driver. Now, we must choose the 2nd install option that allows you to point to the downloaded folder and choose the location where the driver must be installed.
  Then point to the driver folder saved on the desktop and the system should pick up the files automatically.

  Sorry bit of a newbie here.
  I looked and can seem to find the answer...
  I have a Satellite L650 running windows 7 64 bit. HDMI worked fine until about a week around the outlet. I do not think that I have installed everything that would have the effect it but now it has stopped working. TV captures the fact a cable is plugged in, but not signal. the software Intel says that it supports screen duel. The FN + F5 stopped working as well as the FN + F8 (don't know if this is related) other FN keys seem to work OK. I tried the software for the hotkeys to re - install. but do not seem to be able to find it for the 64-bit windows 7.

  My HARD drive has failed, so I bought a 256 GB SSD Crucial CT256MX100SSD1. I installed it in the laptop and went to use the recovery CD. It's the bit score correctly as far as I can tell, but to cut a long story short, I think that the recovery disk is missing a few vital pieces of information (read below - I may be wrong).

  This does not sound very good boyfriend. I'm afraid that there could be some sort of dysfunction material Mr. something like the problems of graphics card or motherboard issue.

  You can try plugging the external monitor to the laptop just to see if something would be visible on 2nd screen.
  But if nothing will appear on the 2nd monitor, I think that the chip of the graphics card died :(

  Of course, this is just my personal opinion and a laptop computer technician must check the laptop to know what part of the laptop could be faulty.

  Hi, I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L650.

  For some reason, the sound is only coming out of the left speaker and no sound comes out at all of the right speaker. Also even if I increase the volume of the sound still seems very low. I have reviewed and played around with the settings and same speaker balances without success.

  Theoretically, the left speaker could be faulty and needs replacement.
  What you can do is to check the sound settings where you can test different balances. Also make sure that its latest driver of Toshiba official Web site is installed.
