Satellite less 300 - XP sometimes freezes at startup

Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro U300 Toshiba preinstalled with XP.
I formatted it and install Vista dual boot with Ubuntu.
After a few months, there is a problem starting. During Vista startup, he said the "Unmountable boot volume".
After hard reboot, it can boot normally and work flawlessly. I have this annoyed and then installed XP with SATA in there driver.

After installing XP again with dual boot Linux, XP works great for 2 weeks.

He now has the startup problem.
When XP tries to start, it tries to 10-15 minutes, sometimes comes to the login screen, sometimes not.
Hard reboot sometimes immediately works sometimes not. But once connected, there is no problem.

I installed the driver SATA (Intel Storage Manager). Support for all the drivers are installed. SP3 is installed by Windows update.
My hard drive is almost empty.
Also to mention that, at the start I have avast antivirus as well as Toshiba drivers, (display, protection of drive, touchpad, energy saving, audio)
I can find no reason for such a problem.

Can someone give me a clue what to do.

Thank you

It might be possible that your HARD drive is not okay, what do you think of thing about this idea?

I read in a few discussions on the Unmountable boot volume error message + + and in most cases, the HARD drive was defective.

I recommend to test if the new HARD drive would solve this problem.

Welcome them

  • Satellite C850 - clicking noise and freezes at startup

When I start my computer, I get a clicking sound as the morse code and my computer freezes until the noise stops. Initially, I had 8 Windows on the computer and had the problem then.

I hated Windows 8 anyway so I removed and installed Windows 7 Home Premium, thinking this would eliminate the problem but it did not. When I had Windows installed 8 noise would start at random times, but in Windows 7, it seems to happen at the beginning upward.

Clicks can go for 5 minutes to 20 minutes and it doesn't make a difference if I restart the computer. The mouse can still be moved, but there is no response when I click on something.

Some have suggested it's from the hard disk, but it is deffinately by speakers.
When I'm able to change the volume, the volume by clicking changes also.

    It's driving me crazy!
Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this problem?

    > Some have suggested it's from the hard disk, but it is certainly by the speakers.

I thought that you intervene on the rattling from the HARD drive noise

Start Notepad, press F2 and access the BIOS.

  • Satellite P200-140 sometimes freezes in XP

    Hello

I put Windows XP with Service Pack 2 on my P200-140 after his purchase last week.
For some reason it sometimes freezes, but recovers by itself after 10 minutes or more.

It only happens two times a day at most and happens so that only programs runnig 1 or 2...

I installed all the Windows updates, but also the latest BIOS update.

I will probably reinstall XP, but the thought that someone might have a simpler solution.

    Any ideas?

    Simply repair?

Well, you could solve the problem if you want to know what exactly is the problem!
But I put t think anyone here will be able to tell what is causing these strange crash.

First, it would be very interesting to know if the laptop works properly with the delivered original OS (vista).
Try to install the OS restore CD.
In this case the laptop runs with the factory settings.

You test it without any installation of the 3rd party software and programs.
If the system will work stable, then it is definitely not a hardware problem of problem but the software.

  • Satellite M30, screen remains sometimes almost black after start up to several minutes

    Satellite M30, WinXP

Sometimes, the screen remains dark, which means that you can see that a little bit news startup in the background and also the Office of windows, up to 2 minutes before suddenly become really turned on.
Not even the latest version of the BIOS has a change. And what's weird, is it still does not appear. A non stop-and-shut-down-start sequence showed that it appears about 2 to 3 times.
    What could be the reason?

    Hi LeTom,

did you use the os recovery toshiba or a clean install?

It seems that the display shows a fault, then here are a few questions to play safely!

There the failure also occure when the Red Toshiba logo appears shortly after starting start?

If you are using a clean install of the OS, you need to do a complete new installation with the Toshiba Recovery CD (attention all data will be lost, make a backup).
Then, the laptop is set back to the default settings of the software and if the failure occurred, you should check the material by a Toshiba service partner!

I think that the M30 is still under warranty!

The problem, or one very similar to it, seems to have something to do with the functionality of cache for the site of DW. A workaround that has helped others is to create a new site and leave it empty then switch to this empty site just before turning off.

If this does not help, I would also try to disable the Cache of the Site all together...

    1. go to Site > Manage Sites

    2. highlight the site and click the button change

    3. go in advanced > local news

    4. uncheck the box enable Cache

    5. save

6 rinse and repeat for each site

Hi, my illustrator CS5 freezes at startup. It was working properly until last Friday, now I can't open it. can someone help me?

    Leo,

You can try the list (5) being less likely).

The following is a general list of things, try when the question is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media. You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/preference-file-location-Illustrator.html

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

    Even worse, you can:

    (6) (check the box to delete the preferences), run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) to uninstall and reinstall.

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.
