Satellite P300 - 14 p from Premium from Vista to XP Pro Downgrade

Would it not make sense to delete the Partition of C:Vista then install XP in C drive (once recreated) if not. How to install XP safely?

I'd be able to get the drivers for my laptop running XP and the Toshiba utilities would still work?
And finally - I was wondering if I could go back to vista

Hello

First of all, it would be desirable to create Toshiba Recovery DVD before you install or remove anything from the HARD drive.
The recovery DVDs is a hot spare that could be useful to restore the laptop to factory settings.
This means that if you want to retrieve the Vista on your laptop, you should only use the recovery disc then the whole package Vista with Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software would be back on the HARD drive.

Secondly it s not wrong to install Win XP on the C partition. I mean you can install Win XP on different partitions, but if you want to replace Vista with XP you could install XP on partition C too.

I don't know if XP drivers are available for this series from Mr. phone what series is this exactly? Check the bottom of the unit. On the label, you should find a few model numbers

In Device Manager, there is a yellow exclamation by the "IDT High Definition Audio Codec" under sound, video and game controllers.

  • Re: Satellite A300-Y00 - Downgarde from Vista to XP

I want to ask about the downgrade from Vista to XP.

First of all, if I degrade for WinXP I lose all my data or files such as my music and movies?
And also all the drivers have been installed to be "repair my computer"?

Second, if its not, then I will install another OS such as Windows XP Home SP3 edition, can I do?

You downgrade Vista to XP using the disc of Microsoft?
If Yes, all files will be deleted that are stored on the first partition. You can format the second partition, but this is not necessary.
Before you install XP, you can choose which partition will be formatted or not.

Of course, you must download and install each driver after downgrading. You can find it on the Toshiba site:

  • Cannot wake-up Satellite P300 - 13 M from hibernation

    Hello

    I have a new laptop Satellite P300 - 13 M.

When I put this laptop hibernation using the way Windows Vista or when the computer is low on battery mode.

Even though I put the power cord in or even if it is still in I can't get my computer out of the Hibernate mode.

I pressed the button. Moved with the mouse. Klicked all the mouse buttons. Power button pressed but nothing done.
I have to hold the power button for 3 seconds to the laptop turns off the hardway.
I also tried all combinations of fn keys like ctrl combintations as of the ctrl-alt key combinations.

    What could cause this problem?
Or even better. How can I solve this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    What you can do?
Well, you can update the BIOS, you can upgrade to Windows Vista and then you could check if the issue still seems.

    What do you think?

  • Satellite P300-1EU - msahci.sys missing for Vista

I have a problem with the Satellite P300-1EU, Vista not started because he wanted msahci.sys file.
I have no restore DVD. You have a solution for this problem?

    Cordially Rb

Is that what you have just activated AHCI against drives in the BIOS? If to put the setting back to the IDE and the problem is solved.

If you can start your computer in safe mode, then the AHCI driver should reactivation. There is a solution with a single click here [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976].
If msahci.sys is not on your hard drive, then there are sites that allow download of system files. I think that the file must be in c:\windows\system32

  • Downgrade from vista to XP pro on Pavilion dv3-2005ee (need drivers)

    Hello

I want to downgrade from vista to XP SP3 because some old games on does not work on vista as Hitman:codename 47 and TheSims... etc.

Then... I need help to find the driver for this laptop. I did a forum search for my model and found nothing.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Before that we'll start with her, I have something to tell you. Decommissioning of this model is not always easy, and your model is designed to work well with Vista. Please check first that link written by Joshua Wood and concentrate on problems that may appear when you install the sound card in it. I don't know then it's dv5 guide, but a lot of hardware and drivers are the same for both models. It is recommended also by me to print this guide and information on the problems with the sound card.

First make the Vista backup. Here you have all the information, how do.

You have a folder with the drivers & programs that can prove very useful after downgrade XP. Copy the folder in C:\Swsetup on DVD Before you format your hard drive.

Now you need to integrate your drivers Sata (only x 86 drivers) win nLite.

Here is the guide how to do it and here are AMD SATA AHCI Controller for you. Just unRAR it drivers with winrar.

Remember, also, that you use the Windows XP SP2 version. If you have not got the version SP2 here you can download this service pack

and here you guide how to integrate this file with your new system of nLite.

In this program, you can even burn your new XP cd with this driver.

  • G60-125NR of the upgrade from Vista to XP Pro drivers needed

    Hello world

    Details of portable illustrated signature.

I need to upgrade my Vista to XP Pro laptop. The HP site does not really provide any medium for XP as you can see here, it's just the quick launch buttons and the update of the HP software:

I have the software that is running vista other than the fact that I don't just not like vista used. I managed to get pretty much everything works under XP except for 1 driver missing in the device as Manager indicated below:

    Video (VGA Compatible) controller properties > details shows PCI/VEN_10DE & DEV_0845 & SUBSYS_360A103C & REV_A2\4 & 15DBADC5 & 0 & 0058

So what I'm looking for right now. Although it would be nice to have all the correct drrivers for this pc run XP (some of what I have work cannot be what he really need).

What is the new slogan of HP? "Do the PC again" or something like that... lol. Well, I like mine with a side of XP and Linux would take the vista please.

If anyone here knows what I'm looking for the driver? And if anyone knows where all the correct drivers for this laptop (apart from the one to sell them on ebay) it may be easier to post links to them now instead of having to deal with this issue later.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Need help with this problem without downgrading from Vista to XP pro.

OK so I have a problem, but it is in a common category, it is a rare problem as given that everywhere I look I can't seem to find someone who has the same problem.

Question #1: Heres Alright so my question downgrade from vista 64 bit of the month last to XP pro SP2... Well, I'm going through the process of installation very well, wipe the hard drive, make new partion (or how ever spell you it) etc. It starts the formatting, and it installs everything seems to be fine. Now when it comes to the reboot screen it counts down it restarts correctly now, this is where the problem occurs. During the restart of the process rather than continue through the installation process which should be, where it says "Press any key to boot from the CD" soon after that instead of going into the installation process it says "disc read error" or something of the sort just underneath. Help, please!

Question #2 also now that I re installed vista I did all good also, erased the hard disk (even I tried to install XP on) just to make sure they had no data on this. Well now, during startup it asks if I want "a previous version of windows" or "Windows XP" as if I double started somehow. Vista loads still very well when I choose it however. If I managed to do an install own success of XP it should fix right?

    Thanks again.

    Hi Kevin112,

Thanks for posting. Follow these steps on your XP disk.

    1. place your Windows XP installation CD and start to her...
    2. Press any button to start the Windows installation (don't worry... we do not actually use the installer at this point)
    3. wait a few moments for the installation program starts, when you see repair an installation of Windows XP using the Recovery Console, and then press the R key
    4. wait until you see this screen, enter the number of your master installation. (Typically 1 to C:\Windows)
    5. press ENTER.
    6. If you are prompted to do so, enter your administrator password. If you don't have one, leave the field blank and press to enter.
    7. from the command prompt, type: chkdsk/r (note the space between chkdsk and / r)
    Allow it to complete undisturbed.
    8. remove the disc, then restart.

After completing this, then format it and try to reinstall XP again. As for your other question if completely format you your drive using XP you should not see the previous version of XP. The only reason you would see that it's the Vista BCD is located on a second hard drive in your computer. If this is the case and you want to do an install own format two readers please.

  • How can I downgrade Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9 company from Vista to XP Pro?

    Hello

I just took delivery of a "Toshiba Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9 - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 15.4"TFT".» Great laptop, but the operating system is very slow... transfer files, access to the internet.

I understand that the license allows me to downgrade to XP. The question is how can I do this, because this operating system is not ready for the technology on my laptop.

1 Toshiba provide me with a XP OS disk?
2 Toshiba provide me with new XP drivers for my laptop?
    3. I have trouble with XP recognizing my hard drive due to the SATA drives.

Vista is useless because it does so not. Even Microsoft are allowing users to downgrade - please see below.

Here are a few notes I found on the web

    **********************
Can I downgrade my OEM of Windows version

Vista business to Windows XP Professional? Yes. Right of demotion OEM desktop operating systems PC apply to Windows Vista business and Windows Vista Edition full, as stated in the terms of the license. Please note, downgrade versions OEM Windows Vista business and Windows Vista Ultimate are limited to Windows XP Professional (including Windows XP Edition Tablet PC and Windows XP x 64 edition). End users can use the following media for their downgrade: Volume Licensing media (provided that the end-user has a Volume License Agreement), trade retail (FPP) or System Builder hologram CD (provided that the software is acquired in accordance with the Microsoft OEM System Builder License). Use of degraded operating system is governed by the Windows Vista Business license terms, and the end user cannot use the downgrade and professional Windows Vista operating system. There is no right of demotion for Windows Vista Home Basic or Windows Vista Edition Home Premium.

    ***********************

If you want Windows XP Pro on a new machine, Windows Vista (Business or Ultimate), and then downgrade
I don't know how many people is aware of this, but if you buy a Windows Vista Business or Ultimate then you can use a Windows XP CD (that you have legal access to) to load Windows XP on this machine.

When you need the product key / or need to activate, it will potentially fail, but a simple call to with your Vista product key activation center should give you all the details you need. Then, when you're ready to put Vista on this machine, you can do without the purchase of this new cost. Alternatively, you can buy Windows XP today and if you want to load Vista, you can give more money to a store for a copy again.

For more information, go to http://oem.microsoft.com/script/sites/public/licensing.htm

    **********************

    Hello

First of all thanks for the information on the downgrade of the OEM of Windows version.

I bought my Satellite with Vista and it would be nice that I would get a XP for free.

But to be honest I'm not really sure if Microsoft will activate Win XP after buying the Vista operating system. But who knows, maybe you should say with the support of Microsoft.

To my knowledge, you will not get any additional operating system from Toshiba, but only the Toshiba Recovery CD.
Each Toshiba laptop has been delivered with the recovery CD that contains the Microsoft operating system (XP or Vista), drivers Toshiba and utilities.

That's all. If you lose the recovery CD, you can order the same CD/DVD with the same operating system of the authorized Toshiba service provider!

But like I said above, a retirement details you should specify it with MS is supported.

If you get more information from MS, please report it here in this thread. It s interesting theme.

    Best regards

  • Satellite A210-downgrade from VISTA to XP Pro SP2 - unknown base system device

I recently bought a laptop. On the Toshiba product page, it is listed as Satellite A210-199 (PSAFGE-05M00FG3). If I followed the link to the drivers page, he is listed as Equium A210 (PSAFGE-05M00FG3).

the laptop came with VISTA Home premium, I don't like / want, but works perfectly. After complete installation of Windows XP SP2 home edition Professional, (latest updates, all the drivers of Toshiba home page, etc.), hardware device Manager lists a "DEVICE BASIC SYSTEM" under "system devices", for which he cannot find drivers (Yes, it automatically searches on the internet and that did not help either).

I tried to uninstall the device and restart it, just to see what happens. And I got the ball from the standard taskbar with 'new hardware found '. Windows still do not find the drivers for it, and it still lists as a yellow exclamation in the hardware device manager. The only difference is that now he is no longer in the "system devices" section, but instead, it's an "unknown device" in the "other devices" section (you know, the big icon question yellow mark)

After a thorough cleaning is reinstalled, it is always an "unknown device" under the heading "other devices."

EDIT: maybe I should also mention that when I install graphics and sound card, says windows drivers I changed some important system files and I have to put the original cd with kit WXP SP2.

Have you installed all the drivers provided on the European driver Toshiba page?

I mean divers for card reader controller, AMD processor driver, Driver Modem, infrared Driver, etc.

    Please check all these drivers!

  • Can satellite P300 - I switch from 32 to 64-bit Windows?

    Hello
Soon I'll receive the CD with Windows 7 and the drivers for my laptop (P300-20 b). I warned for Toshiba Windows 7 Upgrade Option Program. And currently I have Vista 32 bit.
Can I switch to Windows 7 64 bit of Vista 32? And another question, what is the optimal amount of RAM for 64-bit system? Currently I have 3 GB.

    Thanks for the reply!
    Kind regards
    Gregory.

    Hello Gregory

Unfortunately, you can't switch from 32 to 64 bits. If you want to use the 64-bit operating system, you must do any new installation. Install Vista 64-bit using the recovery disc or HARD drive recovery option.
After doing this update install Win7.

Optimal RAM? You can use it with current 3 GB, but if possible you can upgrade RAM and more powerful laptop. ;)
Laptop specifications that your PSPCCE can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM. Not bad.

  • Decommissioning Buisness from Vista to XP Pro - media/COA Question

    Hello

My client has a machine to which they bought at HP (DC5800 small form factor) sticker on the HP, that it says "Downgraded to XP" it also has the product key Windows Vista Buisness COSTS above that.

Now the machine has a new hard drive in it and must be installed with XP. The confusion comes with what product key and the media can use to install Windows XP Pro?

I tried an OEM of Windows disk and the Vista product key does not work, I read the Microsoft rights pages:- http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01274160

who touches that I need to install XP from the disk and type in the Code. Other people have used any other product keys of other machines from what I've read - it's strictly legal? I called Microsoft who said I need to contact HP to get a product key?

As a reminder, I need to know...

-What media windows can I install with (OEM, retail, HP etc..?)

-What product key should I use to install XP
