Satellite P100 - 160 (PSPAAE) - conflict of resources on how to start message
For awhile, I had severe performance with this laptop problems. It takes 20 minutes to turn on.
When he started gives 3 messages in the startup routine:
ERROR: Conflict of resources-controller BUS series PCI on the motherboard. Bus: 0a, device: 04, function: 01
ERROR: Conflict of resources-on the motherboard PCI mass storage controller. Bus: 0a, device: 04, function: 02
ERROR: Conflict of resources-PCI on the motherboard. Bus: 0a, device: 04, function: 03
Press F1 to resume F2 to Setup
I tried the re-installation of the recovery disk, formatting the hard drive and all from scratch. I also updated the BIOS
The end result seems to be that the startup still takes time, with the same messages, but once started the performance is improved.
These devices appear in device and the warnings of problem management.
Any thoughts on how to solve it please
Help please
Hello!
It looks like there's something wrong BIOS or maybe hardware
Have you also tried to reset the BIOS to default settings?
I think that the recovery disc can t solve this problem because it appears after the current load to run BIOS. This means that in the worst case you have to go to an ASP and ask a technician for help.
Good bye

Any ideas? I think that perhaps is McAfee Security Center has something to do with it.
Hello
I suggest the following: recover your machine and update tools and drivers again. I don't know if McAfee is the cause of your problem, but if a system is broken on the software side, then, among the most popular and useful actions is to restore the system, and then being happy when it works again.
Would appreciate comments on your success.

Satellite P100-160 (PSPAAE-01D00UEN) - upgrade processor
I currently have a Satellite P100-160 part number: PSPAAE-01D00UEN. Is it possible to upgrade the processor in this machine, I find it very slow in the graphics work I do.
Any other suggestions as to speed up the machine would be greatly received.
Thank you
Ian
Hi IanGreen,
A CPU upgrade is not possible, or let s say not supported. All that is supported is the preinstalled Toshiba CPU. If you want another CPU, sometimes at your own risk. Probably the motherboard, BIOS or chipset is not able to handle this or the cooling module is not good enough for faster CPU
Anyway, your laptop is not the most recent, and if you need more performance, you should look for a new model ;)

Hey guys,.
I was wondering if there was any way I could v4.70 BIOS to support 4 GB of RAM? I am running Slackware 13 x86_64 and still not get my installation to reveal the true amount of RAM installed. It displays all of the RAM in BIOS. Here is the output of/proc/meminfo...

Would it not possible to Flash my motherboard with the firmware of another model of laptop computer? Or is there a BIOS update in the near future that will allow me to make use of my full 4 GB of RAM?
Hello
Normally, the Satellite P100-160 supports 4 GB of RAM. If you check the user manual, you can find this information it can be upgraded to 4 GB of RAM with two 2 GB memory modules.
Just a question: how much will be shown in the BIOS directly? He acknowledges the full 4 GB of RAM?
And don t forget you can only use 4 GB of RAM with a 64 bit OS. If you use 32-bit OS, you can only use up to 3.2 GB of RAM.

Satellite P100 - 160 PSPAAE: Question on the driver installation instructions
Hello.
I recently bought a P100-160 model PSPAAE with Vista pre-installed. Like many others, I had no choice with the OS and my experience so far has left me wanting to go back to XP.
I found the page of appropriate support for the drivers (I guess I have to use the drivers for the PSPAA) and read the instruction sheet that comes with them. There are some questions I want answered before I start on this particular cliff.
The guidelines mention the SD card Format utility, but I see no mention of one in the list of drivers. It is included in one of the other drivers or is it not found elsewhere?
Why the Sun Java Runtime Environment is necessary?
I guess if my machine has no Bluetooth or Infra-red that I didn't need to load the drivers.
Thanks in advance if anyone is able to help.
Kind regards
John
Hi John, I recently went through the same process and after a few attempts, settled on the following as a reasonable XP installation (I don't need all that other stuff):
Satellite Pro P100 (PSPAEA)
Chipset: Mobile Intel (r) 945 PM Express Chipset
Memory controller: 82945 PM
I/o Controller: Intel (r) 82801GBM i/o controller hub (ICH7M)What I installed...
03 - display Driver
04 chipset Driver
05 - network - upgrade Ethernet driver
06 - network wireless driver
09 - sound Driver
10 - driver CardBus controller with UltraMedia
12 - modem Driver
13 - modem region Select utility
14 Bluetooth Stack
15 - Bluetooth monitor
17 Hotkey Utility
21 - SD Secure Module
22 - SD memory card format
28. DVD-RAM driver software
33 user manual
TOSHIBA fingerprint digital-software (from Vista drivers)
TOSHIBA-disk-Creater (from Vista drivers)What I do not installed...
01 - Microsoft Updates (I used Windows Update to do this)
02. Sun Java Runtime Environment
07. customer Intel utility
08 Atheros Client Utility
11 - touch pad Driver
16 - C - infrared driver
18 YPP/power button Utility
19 utilities
20 - buttons
23 - assist
24 - ConfigFree
25 - zoom utility
26 PC Diagnostic Tool
27 CD/DVD Drive Acoustic Silencer
29 WinDVD Creator
30 - RecordNow
31 DLA
32 - DVD playerNote: for 05 - pilot network to install correctly, I had to upgrade the Device Manager ethernet controller.
The numbers relate to roughly the original installation instructions. I do not pretend that it's the perfect installation, only one who appears to be stable and suitable for my purposes...
With respect to the SD memory card Format driver, I found it somewhere, but I don't remember where (sorry). It has the following file name, even if once extracted (ToshibaSDMemoryCardFormat_v2100A.exe).
Hope this helps and please post your results as it is good to share their experiences.
Regards, Rob
PS one of the biggest advantage I found was much better video support nVidia for Vista drivers were not very good and assured por.

Satellite P100 - 160 PSPAAE - recovery disk does not work
Hello
My problem is that when I used the restore disk provided with the laptop it froze the computer when he was to "expand our files (0%). »
I thought that drive was defective, so bought a new drive of Toshiba (£30) but get the same error.
Machine is now starts rained because the recovery disks erased the hard drive before freezing.Any ideas?
Thank you
Hello
To be honest, this is the first time I see this error
I doubt that the recovery disk is defective or the drive HARD because as you say it was possible to install Win XP on this laptopI would recommend formatting the HARD drive again to erase all partitions and format the HARD drive using the Win XP disc. Then take the recovery disk and try to reinstall the new Vista operating system

ShazHi, Fabien,
I've never seen such a question...
For me, this looks like a malfunction of the BIOS. What happens if you go into the BIOS (F2) and load default settings? After loading default settings, save the new settings and restart your computer. If it doesn t help I think that you need professional help of a mobile technician because the ROM module needs to be reflashed.

Re: Satellite P100-160 - failed display driver installation
Satellite P100-160, PSPAAE, 32-bit vista.
Today, Aero is not working and not available in graphics properties. Later installed the site of Toshiba UK, 15.0.1.1114 Intel display driver. This version was actually older than my current driver but I thought that maybe she was the only availabel that it must be correct.
The driver installation failed with an error (no details don't just "year error has occurred"). Now, I don't have aero and my screen resolution cannot be set above 1280 x 800 - 1440 x 900 is expected
To say that I'm pisseed would be an understatement. Can anyone help? Thank you
Hey,.
If Aero is not available I think that it s display driver problem
In any case, did you remove the old display driver before installing a new? Go to Device Manager > right click on the graphics card > uninstall. After the restart the display driver must be uninstalled and you can start with the display driver installation.
If you install drivers make sure you are logged in as administrator and antivirus/firewall is disabled. Reboot once again and you should be able to choose the native screen resolution now.
Check this box!

Satellite P100-160 - system does not boot
Hi all
I was hoping someone may be able to help me with a problem I have with my Satellite P100-160.
I was using it the other night without power connected when my battery ran out and he stopped.
When I reconnected the power and it works I got the usual message asking if I wanted to start as normal I did.
To do this i Gets the icon in the lower right corner telling me the system was trying to install a new mass storage device driver. He couldn't find it and I haven't added or removed something in my system.
When I stopped and went to the re - start the next time, I received a message on the start screen in the sense of:
error
conflict of resources - controllers USB bus pci motherboard bus: 0a, device: function 04:01error
resource conflict - controller mass storage of the pci on motherboard bus: 0a, device 04 function 02error
resources - bus pci motherboard conflict: 0a, device: 04, function 03Press F1 to resume F2 to Setup
I cannot go into the installer, but if I take the system just hangs and stop all the hard disk activity. I have managed to do successfully start once but no more, can't get into safe mode or anything. When I have it at my local computer store the guy he looked the error and said: it's broken, the motherboard has gone and there is nothing I can do with it. Im very disappointed that the laptop is only 2 years old and I would have thought that it would last longer than that.
So my question s are the right guys, it's broken or is there something that can be done with it? If it is broken I can access the contents of my hard drive with another laptop (the guy from the store said something on to using a hard disk enclosure and use it as an external hard drive?)
Thanks in advance for any advice
D
Hello
It seems that the motherboard is affected
In the message error - bus motherboard pci resource conflict: 0a, device: 04, function 03 the motherboard is mentioned, so everything looks like motherboard failure.
But to be 100% sure you should ask the authorized Toshiba service provider of the opinion.Good luck

Questions about changing OS from Vista to XP on Satellite P100-160
Hello
I wonder if someone could help me... I don't like Windows Vista with a passion and I would much change for Windows XP.
My P100-160 provided with Windows Vista pre-installed, but until now I feel of it is poor to say the least! So I'd like to return the easy to use Windows XP.
Could you get it someone please let me know if there is something special I have to do in order to get XP to run properly. I've been reading through some of the questions on the forums on this topic, but want a nice simple step 1, step 2, etc. to ensure that I do the things first.
Thanks in advance for any assistance received.
Best regards
Yvonne
Hello
You need description step by step? Come on man :)
Do everything simply if you want to install the XP. During the installation of XP, you will need to format the HARD disk, partition to install XP on the laptop.
Then, after the installation of the OS, you could install the drivers of Toshiba which can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page. Please note that you need XP compatible drivers! As far as I know that the Satellite P100-160 belongs to the PSPAAE series. So please choose this one if you download the drivers.
In addition, you will need to install drivers in the correct order. Placed on the Toshiba page installation instructions could be very useful!
Best regards
Goodbye ;)

Hello
I downloaded the user manual for this laptop from the Toshiba page and it says that you can use the 160 GB HARD drive.
I think that he n t be a problem to use a bigger like 200 HDD or 250 GB.Sat P100 supports a SATA HDD controller and you should therefore use the HARD drive 2.5 SATA.
