  I have a few problems of serious material with my Toshiba Satellite M70 122 and now I wanted to use recover my laptop with the recovery cd.
  Pretty sad I lost it...

  I have already appealed to the Netherlands from Toshiba and they informed me that they don't have them any more...

  If you want you can install the Win operating system from the original disc of MS and then could download drivers from internet!

  I want to install Win XP Home on my Satellite M70-122 (PSM70E) (after formatting).
  This is the first time that I do this. When I restart the computer when all, Win XP and antivirus, I didn't hear no voice, just bleep. There are the same that I was searching my WiFi. Could ' t find.
  Now was that I was downloading (almost) everything which has to this Satellite, but I really don't know what I can do to open files (zip).

  May I ask why you n t use the Toshiba Recovery disk? This disc contains an image of the settings from the factory with all the drivers and tools. If use you this disk, your computer is ready to be used again and you don t have any problems with the installation of the driver. :)

  In many cases (also for the M70 Sat) battery RTC is soldered on the motherboard. In this case it cannot be replaced

  The RTC battery provides the power to keep the current date, time and other configuration information in memory, while the computer is turned off. The RTC battery is charged by the adapter or the main battery while the computer is on.
  So theoretically if the RTC battery is empty, you could load it again to connect the AC adapter and execution of the laptop for about 24 hours.

  Maybe your recovery CD is ok, but the CD/DVD drive is malfunctioning and therefore cannot read the Toshiba Recovery CD.

  Have you tried to boot from another CD bootable like; Live Linux CD or Windows XP original CD?

  You should do this to make sure that's exactly wrong

  However, if one of the parties mentioned (CD or recovery CD/DVD drive) malfunctions, you must contact the ASP in your country for a replacement or a fix.

  I formatted my Satellite M70-122 in order to install Win XP - Pro and so I lost all drivers and programs pre installed. It seems that the recovery CD is of no use in this case, and I was wondering if there was a driver CD, I could order.
  I found the drivers (62 so far) for my machine on the Toshiba site and I was as well, I was wondering if I should download and install all. What about programs like the CD/DVD burner?
  Where can I get them back?

  The Tools & Utilities CD but that contains all the necessary drivers is not delivered with the unit, can be created by the user himself. If the unit is installed with recovery media you can find under Toshiba assist > protect & difficulty > create CD drivers & tools.

  All these drivers, tools & utilities that you can use for your own installation. Otherwise you need to download them from Toshiba download page, and please check the instructions facilities document and install all things in order. Order of the facilities is very important.

  I own an M70-122, with 1, 5 GB Ram - Intel 915GM, with abt 40 GB free on the disk. Running Win XP Home.

  I tried to upgrade to Vista Home Premium. The last part of the configuration / installation, the process stops and system recovers to Win Xp.

  So despite making a check previous with the Vista Upgrade Advisor and taking into account some recommendations to delete some incompatible files.

  What could be wrong? Could you help her?

  Just a question: have you updated your M70 to the latest version of the BIOS? As far as I know Toshiba offers updated BIOS for all portable WXP. before you start the installation of Vista, you need to update the latest BIOS.

• Satellite M70 needing an upgrade of RAM?

  Hi all

  I have a Satellite M70 who suffers.
  It's all slow and despite my music collection among other major programs to transfer on a drive external HARD, my laptop frequently slows down and blocks much to my annoyance.

  I regularly have a frag my HD on a base twice a week which helps a little, and I delete the temporary files, the Recycle Bin as well at the end of each month, but nothing seems to speed it up significantly. I run Spyware Doctor, but he does not reveal anything that would explain such a slow performance.

  Could someone advise me what to do?
  I asked for advice in this regard other suggestions is considering upgrading the RAM in an attempt to speed it up.

  In your case I would check and start the MSCONFIG and would disable some background process is not necessary in the Start button.

  The upgrade of RAM would be useful too.
  The M70 would support max 2 GB of RAM and you need DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM modules!

  You must select the Satellite M70 (PSM70) to download the right driver LAN.
  Also try to also install the Wlan driver because this device is certainly the Wlan card.
