Satellite M60-135 does support C - salt?

Hello

TEAC DVD player no longer works.
So I would like to replace it.
Think I fell on the drive Pioneer DVR-K16L of alternatives.

But it is obviously set to "cable select".
My M60-135 does support this, or do I have to choose another drive?

Any suggestions welcome!

THX!

Hello

These information are not known to me, and especially if you want to buy a car for you laptop, you must first call the Toshiba authorized service provider for more information on compatible players.

There is also another possibility to find out what the laptop supports parameters.
I use Nero burning rom and this application supports a diagnosis function. He entered the information about the installed CD/DVD drive.
After this diagnostic procedure, you need to know more details about the installed drive and you must buy the player that supports the same specifications

  • Re: Question about RAM on Satellite M60-135

    Good evening

SRY for my English in advance ;)

I intend to increase the RAM of my M60-135 Satellite. On the home page, I found two corresponding modules.
One is PA3411U-2M1G and the other is PA3411S-2M1G. The descriptions for the two modules are exactly the same (1024 MB (1 GB) memory PC2-) 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz).

Can someone tell what is the difference between them?

Thank you very much for your answers. :)

    Always it is that you should be able to use all modules of memory manufacturers of different modules that supports the specifications on the right;
The Satellite M60-135 supports the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM memory modules.

  • Satellite M60-135: no function Sound Mixer level controls to "CD player".

    Hallo,

On my Satellite M60-135 (Toshiba original Setup) Windows XP Sound Mixer shows a slider of level setting for the drive but it doesn t work.
I can drag the level control or may mark the mute control for CD player, but it has no effect.

I tried to disable digital playback in the device driver for the DVD-RAM device but it doesn't change anything on the level control.

Is this a general problem of the Satellite M60, is a specific defect of my M60 or can it be fixed by updating all the drivers?

    Thank you for any suspicion.

    Wolfgang Nohl

    Hello, Wolfgang

Believe me that this is not a problem or any kind of fault. As you know CD players used on desktop computers have audio out port. This level control Configurator will be used just for them. Portable CD or DVD player has this audio separated on the port and that this option cannot be used. The same situation is on my Tecra M1.

In addition, it is a tool of Microsoft and Toshiba has no influence on it. As you know there is no OS designed only for laptops and this option is that it can not be used.

Good luck and have lots of fun with your M60. It's a great unit!

of it? Weight, screen etc. Theres not much review´s on the internet. The best is on notebookforum.com.

    Hello

I have the same opinion as Pappl. As far as I know, this unit comes with two different graphics cards. Look for information on this subject and buy the best. The display is great.

I think it's the first Toshiba laptop with digital block. The speakers are very good and you will enjoy watching the DVD.

Just one thing: this unit is shipped without Tools & Utilities CD and before you do something, it is recommended to make a. Please go to Toshiba Assist and under protection & Fix, you will find an option that allows you to create this CD which can be very useful if a problem occurs.

    Good luck!

My Satellite L500-19Z does support DDR3 memory?

In my view, it has 4 GB (2x2gb 200 pin 1.8 v DDR2 SoDimm PC2-6400) memory standard (800 MHz I think). I want to move to 8 GB and I saw the following offer: -.

    8 GB (2x4gb) 1333 Mhz PC3-10600 memory Kit.

    My laptop will support it?

    I hope someone can help.

    Concerning

    > My Satellite L500-19Z does support DDR3 memory?
    Say the user manual?
    Did you check that?

The support of memory depends on the chipset.
If the chipset does not support DDR3 so you cannot use it.
The chipset is Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset and AFAIK that support DDR2 800 MHz 8 GB max memory chipset.

The BIOS of my M60-135 (Phoenix) clearly provides no possibility to view or modify properties attached readers DMA.

    Hello

I have a M60-135 with installation of 2 * 512MB RAM on it. I had bought 2 * 2GB 800 MHz RAM, but when I install them, the laptop recognize the 2 GB.
I have XP installed on the machine. Is there a way to make the device to recognize the 4 GB?

Satellite M60 can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM only. Sorry, but you cannot increase the amount of RAM.

  • Satellite M60 question - does not detect router BTvoyager2100

    Hello

I have the Satellite M60 I bought in france. The problem I encounter is that it is picking up every local router broadband (4 of them to date) with the exception of my BTvoyager2100 router.

I have a portable ibm English who picks up and uses the router bt with no problems.
I used the xp wireless search engine and the radar of toshiba, but it does not find my router.
does anyone have an idea what the problem is.

    Hello

The Satellite M60 I bought in Germany has not built in Bluetooth device.
The Bluetooth drivers are installed in any case, it's very confusing. I was looking on the same problem you do and finally found information that says:
Computers laptop Toshiba with built in Bluetooth devices have a label at the bottom of the laptop with the Bluetooth brand label on it.
On my M60 is no such label.
So I think that the M60 was not built in a Bluetooth device.
    In addition:
Bluetooth is not listed in the technical specifications of the M60.

    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)

  • Debian Linux suggestions for Satellite M60-135

    Hello

I would like to have a Linux Debian functional system as a main OS on my M60-135.

So far, I have tried several Live CD and DVD:
    -4 debian itself
    -Knoppix to 5.2
    -Kanotix 2006
    -Sidux Chaos
-Ubuntu and Kubuntu (the two 6.10)
    -Linux Mint 2.2

    Also:
    -Fedora Core 6
    -Free Mandriva 2007

None of them work due to problems with the X server.
Obviously, the ATI graphics chip does not.
Setup continues correctly - even up to the sounds of the operating system startup - but the screen remains black.
So no way to enter the console, do not change the files or whatever.

    Now my answer:
Anyone who manages to get a Debian system running on such a machine an if-HOW?
Please keep in mind that I am a newbie to Linux and I have for these reasons forward rather 'visible' explanations ;-)

    By the way:
OpenSUSE 10.2 recognizes the graphics card properly and boots up to a visible screen.
    What's different here?
However Suse is not my way of Linux...

    Thanks for all the ideas!
    Blues

    Hello

the thing is that linux is not perfectly executed on EACH system, so if you want first linux then use a distribution that works out of the box.

Thus, it doesn´t matter which distribution you use, if you are a beginner then start with suse. It s distribution perfect to start and after some time of practice, you'll have more experience and you would be able to configure your system if something goes down.

It s just a matter of time what distro you use, but don t overload with dists as fedora, gentoo, or something else.

Try it with suse and make your way. :)

    Welcome and good luck

  • Satellite M60 - screen does not light when I reboot

I have a Toshiba Satellite M60 and the screen does not come when I turn off or restart. It takes approximately 12 trials before it lights. When the screen does the computer not light again starts ok just no screen.

I put in sleep mode if I don't want the hassle of trying to get the screen lights up. What is a screen problem or inverter?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I doubt that someone who has no experience with this stuff will be able to replace anything on the motherboard.
For me it sounds very risky and I think that it of better to take the machine to an experienced technician to do this in his own hand and damage the whole motherboard

  • Satellite R630-146 does support disk HARD SATA II (SATA-300)

    Hello

I intend to change my current HITACHI 5K 320 320 HARD drive (HTS543232L9SA00), which is SATA I (* SATA-150 *) on the new HARD drive, but I can't find all the information my Toshiba Satellite R630-146 will support the new SATA II (* SATA-300 *) HARD drive.

Maybe someone has any ideas where I could find this information?

    Thank you
    Vaidas

    Hello

I m sure that SATA II hard disks are supported.
The fact is that the laptop supports the SATA controller and SATA II is down-compatible with SATA I. So it shouldn't be a big problem with the SATA II HARD drive, even if the controller would be SATA I

    Welcome them

  • Satellite M60-135: How can I change the language of the OS?

    Hello!

I have purchase an M60-135. But it's in Germany! So as you understand everithink it is written in the German language :) but
I understand English! What can I do about it? {windows and all programs}!

    Thanks to recommend it!

    Hello

Well, it seems that you need an English restore CD.
As far as I know it of not possible to install only one language pack or something like that.
If you want to have an English operating system, you need to reinstall the entire system.
In this case, you try to install the original engl. Windows operating system and then all Toshiba drivers or you contact the service partner Toshiba for a restoration CD.

    Good bye
