Satellite L670 - 184 PSK3EE: cannot boot OS
I have this laptop: Satellite L670-184 PSK3EE-039007FR
This laptop is no longer under warranty, but my will is to save my data and whether my hard drive might be fix.
For 13 months, I have seen no problems with him, but for 2 weeks, I have experiment some gel and bug during initialization. Last week, I couldn't reach the connection windows operating system, I try to reach the Restore tool (F8 key) but there is no possibility to achieve the recovery partition.
With a live CD, I managed to save some data, but after recording, my hard drive was not identified in the linux live cd or in a SATA / USB link.
The hard disk starts itself, but is not identified. The disc was not uncommon or metallic sounds. It is impossible to load an operating system or of the TOSHIBA recovery partition in the laptop (SATA port) or via USB (SATA/USB tool).
The laptop starts with another hard drive SATA (SATA drive Exchange).
What is your opinion?
Can it be fixed (at this point, it is not a question of money but a question of possibility...)?
There are software or processes to identy, restart or restore the disk without it recognition? How it identified?
> The laptop starts with another hard drive SATA (SATA drive Exchange).
In this case, it would mean that the disc is broken I recommend you replace this HARD drive and install the operating system once more using the Toshiba disk recover.
If you didn't create the disc of recovery in the past, then you can order it here:
Can anyone help? I also try to format a USB drive on my Toshiba Satellite L670 Windows 7 but he repeats to me windows cannot format.
Can you confirm that Windows on another PC or laptop do the same thing?
I have been carried out by the facebook virus and have to re - install my system using a system recovery on a USB drive (bootable stick).

Please advise as soon as possible.
Your support is most appreciated. Thanx
Did you check that once the USB has been connected to the laptop?
Please connect the USB stick to the USB port laptop s (check all) and then turn on the device and access the BIOS settings.
Alternatively, you can press F12 while turning on the laptop in order to get the menu boot device
I bought a new Toshiba Satellite NB10T-A-101 and want to improve performance by changing the HDD with a SSD and install windows Pro 8.1.
However, I am unable to boot from USB, it always mention:
+ Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. +
I already disabled secure, used 5 + usb startup different sticks (work fine on other laptops).
Can you please tell me what the approach is to change the HARD drive and then boot from a USB bootable (UEFI).
Laptop Satellite NB10T-A-101 was equipped with an Intel CPU 2810 n which is part of the new Intel Bay Trail-M platform.
This new technology Intel Bay Trail allows installation of UEFI capable systems:
Win 8 or 8.1 Win
Just a few questions:
Have you already changed the HARD drive to SSD drive?
If so, the new SSD is recognized in the BIOS?
Have you tried to boot from the USB flash memory stick 8.1 Win until you changed your SSD drive?
I have the Satellite L70-A-13F.
64-bit Windows of 8.1.
I changed the BIOS or / and settings of TOSHIBA Notebook for START of the CD/DVD.
But my notebook does not start from CD/DVD. It always starts the HD.
I have an application that build the HD Image for backup. for example. Active disk image.
Program needs to start from the CD/DVD to restore the image. But the laptop does not start from CD/DVD.
Program manufacturer said that to change the UEFI BIOS settings. But I see no UEFI settings on my laptop BIOS...
Would you please tellme how can I boot my laptop CD/DVD.
Here is a useful document of Toshiba on this subject - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03F30002R01.htm
At your startup secure machine option in the BIOS settings?
I bought this laptop a few months ago, I am very satisfied on this product, except for this: whenever I have ask complex tasks, as a recent game, the laptop go very hot, even if the ventilation system is not obstruated at all. The PC go warm, until it crash and downtime. Then it is impossible to start for another ten minutes, or the driving power remains off.
Some simple tasks can cause overheating too: I was very surprised to see Heroes III or Google Chrome with many tabs cause the crash as Crysis 2 or Shogun 2 TW.
How could I solve this problem without adding a few external mechanical fan? This is a caracreristic of the product, or is it an effect of manufacturing on only my laptop?
Thanks for your help and please forgive my weak English of Scripture!
> whenever I have ask complex tasks, as a recent game, the laptop go very hot, even if the ventilation system is not obstruated at all. The PC go warm, until it crash and downtime.
This is because all devices like CPU or GPU running at high performance and creates a lot of heat. This is nothing unusual. But it of unusual that your laptop is overheating.
I think that the cooling fans and grilles are obstructed by dust and cannot cool the parts properly.
The vents should be cleaned from time to time using a jet of compressed air.
I have to do this from time to time on my laptop to avoid these annoying cell phone problems.
I have reinstalled a 'clean' Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and installed all the drivers that I need (I think: P)
Value Added Package
Turbo Boost technology
Wireless Lan driver
Card reader controller
Chip Set Utility
Flash Cards Support utility
Intel Management Engine Interface
Touch Pad Driver
If all the works of FN Key´s but no WiFi on / off
I hope someone can help me with my problem :) and sorry for my bad English
So you mean all other FN keys work correctly, but only the FN + F8 key combination does not work as it should?
This means that you can not activate WLan I would recommend setting the BIOS to the default settings and reinstall the WLan driver again
The fact is that if the WLan driver would not work or if the WLan card is not installed properly, then the FN + F8 key combination does not work too.
Update the driver WLan using this page:
Hello, since a few days my laptop loses its internet connection when I move a few meters or put me behind a window. In this case, I am sitting the router to 2 meters maximum. The power of wireless transmission is very good according to the screen, but there is no access. If I go back inside and once again, I have Internet.
Should what drivers I replace to make sure that my setup is correct? Either way, I also found that the Control Panel, the network card freezes from time to time if I try to change the configuration.
The laptop my wife works correctly in all cases.

BIOS Version 2.30

Something like that shouldn't happen.
Do you use original pre-installed BONES you have gotten with this laptop?
According to tender specifications that there card Broadcom BCM94313 WLAN indoors. Try to install the latest driver from http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
Three days ago I got my new Toshiba Satellite L670-17 x. Installing Win7 was not a problem, but now (after the start of the third or fourth) I suddenly a big trouble with the operating system.
When I turn on my laptop, it loads up until I can see the Windows loading screen. Then - both - the laptop stop working... I can only see the loading screen, but nothing happens. Turns off the light litte to the frontsite (which shows that the specifications of load/work). No error message.
I want to avoid using the Toshiba HARD drive recovery, because I saved (important) documents on the desktop (I know... not very smart). I ask you to help me with my problem.
(By the way: I already tried Windows repair system, System Restore memory diagnostic tool and start Windows Mode without failure).
Thank you very much for your answers!
If you cannot boot OS in safe mode, that, in my opinion, you have a big problem. I'm afraid only installation of HARD drive recovery will help you in this m.
The question is what to do with this data.
Perhaps you should remove the HARD drive and connect it to another computer to have full access to all of these external data. Copy them, replace the HARD drive in your Satellite and install the OS by using HARD drive recovery option.
I have a three month old by Satellite M40X-184 with Mat * one UJDA760 DVD/CD-RW drive. These days the optical drive cannot read any kind of CD. But it can read the DVD. Is someone can you please tell me what is wrong with him? Is the drive broken? Need to replace DVD/CD-RW with a new drive? Thank you.
It is possible that your drive is broken.
These problems usually occur because the lens of the player is unable to calibrate correctly.
Well, your laptop is not very old the guarantee must be valid. In this case, I recommend to ask the service partner to help him. The guarantee must cover all replacements.
I have a Satellite L670 PSK3EE-xxxxx
When I run the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator application, I got two errors:
Unxcepted error, close the application and restart:
Then it displays the app and ask 3 DVD...
No idea why?
Where I download a new version of Toshiba Recovery Media Creator?
Thank you in advance
Creative recovery Toshiba claims 3 because three DVD empty DVD is needed to create a recovery disk!
PS: I found Toshiba recover Media Creator download on this Australian Toshiba page:
OK, let's go...
I have a Tosh Satellite L670 with all the trimmings of toshiba, including the center of recovery and the recovey disc image hidden. Everything is good so far. Until the I had a failed drive :( So, no toshiba Recovery Center and no image factory. And, being a developer of software (not a technician of material), I not create a recovery DVD set.
Stupidly, I have not around him, so my bad.
I managed to get a Windows7 bootable disk, got a DOS command and successful guest to reformat the main disk and boot sector. Then I had the image of another, very similar, Toshiba, loaded this image, re-registered windows 7 and got the girl back up and running. Obviously, I have still problems such as the images are a little inconsistent, but I have a system that works, so I can go online and do the normal stuff, but I wanted to put it to its factory settings. I had reset disks for my make and model was sent to me by toshiba (for a price, of course).
Instructions for use the factory reset disks are very simple. Place the disc in the dvd drive, shut down the laptop, restart, press F12 and select "Boot from DVD.
Done that... Did not work :( The message I get is that the boot DVD failed.
Now, my problem is that I have (allegedly) 2 factory reset disks provided by Toshiba and no way to use them. I did a little research, and the files on the disks (files of stormwater management) appear to be split system (WIMS) windows image, so I downloaded the Windows System Image Manager to see if I could use that to reload the original image. He didn't recognize them as image files.
I'm inclined to believe that a utility back (IMAGEX.exe) might do the trick, but I'm not convinced (do not know what is happening to use, don't know how to restore 'split' image files, do not believe that I can run while Windows7 runs the disk I want to reload the image for, etc.).
Thus, any help or advice would be appreciated, especially Toshiba (if they can tell me why do not work the 'instructions').
It's a really bad situation now. Generally, if the recovery disc is created correctly it should work. It is not designed for some kind of manipulation, and either it works or not. I don t think you can do something about it.
Please try to use it several times and if the same mistake happen again and again I recommend you contact Avato and explain the situation.
Orientation of Toshiba? Here on the user forum? Forget it. All you can do is contact the Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help or advice.
I have a * big problem with my Toshiba Satellite L670 *. When it starts, I get the message "+ Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your PC. This error may be due to an external disconnection from external storage such as a USB device or a driver in CD-Rom or HARD disk failure. "Check the connection of the external storage device and reboot your PC.
There is also a "+ status: 0xc00000e9 +".
When the PC starts, the indicator DC in, power, battery, drive HARD and Wifi are on. And I havn't any external storage device connected to this PC.
Is there someone who had an idea to solve my problem?
Thanks in advance
Is everything is OK with LAN, WLAN devices? Both of them work?
Check it please state material and Device Manager there. If your laptop is BT can you use it?
I have Vista business and my laptop is running slow and is full of rubbish.
I have in the past used my drive recovery to completely re - install vista and start from a fresh version.
However, I tried this once and it says that it cannot boot from cd - code 1.

Are you sure you have the right recovery disk?
Are you abele to boot using another drive as MS Win XP CD or Linux CD bootable?
Since I upgraded my Satellite L670-DX1 of Win7 64 bit to Win7 64-bit SP1 (2 days ago) I can't use my memory card reader, he always says it is a bad card and I should reformat the card with any card.
Does anyone have a similar problem or better yet a solution for me?
You have installed SP1 using Windows update option?
Have you tried to roll back the OS to an earlier time to see if the card reader is working properly again?
Have you tried reinstalling the driver of the card reader?
