Satellite P100: Multiprocessor is disabled in the BIOS v4.20

Hello

I have just updated the bios to 4.20, after reboot, I went to the bios settings and saw that the multiprocessor (the option for the use of 2 CPUs) is disabled.

After I enabled it, the computer is very slow, and I had problems with starting the computer.

When the multiprocessor option is disabled, the computer works ok, but the Task Manager indicates that a single processor.

I had to go down to the bios to version 4.00.
I would like to know if there is another solution for this.

Hello

In front of me, I have Satellite P100-191. I did the BIOS update to version 4.20, and in my case, Multiprosessor is undoubtedly permissible. In this case, the entry in the Device Manager shows 2 processors.

I disabled this option and the laptop runs slowly than before and in the device manager what a processor is listed.

I don't really know what is wrong in your case, but I can confirm that the Satellite P100-191 friends, everything works well.

    Hello

What operating system you use, and you have installed the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery disk?

If you use Windows XP you have two install two hotfixes from the Microsoft Knowledge Base: KB835221 and KB888111.
Two updates are integrated into SP3 and you need to install the patches first, and then the driver.

In addition, you should try to install the latest driver on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Last but not least, make sure you use the latest version of the BIOS.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A200 - black screen after the BIOS screen

    Hello
I'm new to the forum and have a big problem. So, any help is welcome and appreciated.

My Satellite Pro A200 turns black after the BIOS screen and a black screen with a blinking cursor. Also just as the screen goes black a beep can be heard which shows windows boot.
I can access the toshiba Setup screen but not the installation of security mode.

    Kind regards

    Hello

You wrote that you can access the BIOS, but have you checked if the HARD drive is recognized properly? Perhaps because the computer cannot start HDD isn't recognized then you should check this.

If the HARD drive is recognized, I would try a Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility. It seems that Windows isn't able to start and if you reinstall the whole system should help get rid me of this. Go to the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive as a boot device.

    Check this box!

  • CQ58Notebook PC, D0X10EA #ABU: AMD - V is disabled in the BIOS

I downloaded Oracle Virtual Box 5.0.12 and SASUniversity Edition (a free statistical software package), I understand not working together. Both seem to be installed correctly. But when I press the 'Start' button in Virtual Box for running the SAS package, I get an error message:

    (VERR_SVM_DISABLED)

AMD - V is disabled in the Bios

E IN CASE OF FAILURE (0X80004005)

This can be corrected? I thought that my BIOS can be updated, so I've just updated, version F.27 to F29, and the problem remains.

Can I activate my AMD - V in the BIOS? If so, how? (In plain English please. I'm not very tech savvy, in which case you already guessed!)

AMD - V is supported on the processor, so there should be a setting in the BIOS to enable it. Enter the BIOS by F10 you turn on.

    Hi petertomblin,

I suggest you remove the floppy from the boot order in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System). Later, check to see if the problem persists.

You can check again if the disk is disabled in the BIOS.

    Hey Buddy,

  • Satellite P100 - white screen on startup: No. BIOS!

I doubt it. Once a BIOS is damaged, its cant boot or anything like that, so you can't reflash the BIOS. I guess that the motherboard would need replacement.

  • Satellite P205D-4378 crashed so that the BIOS update

    Hello everyone,

It is my first post on the forum, although I've read here a lot.

My problem seems to be classic: had several problems with my Satellite P205D-4378 crash.
Visited the Web from Toshiba site, they have a BIOS update that fixes the problems that I have. I do the update, CRAAAASH!, dead computer.

    Death seriously.

Turn on the other computer, search, find a few websites on "crisis recovery disk Phoenix.

I read religiously, run to the store, buy a FDD, some readers, usb, the Bios file download, rename, make the drive...

Trembling with anxiety, I press FN + b, switch on the machine, and it works!

Well well... at least the works of the Zombie fashion: pink LED, high speed fans, manages the USB FDD, begins the USB FDD, he read for a good two minutes! Then nothing.

'It's ok, it'll be ok' I think. The starting block is a program that is not more than 4 k, the computer has no bios, impossible to use anything, and must digest a 1000 k bios.

    I wait, nothing happens.

SO what now? I tried the 'start FDD' ten times at least. Last try, I waited all night! I Went sleep after the computer read the floppy).

Whatever I do, once the disk has been read, nothing happens.

I turn it off, I unplug it, I try with battery, no battery, I speak well, I insult, I pray, I cry, I swear... NOTHING WORKS!

    I do something wrong, somewhere.

On my drive are the phlash16.exe, the minidos.sys and the bios.wph (extract from a file named AASA40. ROM, downloaded with the pack zip on the toshiba site)

What should I do? I read it on some forums that computer makers like Dell and Compaq deliberately disable the Boot Block Flash, is the same thing with Toshiba?

The latest version of the bios that I have downloaded is corrupted?

Is it possible that my motherboard is physically by the update failed? In this case, is it easy to replace yourself?

I don't want to be ripped off by Toshiba for repair, if the only thing that I miss so far is a combination of keys at the end of the flash Boot Block recovery...

    In short, I'm lost.

No idea to this wonderful group of reflection?

    Thank you

    Baaharb.

I think that the update of the BIOS based on windows is security more like an update of the traditional Bios.
Why? Because using the traditional BIOS there is always a risk that the wrong BIOS would be used.
The BIOS using focused on victory, this risk does not exist.

I know a lot of people who uses a bad BIOS and damaged module BIOS ROM.

Anyway. To show you, I think that there is one solution as mentioned by delvoie, you will have to contact the local ASP.

    See you soon

  • Satellite P100-102 works badly since the installation of Vista

    Hello!

I installed Windows Vista on my Toshiba p100-102 (A3E) but I had a 'small' problem. In each 3D app, I had a lot of shifts and slowdowns. I think it's a problem with the graphics card and I think the grapics card fan works slow since installing vista. Thus it reduces the mhz for a few moments (1 minute at) (I think, I'm not shure)

so... anyone have any idea what I can do? Maybe should I use an alternativ graphics driver?

SRY for my bad English = /.

    Oxford

    Hello

did you properly installed all the drivers for your system? It s absoulutely necessary that everything is correctly installed and configured.
Another thing is: Joanie to install the latest version of the bios, because I had a problem with my Satellite A100 after installation of Vista and I was able to solve it with my bios update.

Regarding the graphics drivers, I can give you some links that might help you with your performance problems:

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
    http://www.OmegaDrivers.NET/

Try these links and you will find drivers for your VGA. And please look carefully, a lot of people I have given the link tell me that they don t find anything, but the drivers are there.

    Welcome them
