Satellite P10 554 LAN wireless connection

Hello people,

I have a laptop Satellite P10 554. I'm not able to get the wireless LAN. I have a Netgear wireless modem and a Netgear USB wireless "receiver". I have configured the entire setup and switched 'on' switch wireless on the left side of the laptop. Nothing happened. The light on the left side on the laptop that shows the availability of the wireless network never radiated.

I have installed and inserted into the mobile network.

Please advise on how should I proceed to get the wireless LAN working.

Thank you in advance.
Matel

Hello

As far as I know that the Wireless LAN is optional on this unit. This means that the appliance has been delivered without wireless card, but it s can put the card in the laptop.
Are you sure that your device has a wireless card? You can check in the Device Manager. In addition, must be on the wireless network by using the switch on the side of the laptop and the key combination FN + F8.

Please check these options.

Good bye

    Hi all

I have a laptop Satellite P10 873. I just bought a Netgear DG834GT wireless modem/router and can not get completely connected to the internet via Tiscali (ISP).
The problem manifests itself in what I can connect to the router and can even ping various sites on the net. But trying to connect to a site using MSIE I just get "unable to connect" rejection page
In addition, using the CMD prompt, tempting a Telnet session to a web site on port 80 is rejected for example "80 www.bt.com.
I put all the securities to a minimum without effect.
I have another laptop that connects and works perfectly with the Netgear/Ticali Installer. I also identically configured MSIE on both machines without success.

Anyone has any ideas what could be the cause?

    Thanks Mike

    Hello

Well, do you have Devil WLan configurations?
If you use the Windows settings you must activate it in the WLAN properties and if you are using a customer this option should be disabled.
Also, check if the windows firewall is disabled. This option please the good state of market for the wireless card

In addition, I got an error code 28 for the base systemdevice (to 2 PCI bus) and

    Hallo Lupi

I had Satellite P10 for the year 2003. So please don't get me wrong, but you have 6 years book, designed for Windows XP Home edition and now you ask you cannot find drivers for Win7.

What you can do? Nothing. This oldie is not supported for Win7.
Use the operating system that is supported and to be happy. If you want to use a more recent software I think it's time for the most recent material. ;)

Satellite P10 is also really nice and absolutely reliable laptop.

  • Satellite P10 - 554 dvd - ram does not work

I got a Satellite P10 554, and as I said above the RAM does not work.
It should be a software problem, because if I reinstall the drivers it works a few minutes (it did until now yesterday it stopped completely)
It is impossible to install the new drivers or update a firmware somehow
(pilot: after rebooting, the old drivers are loaded again (but I uninstalled them))
(firmware update: I still got the message: invalid drive to update f/w)

I hope that someone of you can help me ;)

    Hello

What did you mean with the work of t car doesn?
You are not able to burn or read the media?

The error message says it all. I think you re not able to update the firmware because the firmware is not supported on this drive.

Try to remove the drive from Device Manager, and then shut down the laptop.
Usually after restarting again the operating system should recognize the drive again.
If this does not help, you can try to remove the drive from the laptop. Turn on the unit, then go into windows. The reader should disappear. Then stop and reset the drive in the notebook. After this procedure the laptop must load the firmware again.

    It will be useful.

    Hello

From your description, I think your device overheat and go down because he cannot be cooled properly. P 10 satellite is older and it's time to clean up. You can't imagine how much dust inside the unit you will find.

I put t know how are you familiar with this, but if you have no experience don t do it alone.

    Hello!

First of all, sorry for my bad English

    The problem:

I installed windows XP Professional on my Satellite P10 554.
I bought it on ebay and the seller said that everything goes well with this laptop and the tests when I turn on the laptop saying the same thing.

But after installing XP, it does not start!
It is the boot screen with the blue line that moves. This line moves a little, that it stop and that all the time and nothing happens!
I tried the same thing with XP home, and windows 2000, but it has the same problem!
I really need this phone. I hope someone can help me!

    Christian

    > I bought it on eBay and the seller said that if everything goes well with this laptop and the tests when I turn on the laptop saying the same thing.

You said that the test says it of ok. How did you test it?

    > It's the boot screen with the blue line that moves.

You mean the OS bar which moves while loads the OS. Am I wrong?
Hmm, if you have tested the laptop with Win XP and W2K then I guess that you have installed the two OS on this laptop and it was possible to install it?
    Am I wrong?

Sorry to say but if the laptop is unable to load the operating system the hardware would be a malfunction.
I think you should first check the memory modules, then the HARD drive. Maybe one of the modules does not work correctly or some bad sectors can cause the problem.

    Hello

I ve got a P10-554 and tried to install a mini-PCI Intel 2200BG card. the driver is correct installed but the work of won´t-hardware switch. I have could´t turn on the wireless card.

    in another P10 554 a 2100 b card work very well.

    Anyone know why?

    Hello

It is possible that new generation cards cannot be activated by a wireless switch. I'm not sure that f happens only with Intel adapters. Please check in Device Manager if the card is recognized and installed correctly. If so try to establish a wireless connection.

I'm sure it should work correctly.

    Hello

I think that the PA3416U-1MPC should be compatible.
I mean the laptop supports wireless Mini-PCI network card and PA3416U-1MPC is a Mini-PCI wireless network card.

The WLan antenna behind the screen of the laptop computers must be connected to the connectors on the wireless Mini-PCI network card.

  • Satellite L50 - Has - no WIRELESS connection found trying to get online

    Hello

I use WIFI to connect to the net.

I can't see my internet connections for my WIFI. I can be downloaded on laptops and other devices.

At first I could just turn off and on and it would work. Then I disabled and re-enable the Qualcom Atheros Ethernet. Now, nothing works.

I tried to download the WLAN on this Web site. It still does not work. Not sure if I downloaded it correctly. I found the files, but the exe is from 2013.

    Help, please.

    Kind regards

Can you please check the WLan module details in Device Manager?
Information (name, State) is important get the driver of Toshiba driver page.

I guess you only a problem with the WiFi connection and by using the LAN connection, you are able to access the internet. Is this correct?

I guess that there is a conflict between the WLan standards or WLan encryption.
In General, the WLan router and the module/Wlan card must be on the same WiFi 802.11 standard (ie: A, B, G, N).

You must also make sure that the encryption (WPA/WPA2 AES, TKIP) is supported by the wireless network adapter.
    Sometimes, this can cause problems...

If you wish, you can disable (but only for testing) WLan encryption and could try to connect the laptop to 'open' LAN wireless... it would help allows you to check if the current encryption creates some problems.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300-1EA - wireless connection, drop all the time

Hi, I have a problem with my wireless connection fall all the time on my Satellite Pro A300 1EA.

It happened earlier, but I've fiddled about a little with change of drivers and the removal of the connection settings for the registry and it then worked fine for months, until yesterday.

There were several updates for Windows installed yesterday, but none of them have been updated driver for the wireless card, and they don't look like they should cause problems. The fact that the problem happened before makes me think that the updates can be anything to do with it.

I use the * Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 * for Vista 32 - bit version 12.2.0.11.3 drivers from the Toshiba download page.

Other computers on the same access point have no problem, so I think it is specific to this laptop. The connection speed is normally 6 Mbps, but I cannot even check e-mail now without the abandonment of the connection.

Laptop will be thrown against a wall soon if no one can help you.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: I've already made sure power settings are at maximum to the WLAN card, even if on battery, or what power management.

    Hello

Have you tried to use the Windows System Restore feature? After that your WLAN should work fine again.

In addition, I can recommend the latest WLAN driver in the Intel page, it s version 12.4.xxxx. I installed the driver on my Qosmio laptop and don t have any problems with it: [www.intel.com].

If you have any other questions, please let us know!

  • Re: Satellite L670 loses the wireless connection

    Hello

I have a Satellite L670 - 1 H 1, a new laptop that runs Windows 7, with all the drivers and software uptodate, including the wireless card.

I have a BT Home Hub 3 with an Edimax EW 7416APN v2 300 m range extender to help boost the signal in the kitchen area.

The laptop works fine when I stay in the room where the reception centre. If I move in the kitchen the laptop will usually lose the wireless connection after a few minutes and I cannot get it back unless I turn the LAPTOP works and return to the Home Hub.

I see no obvious reason to this problem. Two other laptop computers used in the home, more a smartphone stay connected with full signal in every corner of the House, at any time.

I have to use the range extender, but is it possible that the laptop Toshiba just don't hear well with it?

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thank you
    Canton

    Hello Canton

As you know quality of connection WLAN depends on different factors is not easy to say why you have this problem, WLAN. I use Toshiba laptops for a long time now and I didn't notice in the past some serious question of WLAN.
For example I'm 4 router with standard g and have very good signal even in the cellar too or out in the back yard.

If possible, try to test the WLAN connection elsewhere. Maybe your friends have WLAN routers so you can test it.

You have a new router or old?
What WLAN standard do you use (b/g/n)?

  • Satellite L350 loses the wireless connection

    Can someone please help?

I have a Satellite L350-170 which perfectly connects to the internet using a cable to connect to my router.
When you use the wireless to connect, I can only get a connection so I first of all turn off the wireless card and then enable it again, but I lose the connection within two minutes. I can reconnect if again, I turn off and then turn on the map.

The OS is Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2, fully implemented to date. I have updated to the most recent available wireless network driver. I tried to turn off IP6.
The laptop is connected to the network and receives a signal of power when it connects.
When the connection is lost, no networks are detected, but properties card says card works Ok, although Ipconfig says media disconnected. Other mobile stay connected anywhere in the House.

Thank you in anticipation of a quick solution.

Where did you download the latest driver for the Realtek 802.11 g (RTL8187B) wireless network card?

This is the WLan from Toshiba portal, where you can find the latest version of the driver:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

I recommend also to renew the IP address if this problem would occur.
Cmd execute command: ipconfig / renew
This should help to assign the new ip address

By the way: in the Device Manager-> Wlan card-> properties-> power management, you can uncheck the mark option which disables the card in order to save energy.

  • Satellite P10 554: broken inverter and market

    Dear Group,

in recent weeks, I have massive probs with my p10 554 (2 years +).
The converter to display is broken and the display for the most part remains dark. No big problems so far, as the laptop is my secondary computer, not connected to a monitor. But: since this inverter quit working properly, I noticed, that the machine has problems starting...

By pressing the button WE're now more often without any effect on the system, ways, it feeds on. DC current, battery and leds are working properly, the two are lit in green, the battery is fully charged and DC is good.

I followed a little guide assistance procedures, but none of them has fixed the problem.

Sometimes - I don't see any chronological rule in this behavior - the power on works, but when I pass the laptop turned off later, I couldn't immediately turn it back to the.

Q: has the inverter broken some influence on the market, and if so, how can I bypass it? Or I have two problems here (a circuit feeding broke apart a broken inverter) and need to have some repair teacher.?

    Thanks for any advice,
    FIU

    Hello

a broken inverter should not have any influence on turn on/off the laptop.
This problem can have several causes. So I think the best way would be to leave the machine to be checked by a service technician.
And by the way, you can only get a new inverter of a service partner.
